Language / Sinatra singing in Polish [3]

Amazing hearing the legendary "Old Blue Eyes " sing in Polish. I saw Frank Sinatra Jr. perform in concert a few months ago. He sounds just like his papa. He didn't sing in Polish though.

Life / Advocating euthanasia routinely causes scandals in Poland... [63]

Is that the same thing as assisted suicide?

Regarding my family member, "Passive Uthanasia" pertained to removal from a hospital life support system.

Can you share the details if it is not a problem?

The situation was extremely difficult for my family to cope with. My relative was a youthful 15 years of age. He had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage. After doctors had announced he had no brain activity, his parents painfully decide to remove his life supporting devices.

His parents both experienced extreme feelings of guilt, after making their final decision to take such action. They felt as though maybe they should have waited longer, by seeking additional opinions, from other specialized doctors.

My relative has now passed. However, many of his body organs were donated for human organ transplants. My family has more peace of mind now. We know many others are probably alive, because he was an organ donor. His mom told me when she sees someone with beautiful green eyes, she always thinks of him. She knows that someone else now has the precious gift of sight, because of the loss of her precious son.

Life / Advocating euthanasia routinely causes scandals in Poland... [63]

I had once created a thread on PF, concerning Passive Euthanasia. The thread no longer exists. I had mentioned the difficulties and decision making my family experienced, when a relative was on life support.

USA, Canada / Rodeo Ben the "Polish Cowboy" [46]

my dad, and other friends sneaking into the tailor shop, and "borrowing" fancy shirts to go out on dates, and then returning them late at night.

Great story about "borrowing" the fancy Rodeo Ben shirts. Those guys must have been dressed to kill, wearing fancy Polish cowboy attire:)

Life / Unique Culture Aspects of Krakow [18]

The episode on Poland airs quite frequently on PBS television. Ironically, it was shown last night, after I made my post about suggesting he watch the program:)

Travel / Going to Poland and looking for some antiques [24]

Wish I could have come across some great antiques in Warsaw. Only antiques I saw were watches in over-priced shop in Old Town. Saw an antique shop in Lublin. It was closed for a holiday. Kept hoping they'd open!

USA, Canada / Homeless Poles in NYC [25]

They could thumb it to Cali & squat somewhere, like Slab City. They'd need to be able to communicate in English well enough to do so. Gets hot as hell there in the summer too.

In time they'd need some source of valid income. Charity only goes so far...

Love / Polish couples living out of wedlock? [108]

Out of wedlock?

As long as they're good parents, it really shouldn't matter to others.

My sis showed me some old Polish census records. Many babies were born to single mothers. The concept of unmarried couples having babies isn't something new.

USA, Canada / Homeless Poles in NYC [25]

Very sad indeed. Noticed they were of various ages. Hats off to the lady who distributed clothing & shoes, in order to help them.

USA, Canada / Polish American truck drivers [5]

We do have a PF member with the username Polish Trucker. He makes posts occasionally (usually about seeking Polish women.) Maybe he'll contribute some useful information, regarding Polish-Americans in the trucking industry.

I tend to find some Polish guys just a tad bit handsome. If you believe that statement... I have a bridge I'd like to sell you!

Genealogy / Merwa and Paluch - Looking for relatives [3]

You need to be more specific, with any information you may already have, concerning your relatives.

Which war you are referring to? Where were your relatives last seen? How old would they be now?

USA, Canada / Polish people in LA / California [28]

Likely under 1 percent. We are fortunate to have a Polish Catholic church in Los Angeles.

Is there an alternate spelling I could try?

Have you tried research using the last 3 letters sky vs ski?
