Tusk works in the government four days a week - on Fridays he's already back in Sopot

So, being in Sopot prevents him from doing any work? Is Warsaw somehow the only place he could function as a prime minister?

I see no problem here. Do you envy him or something? When in US I also had to commute by plane on a weekly (sometimes bi-weekly) basis. There was nothing enjoyable about it really.

At least in Warsaw that is certainly not the case. Also the OP should remember about Real Estate tax and/or Tax on Perpetual Usufruct, depending what he/she buys.

Sorry to disappoint you. I remember how crappy Poland's economy was in 1989 and before. And I suspect Pawian was there to witness it first hand too. And I am glad things have improved by now, enormously.

I was in a similar situation in NYC, way back when. Except I was a Pole and reacted, they were Americans and did not. Go figure! Local precinct cops were my friends after that :)

BREJ: from breja (mush, porridge, thick soup); also known as bryja.

I somehow doubt that this is the origin of the name. One has to remember that in medieval times that area of Poland witnessed substantial German settlement, and although all those Germans eventually assimilated their names continued to be in use even if in Polonised form.

And by the way, the word "breja" is itself of German origin anyway. Cf.:

Language / Quick question on Polish language fundamental [40]

Szłam do sklepu, gdy zaczął padać deszcz. - I was going (walking) to the store, when it started raining.
Poszłam do sklepu. - I went to the store (note, without other qualifiers this sentence may not be informative enough, eg. we can't know if you came back from the store)

Byłam w sklepie. - literally: I was at the store. However it actually implies the following: I went to the store and came back. (I am no longer there)

Can anyone tell me the location and/or event shown in the video?

It was in Warsaw, on Pilsudski square. I would suspect it was after JP2 died, but don't know for certain.
