Food / Golabki - Oven or Stove top [11]

That's mainly because they're made in bulk amounts, with the intention of giving them to family members & friends 👍

So true. My mom makes them oven/stove top, in that order. However NO rice in gołąbki!!! Never ever! Only cheap eateries do that!. Another big no-no are onions!. I'd rather put some rice near my gołąbki, but oh Lord, never onions :)

Language / niczemu or niczego [5]

Idąc na spacer Jan zwyczajowo nie zabierał ze sobą niczego i nawet jeśli spotkał po drodze jakiegoś świra to niczemu się nie dziwił.

Language / niczemu or niczego [5]

These are two different declensions of the same word "nic"

Language / Pomówić usage [5]

Polish verbs have aspects: perfective and imperfective. Pomówić has indeed two meanings: to falsely accuse but also: to talk. So in this case, 'pomówić' is a perfective aspect of a verb "mówić" and it means the same as: porozmawiać.

Travel / Travel by bus/train from Warsaw to Gdansk without prior reservation? [18]

To answer your questions:

1. Polski Bus is reliable and you have to buy a ticket online for that (and be able to print it)
2. Some trains require you to buy a reserved seat so prior purchase is required (reservation). Otherwise, technically you will have to stand during the whole journey.

News / Poland's John Paul the Great canonisation this year [177]

Parent-child interaction often amounts to little more than buying kids pricey toys, clothes and gadgets and driving them to sport practice, riding school, language lessons, etc. The parents delude themselves with the feel-good impression they are doing their job, whilst for lack of guidance the kid begins taking his cues from advertisers, the entertainment industry and the 'street' (peer groups).

Polo3, how about you tell us how rear YOUR kids, since you claim to be an expert on this topic as well.... ?

Polonia / Any Poles who have lived and worked in Germany recently? [18]

One thing that transpires from your post is: you are scared. But willing to face the unknown at the same time. You will do just fine if you have the skills and have friendly attitude. Smile does wonders!

News / Poland's future rulers meet in Katowice [5]

Future rulers my ass! :-) At least I hope not. Somehow the Duckboy never mentions how he will finance his crazy ideas. Populism at its worst!

News / A new AWS (Poland Solidarity Movement)? [54]

I would say that I would be quite happy if Solidarity dissolved itself. They are a bunch of populists who do nothing good for the country.
