Life / First communion - it's that time of year again in Poland! [109]

^^ late reply sorry but i don't come to this forum as often as you guys do

"Keeping up with the joneses" IMO is much more prominent in Poland than here in Canada. My first communion was a low cost event. All the kids wore the same thing and the post-church celebrations either took place at home with friends/family or at a hall. My co-wokers who have kids don't seem to be going overboard on these events nowadays either. Dresses/suits are not even a requirement for some of these religions events as churches provide students with white gowns to put on over their clothes. People here don't spend much on these kinds of things. Showing off is much more noticeable in Poland than in Canada. I could go on and on with the examples.

News / Krystyna Pawłowicz and the 'marsz szmata' (slut walk) [52]

Female Politician from Poland

This is her. Yuck! She looks like the typical slut walk chick.

March in Poland

I wonder what these 2 will think of their participation in the slut walk in 20 years.

I think the slut walk is strange and don't see how it benefits women. I saw the slut walk in toronto and it appeared as though 99% of the participants were lesbians and/or hardcore man-hating feminists. Most of my female co-workers were embarrassed and not supportive of this initiative.

Travel / A four days vacation, where to go in Poland? [39]

I'd recommend going to the Mazury. It's always nice to get away from the city to enjoy nature.

What about the fact that we are a Muslim Couple and she's covering her hair? Should I worry about going outside the big cities?

People will stare at you, skin heads may say something. I'm sure you guys will make it out unscathed. Unlike if i were to travel to a small town in pakistan with my blonde girlfriend wearing tight jeans & tank top revealing her cleavage. Now that would lead to some serious trouble for us.

Life / Could Poland become an immigrant country? [42]

Poland entered the EU so therefore Poland will have to become a multi culti country. Hopefully Poland learns from western europe/US and does not bring in blacks or muslims. Asians are a much better choice.

History / How I blew a 6 figure grant for my charity because of my appreciation of Polish history... [77]

The guy didn't even answer and turned away, seemingly restraining himself from attacking me with his butter knife.

I have so many American Jewish friends that believe this crap about Polish/Nazi collaboration, and then the whole world in general act like the holocaust was only about the jews which is ridiculous.

Almost all jews think Poles and Nazis were working together to destroy world jewry. They are taught this from a young age.

or secured it by speaking honestly.

OP won't be getting a single penny.

News / Poland Unemployment: Nobody protests, because people are leaving [30]

I cannot understand how unemployed Poles can survive.

"Polak potrafi"

Those who don't find jobs usually find something to do to make ends meet. I bet most live with relatives too.

A bloody revolution is needed to fix this mess.

Life / The Best Things About Poland [23]

In no particular order,

- strong family life
- Polish society is not infested with the political correctness disease. Yes i do realise this is coming to poland by way of the EU, but at the moment they're ok.

- 3rd world immigrants are few and far between - no race riots (ie: LA, london, paris), hardly any foreigners leaching the system (huge problem in canada, politicians scared to do anything about it for fear of the PC police), no affirmative action, don't have to worry about some of these violent prone groups attacking Poles (see crime stats vs race in USA), don't have to worry (yet) about the erosion of the Polish culture as a result of the flooding of the country of totally different people.

that's it for now

News / Highlights of passing year, in Poland (or elsewhere) which made hot discussions in PF [57]

Polish concentration camp, to most normal people means concentration camp in Poland.

Most people know nothing about history therefore most people would actually believe that the concentration camps were Polish and not German.

Never quite understood the obsession with obama. I guess the media did a good job brainwashing people like you to believe in "change" and "hope."

News / The quality of Polish media coverage [48]

Why can't the Polish media just give us straight news?

Why can't any media outlet give us straight answers?

Have you been living under a rock? Do you know what bias means?

News / What should Poland do to solve the population crisis? [101]

I'm curious what Poland will do. Will Poland take the Russian path (try to increase population growth at home) or take the western approach (import boat loads of muslims other 3rd world migrants)?

News / Repopulating Poland with Ukrainians? [67]

I am glad to see Poland taking a lead in the effort the world needs to make to get it's population under control

I want to see countries that are overpopulated to work on reducing their population. It's really sad to see European countries dwindling in size whereas women in developing countries are popping out kids like there's no tomorrow.

Genealogy / Help with family name Besta? [6]

36 people in poland have this surname

173 in germany

36 in austria

Not sure how accurate these results are but maybe they can say how common (or uncommon) a surname is.

USA, Canada / Do many Polish people in America hate Americans? [592]

I think Poles in the US who hate americans are the type who don`t have US citizenship and/or work menial jobs. As a result of this they don`t fit into american society and miss Poland, but don`t want to go back because they would not make as much $.

Actually i wouldn;t even call it hate. It`s more like they tend to complain about certain aspects of life in the US and try to make themselves feel better by saying that things are better in Poland. For instance, ``food tastes better in Poland.``

News / Polish bishop caught with 2,5 promille [45]

BBMan, the one who sneers at Poland from his high and lofty perch in Canada.

You and harry are the ones who sneer at poland/poles/polonia. You 2 clowns act like you're on a "high and lofty perch" in poland just because you're foreigners. And you've both been banned for it too ... many times.

lol you have to admit though, you do say "i personally know ...." quite often on here. Most of these people you claim to know are not real.

By the way, why would you spread false informations?

Get off the forum, move outside of your anglo circle of friends and just ask some middle aged+ Poles, they'll tell you.

News / Polish bishop caught with 2,5 promille [45]

But instead yet again we see that while the RCC says that all men are equally, some men are slightly more equal than others.

Only a fool believes there is equality. Think of all the wealthy people that get away with crime thanks to their money and ability to hire top notch lawyers. Under communism priests always got away with drinking and driving, most police officers would not dare arrest them.

I can only hope he gets a tough sentence.

I can think of at least 2 priests who clearly have had problems at some point in the past.

Delphi, the brit in poland who seems to know everyone.

UK, Ireland / I'm currently living with a Pole who has been claiming benefits in the UK [35]

I somewhat understand how oxon feels about Poles milking the system in the UK. Here in canada there is a major problem with 3rd world immigrants milking the system much the same way and the government has actually taken a bold step to strip a couple thousand of these scumbags of their canadian citizenship.

History / Poland's undying debt to Polonia [76]

Again - why should Poland feel thankful for this? America (of which the US Polonia are a part) betrayed Poland in WW2 - all the cash in the world can't make up for the fact that this betrayal happened.

What about French and British promises to help Poland in 1939? Not that there was anything the limies could have done vs the Germans, but I just thought I had to say this.

Notice how all the polish pfers living in pOland don't ever say anything negative about the polonias help to their families who stayed in Poland.....

Always has to be the Brits stirring up trouble.
