Its much better to have politicians who have experience of managing political institutions - they know that you have to build coalitions, hear different points of view etc. The sooner the world gets back to professional politicians the better.

TV stars and businessmen don't normally work out well. Reagan is an exception but he had 2 terms as governor of a big state first.

1. It's nowhere near enough for three of you - 6000 would give you a basic life. 8000 would be comfortable

2. No it's not a big problem. Poles don't really do heavy curtains

3. Not really - you have to pay into the state system to qualify but the list of subsidized medicine is not as much as in the west

4. Someone else can answer this dumb question - it's not a great reason to move

I don't know what you mean by Polish ways but it's a free country and people can follow whatever ways they want to.

You should look at the exit poll Ironsides it has clear data on education and age

Very close in the US - Duda winning 55-45.

This is the last year the old timers in the Red Apple Buffet will be in the majority - in 2025 it will be Polish bankers in NY and villa owners in Florida that decide the US Polonia vote

The shame factor is apparently already included in the exit poll calculation in the second round

Will be very close

The regional split is already in however with the predictable result - Duda running up all of his votes East of the Wisla among the old and less educated

Re controlling the courts then the worst thing was makinG the Justice Minister also the Director of Prosecutions - it's an obvious and very dangerous step to using the courts to political ends,

Re leadership of Eastern Europe then it might never have been but it should have been - Poland has overtaken Hungary and Czech in wealth a few years ago, and Warsaw has become just as cosmopolitan and business like as Prague and Budapest and Vienna.

My 3 top reasons

Threat to democracy - especially trying to control the courts

Weakening Poland's position in Europe - Poland should be the natural leader of Eastern Europe but it has lost that role and the moderate democracies like Slovakia, Slovenia, Lithuania etc do not look up to Poland

Renationalization - I'm not opposed to keeping strategic assets in state ownership, but PiS just uses state companies to feed and water an army of untalented cronies

I was doing well until the government forcibly shut my business with no compensation and no support.

Who cares what it was like in February ? now it is completely screwed and it is the governments fault that they were unprepared for this, had overspent on kielbasa and then wouldn't support hard working Poles.

So the real reason you will vote PiS from your home in Britain is that you don't like Muslims

You can quote those taxes because living abroad you don't pay any of them.

Working here and raising a family and employing people I can assure you that my level of tax is more or less the same. I am struggling to think of a major PiS reform that benefits business.

There is a status of Outative Spouse in some US states I read - it means where you are married but it turns out the marriage is invalid because one of the parties was married before, because one of them thought their husband was dead when in fact he had just disappeared and various other Wild West explanations,

Bit no that status does not exist in Poland - you have to go through some hoops to get the right paperwork to show you can get married And probably they expect other countries to have the same standards.

Just put a ring on it if you are in love - that will solve all your problems with whether you are married or not.

But he's already done a debate on TVP In the first round, which was a farce as anything run by them is these days.

Fine to have it on Polssat, TVN or on the internet but TVP has no credibility - and by the way advertisers are abandoning it in droves now so it will need even more handouts from our taxes.

Duda is losing momentum and I think might lose. He has to get his entire vote out again to win - that's difficult to do when he has no positive messages. Going to talk to a few hundred of the converted in Konskie (A one horse town ?) instead of debating before the nation Isn't smart.

I'm not sure what a Bona Fide belief means but standing in a church in expensive clothes and then signing a piece of paper is one of the few things I do remember about my twenties

And another key similarity between PiS and the PRL is that being boss of the party is a bigger job than being the elected president or prime minister - the voters are treated with contempt, though 50 percent of them are happy with it.

I think it's important that once PiS rule finishes - as it will one day - that Kaczynskis enablers in TVP, in the courts and in state owned businesses never work again and are treated as pariahs in polite society.

But people are voting both for anti PIS candidates - for example in local elections and in senate elections. The people who vote against PIS are younger, richer, better educated, and a clear majority of the working population. None of them are sitting around Costa Coffee claims themselves to be an elite - they just have different lifestyles and values.

They might be 48 percent of the population but they are 90 percent of the tax base and that is going to be a huge problem

Ditto people are voting democrat - more than 3m extra votes for Hillary compared to Dettol Donald. The Democrats won the last mid term elections by more than 10 million votes. I don't know how the Presidential elections will go but for sure Biden will get at least 5 million more votes than Trump. e votes come from working people, more educated people, younger people.
