Real Estate / Home loan for foreigners (not from EU) in Poland? [10]

@Mr Ben,better use an agent, who have contacts with different banks and know what each bank require. They do charge a commission between 1/2% to 1 % and there are closing costs till 2%.If you have a resident card then it is easier otherwise banks would ask 25 to 30% down payment for a residential property. The whole process I heard usually takes around 1 to 2 months.

3 to 4% variable,as they don't have fixed rate mortgages, one reason I never take loan there.Even on residentials they charge you pre payment penalties. In US infact they are 5,75 for commercials now and going up.I think another 10/15 years you can live off the money in bank again if they keep on going up.

Law / Opening a Polish Bank Account by a foreigner in Poland. Recommendations. [299]

PKO bank,Allior Bank,Citibank,Ing Bank,M bank and Mullenium bank,I had no problems opening accounts when I was not a citizen.I only have 1 credit card from Citibank and a debit card from Mullenium bank and none charges me anything except these 2 banks. If I don't use 1000Pln in a month, these two banks waive there fee too and all banks are insured for 100k euros or equivalent in Pln per account. To open account all ask for Passport as a foreign account or national ID/resident card to open a resident account.

Life / Settle in Poland, which city is best? [30]

In Rzeszow the population is growing because lots of Ukranians are settling there. Also there is huge new development going on.I use to be good at the streets there but with new roads its all new for me now.If I have to choose I will go for Rzeszow. Its developing has an beautiful new international airport.First time we flew there in 2000,they had a rented car waiting for us on the tarmac, ofcourse its not like that anymore but very good terminal with direct flights to NY by LOT.

Love / Why Polish Women like to relocate their foreign husband back to Poland? [5]

Because they understand and communicate with each other.

And why Polish Women Like to relocate their Foreign men back to Poland?

Mine did not and also plenty others that I know did not as well.I think its only the insecure ones do that.
I have been with my Polish wife over 33 years,we do have our days but then one of us gives in and all is hunky dory.

PS:Poland is not the best place to live and raise a family esp if you are from a different country/race/culture.

Law / Non E U. looking to retire in Poland, seeking permanent resident permit. [21]

Not if you have a senior home with indoor, pool, sauna, hot tub and maybe racquetball court or tennis court. But again Doug a guy like you who has to slog to pay his bills from 6.30 AM in the age of over 60 cannot even imagine that some smart people retire at 44 with high 6 figure incomes.

Law / Lawyer familiar with EU law needed (to sue my employer in Poland) [65]

@OP,if its an American based company and has head office in the USA,you can get a lawyer on contingency basis and the sue the company here. Also you will find out what value does your case have.Usually the fee is 60% for them and 40 for you incase you don't have to pay court costs etc.If any lawyer takes the case provided he smells money then usually such cases are handled by corporation insurance lawyers. If the amount is not big and even has 25% chance to win it is usually settled in mediation, paid by insurance.

USA, Canada / Car Export from USA / Canada to Poland [30]

If you are taking your car back ( since you mentioned you will be in Poland only for a year)then better of driving with Canadian plates because if you change plates to Polish ones you will never be able to take your Polish car back to Canada. To do this there are agents everywhere on Gdynia port for 2 to 400pln they will do the paperwork and you will get your car out from the port in 1 day.You can ask uzad celny every 6 months to extend the stay of the car without paying any taxes and driving with Canadian plates for almost 4/5 years till you keep on asking for extensions every 6 months. And if when they give you a final extension notice then drive it out of the EU to Ukraine and come right back again and the new procedure starts.Only bad thing is that you cannot insure the car fully just with liability insurance.

And if you want to change to Polish plates you will have to pay the agent again and they will exempt all the excise duty provided you have owned the vehicle for over 2 years(they now check on car fax). After 3/500 pln modifications you are good to insure and drive but remember you can not sell the car for 4 years anywhere in the EU and also can never import it back as it is now an Polish car until after 25 years when it is considered an antique.

USA, Canada / Car Export from USA / Canada to Poland [30]

In that case you will have to pay duty almost 43%(I am not sure). But incase you want to keep it there you can pay 4/500pln for modifications but still uzad celny will require you to come through and agent who will also charge cpl of hundred. But still you wont be able to sell it for 2 to 4 years provided the car is owned by you in a foreign country for the last 2 years.

I left Poland because of the air pollution

You and couple of other Polish origin Americans, who would criticize Poland every way they can including pollution or the cheap clothes they wear in Poland or its the new money for Poles.Let me tell you big boy,its all jealousy.I have seen those who couldn't achieve in there respective countries tend to criticize Poland any way they can.I have seen that nation get up on its knees since 2000 and make others jealous.

Life / Which animals are native to Poland? [58]

A permit???you are kidding, here in NJ we just slit the throat or shoot the deer(if you have a firearm) and load it in your truck if its still in driving condition and also no need to call the cops for accident report for insurance purposes.Someone I know just went to the police station and filed the report of being hit by a deer and all was good before going to the butcher shop just incase.

BTW I use whistle deer from Walmart for 6$ on all my vehicles.

Law / Newborn entering Poland using British passport [16]

I agree with you Rubasz that Polish citizenship is very hard to get rid of.We had done the mistake for our kids to get them Polish citizenship, should have let them decide if they wanted it or not.Sometimes later in childrens life that can create problems.

Law / Newborn entering Poland using British passport [16]

All depends where the kid wants to stay? What if the kid gets some job that requires Top Security Clearence? He will really have serious problems getting that if he has citizenship of another country and will have to give up that.

Kratom & CBD stores are poping up like wildfire in some states just like the vape stores.I saw another store opened up like that and are crowded like hell.My tenant told me he has been making over 50k a month and I can imagine that by looking at the crowds in those stores.Kratom leaf is imported from Indonesia and is illegal there but in USA its legal in most states. Her is something about it

upi.com/Health_News/2019/01/03/Kratom-linked-to-opioid-deaths-but-researchers-unsure-of-actual-dangers/8971546523488

K2 crap sold good in early 2000s until they banned it here in NJ.I saw couple stores in Warsaw also but they shut down.I was in business then and made good money of it.cost 2/3$ sold for 25to 35 $.

Travel / Suggestion for nightlife in Poland [28]

Depends what you like.We usually go to a club called "Worek Kosci" when they have any good concert. Its a small place is in the centre and near to all transportation.Only thing I don't like there is that they have no draft beer and food but they for us make some cold meat /cheese platter. There is another one I cant remember the name around the corner in the basement which also sometimes have good music.People from all age groups are there right from 20s to 70s.
