Visa to Poland? Invitation by a Polish student?

So I was going to be invited to Poland by my girl friend but I don't think she can... can she? She's a student so I honestly don't know it's possible to get Zaproszenie by a Polish student?

My other option is to go on a tourist visa but I don't know how to arrange that. Any ideas?

If you're an EU citizen, you don't need a visa and might not even need a passport. If your country issues national identity cards, they're good enough for crossing the border.

If you're a citizen of another country, you need to check specifically what requirements there are. Your girlfriend may need to get the relevant paperwork done at her District Office. I've sent out work invitations to some Ukrainians a good few years back, and as far as I remember, it was quite a straightforward process. That said, I was doing it from the position of an employer, so it might be different. It's up to your girlfriend to ask around in the local bureaucracy.

No I'm not EU citizen, it would have made my life more simple :P
I'm a Yemeni citizen from Hadhramout residing in Saudi Arabia.
She's going to visit them this week and see. Hopefully everything will be fine

I haven't done it before but knew a bit about it. Firstly, you apply from your województwo for and official letter of invitation and which takes about 3months to get and based that you are eligible to be a host person.

Good luck,

Are you sure 3 months just to do a letter of invitation? Seems a bit over the top no?

Just read this link: cudzoziemcy.info.pl/zaproszenie.php And take into consideration, that you are partially financially responsible for the person you invite.

Thanks for the link. I had a read, but where exactly do I go to get an invitation form and where do I submit it? On this page is mainly gives information as to what you need to provide.

When you google for this application then you will see that they are published on Urząd Wojewódzki websites. I guess that you should bring it filled to the one you belong to:

google.com/search?q=Wniosek+o+wpisanie+zaproszenia+do+ewidencji+zaprosze%C5%84

Okay thanks. So I assume this is the application form

paszporty.lodzkie.eu/data/other/wniosek_o_wpisanie_zaproszenia_do_ewiden_2.pdf

and it needs to be handed in filled out to your local urzad wojewodski.

I've spoken to people about how long the process lasts. Apparently it takes a while but not 3 months [unless there are complications or something].

I wonder if you not living in Poland or having a Polish passport will complicate things.

The form requires you to write what right you have to an apartment, so you rather have to live in Poland. I don't see a reason why foreign passport would be a problem, especially that there is a field for nationality.

You're leaving Zimbabwe in order to go to Poland?
Did I get you right? Maybe you meant you're LIVING in Zimbabwe:-)

I figure you wrote that your fiance's a male nurse.
Does your fiance speak much English and do you intend to learn Polish?

Merely curious, that's all.

Good luck though,
