Work / Employment prospects of a Computer Science Graduate in Poland [16]

1. It depends how good programmer you are then.
2. Yes, if you graduate Polish university then you don't need work permit in order to work in Poland. Beginners salary in the biggest cities is usually around 2000-3000PLN gross. It would help much if you had real working experience when graduating masters. Many computer science students work part time in last years or at least do summer internship. I would encourage you to work in India for at least 1 year before coming for masters in Poland. Experienced programmers earn on average 6000PLN gross. Net is 70% of gross if you wondered.

3. If you have money, then you can study in any country you want. You brother could finance your studies for example.

Law / USD shooting up so high for PLN [76]

Even if Americans spend 4 x average, then it's still small money, they're so few in Poland.

Law / USD shooting up so high for PLN [76]

Quite opposite. The money of few American tourists which will come to Poland because of strong USD are probably smaller that money lost by Polish tourists which will choose Greece instead of Baltic sea.

Just look here:

A study conducted in 2013 evaluated the average expenditure of tourists visiting Poland at 401 USD per person and 76 USD per day of stay (weighted averages). Comparison of the data obtained with those evaluated on the year 2012, indicates a slight decrease of average expenses per person (approx. 0.7%) and daily expenses (by about 2%); in both cases it refers to the weighted average.
Disturbing in this case is the fact that the downward trend, albeit small, remains steady since the fourth quarter of 2012.

There were 300,000 American tourists in Poland in 2013 and 5,300,000 German. American tourists are not important for the industry, except if few times more will come now.

Law / USD shooting up so high for PLN [76]

4.35 in December to 4.15 yesterday has had its effect.

EURPLN fluctuates around 4.2 since few years, so such change is nothing special. But you wrote that expensive USD is good for Polish tourist industry. But how? Most of tourists are Germans, and for them it became more expensive as you showed. The same with Russians who were substantial part of tourists to Poland. For Poles vacation in eurozone became little cheaper so that also bad for Polish tourist industry. And then you write that it's not good for export using raw material bought in Eur. But how ? You just showed that euro is cheaper that few months ago.

wrong. price in euro is not changing much. Only products imported from out of eurozone, mostly Russia and China will get more expensive.

Law / USD shooting up so high for PLN [76]

On 8th March it was up to 3.81 zł = USD $1!

10th of March and it's 3.90
As mentioned it's not a privilege of Poland, but mostly decision of Eurozone central bank. PLN to EUR is surprisingly stable in past 5 years, fluctuating max 10% away from average: stooq.pl/q/?s=eurpln&c=5y&t=l&a=lg&b=0

Law / Visa to Poland? Invitation by a Polish student? [21]

The form requires you to write what right you have to an apartment, so you rather have to live in Poland. I don't see a reason why foreign passport would be a problem, especially that there is a field for nationality.

Law / Visa to Poland? Invitation by a Polish student? [21]

When you google for this application then you will see that they are published on Urząd Wojewódzki websites. I guess that you should bring it filled to the one you belong to:

Just read this link: cudzoziemcy.info.pl/zaproszenie.php And take into consideration, that you are partially financially responsible for the person you invite.

Life / Moving from India to Wroclaw [53]

someone can give some estimate for flight cost, hotel and other expense.

Min 60 eur per day for hotel room for 2 people + child in France and Italy. Buses to Italy and France min 400zł return. Flights with cheap airlines from 40 eur per person (one way) when booked few months in advance. Short train trip there around 10eur per person. Lunch in restaurant min 10 eur per person (without drinks). Daily ticket between 5 and 15 eur per person, depending on city. For Switzerland double all these prices.

As for 6500PLN per month in Wrocław it seems about right. Just note that Poles usually spend less than your Indian friends because know better how to buy stuff cheaper and don't have to pay for private school for children.

Law / Do Poland's taxes apply to foreign pensions? [21]

Dual citizens have to declare there incomes in both countries.

Not in every country. Poland has bilateral agreements with many countries (all EU), which allow to pay taxes only in the country where you have tax residency.

It's not like in Germany. You can get beaten for looking different. But chances for that to happen during one trip are rather low.

Obviously, that block must have been lifted, however, i did not hear about that it was at any point.

Then read today's news: "Swiss National Bank Abandons Minimum Exchange Rate Against Euro"
nytimes.com/2015/01/16/business/swiss-national-bank-euro-franc-exchange-rate.html?_r=0

to be honest, they probably don't deserve otherwise for being that stupid

Partially stupid, partially convinced by banks which adverted CHF as very tempting option, since Poland was to adopt EUR in a year or two and exchange risk would decrease (CHF/EUR changes less than CHF/PLN). Government is also too blame, because they limited number of CHF credits too late.

Law / USD shooting up so high for PLN [76]

Today news is CHF/PLN which increased by 20% in 1h:

CHF vs PLN

The problem with CHF is that around 700000 people in Poland took CHF mortgage. If it stays like that some of them may bankrupt.

Life / How can I convert Zloty to Indian rupee / transfer money from Poland to India? [23]

Here you can see live exchange rates in some Kantory:
kantory.pl/kursy
quantor.pl

kantor.aliorbank.pl/info/subtab/oplaty-i-prowizje?language=en
Here 1st withdrawal abroad is free.
You can also open EUR/USD account in Poland with Debit Card to be sure that there will be only one exchange to INR.

Currently T-mobile account is recommended too. It's completely free and withdrawals abroad from debit card are free too.
t-mobilebankowe.pl/konto

It's harder to compare exchange rates in Debit Cards of various banks. I haven't seen any comparison.

Life / How can I convert Zloty to Indian rupee / transfer money from Poland to India? [23]

I think that the best option will be to convert PLN to USD in some Kantor or online through walutomat.pl and then change USD to INR in India. Other available options are much more expensive. You could get debit card with free money withdrawal around the world and good exchange rate PLN to INR. Some cards exchange first to EUR or USD and then to other currency and some do it directly. Other more expensive options are:

moneygram.com
skrill.com
or paypal.com
Changing PLN to Indian banknotes in Poland probably is the most expensive option.

Life / How are electric cars doing in Poland? [413]

In Munich they were considering order of electric buses last year, but after testing few brands (also Solaris) they concluded that they have substantially lower range than advertised (because of necessity of heating in winter for example) and are too expensive toys. If they really wanted to cut on emission they would switch buses to gas before better batteries are invented.

News / Praga - Warszawa (Warsaw district) - 26% of flats without toilets [5]

I am surprised too. But it explains the old saying that the Warsaw city is only up to the west bank of Wisła. It's funny how they write, that common toilets and bathrooms cause worse children results in school and bigger unemployment.

Charts tell you nothing really,

I think that charts tell you probability that something will happen again if conditions will not change dramatically. All other ways don't work waterways people who know them would be rich.
