There is no true functional equivalent to the F22 in Russia's possession. The technological gap between the F22 and SU27 family (including 30 and 35) is not inconsiderable. More comparable Russian designs are either in concept or prototype stage (no serial production yet) and all such programs are problematic to say the least. Recently, the lack of certain parts from Ukrainian suppliers is putting entire projects on hold.

On the other hand, putting 4, 40 or even the entire American stock of 187 F22s in this region may change certain aspects of the game but won't be a game changer (my personal opinion) because Putin has strong potential to put his ego before logic.

Anyone else heard the rumor that a rainbow (even bigger than the old one) will be erected in Pl. Wilsona? It is supposed to be huge, crossing over from one corner to the opposite corner, so it is basically right in front of you when you exit the metro station.

I hope they install rainbows on every intersection :) they brighten up the day.

We need to remember that two people living in the same town and even the same street can have vastly different experiences due to unique individual circumstances. Harmless example is the bra story. We have one example of someone that buys them in general stores (InPolska) and then there are other women that I know here in Warsaw that NEVER buy bras in general stores and only get them in speciality stores. I don't think this tells us anything particularly useful except that women wear different bras and/or that every woman may have her unique shopping preferences.

Another recurring theme is the subject of Poles dating or marrying foreigners. Every individual is unique and you can't put them all in the same basket. I know some incredibly nice Poles (men and women) and I also know some horrible ones. I can say the same about ANY nationality, and nobody is better or worse than anybody else.

People are people. I am married to a Polish woman, and I don't go around writing blogs about it.
Your perception of marriage is far more important than your perception of the nationality of the person you want to marry or are married to. Problems happen when you become obsessed with the nationality issue.

At the end of the day, marriage needs communication, mutual compromises and a lot of work if you want it to last. That is true for all marriages. I am one of those people that believe marriage is a lifelong commitment. Some other people believe marriage can be opened and closed at their convenience. These are the kind of difference that you really gotta pay attention to.

A Canadian friend of mine (male) had just run into a group of Polish women while travelling in a another country. He wrote to me saying he is totally blown away by how "feminine" they behave. I said to him people are people, and novelty eventually wears off. Everyone and everything is new and interesting when you start, then you have to work on keeping it going. I think I bummed him out, but as they say, keep it real. Today she can be your "Polish girlfriend" and tomorrow she will be your "girlfriend". Put boyfriend, wife or husband in the quotation marks and this is still valid. Unless you are obsessed with the nationality issue, in which case you should report to your local shrink.

Reply to an appeal can take months, and initial reply only states whether appeal will be considered, and if yes, sets a future date for the proceedings. So you might not even hear from them this year all together.

Wrong info on application or false documents = guaranteed rejection. It means something you entered in the application does not match something in one of your documents. Typical example can be, in some Arabic countries, they write the father's name automatically as your middle or second name. Sometimes this is not consistently applied to every document - check the spelling of your name in English on your bank statement and compare to your passport.

@km123 you might be right in terms of daily observations, but I advertised the job on a leading Polish web portal and received application from (presumably) all over Poland. We did say however that the job is based in Szczecin.

Actually, by age 30 there are more women than men, because (in my opinion) young men are more likely to emigrate than young women. There are no accurate statistics regarding how many Poles have moved to other EU countries (remember, no passport control internally except to UK, and while UK may or may not record entry of other EU nationals, other EU countries do NOT records the departure of their own citizens). So existing statistics cover only those that deliberately registered themselves as non-residents. I say there are more women based on nothing more than personal observations. For example, recently I advertised an engineering job, and surprisingly, about 55% of applicants were women, which is highly unusual in engineering jobs by the way.

My opinion: recruiters here are garbage by default until proven otherwise - and most likely they will prove themselves repeatedly and without fail to be garbage (as seen from both potential employer and potential employee viewpoint). No ethics whatsoever.

I am under the impression that recruitment here is a standard career path for those that failed in everything else or have no real competence besides a piece of paper from some school that means that they blindly memorized their psychology texts or cheated on their exams.

Interesting you say that. When I lived in Vancouver, there was a tiny (less than 1,000 strong) Persian immigrant community. Most of them were Persian elite that left Iran when the regime changed. They were generally very wealthy and very well educated. Yet as a minority group they received a notorious reputation for violent crime. Apparently there was a small gang that called itself "Persian Pride". For some reason this particular gang got a hugely disproportionate amount of media coverage, which led to the entire community being badly stereotyped.

Another example of disproportionate media coverage is biker gangs. I have known dozens of bikers and every one of them is a law abiding citizen. Yet you may have noticed that biker groups in general have a bad reputation. It is all about disproportionate media coverage. If bikers were a "race" then most people would be accused of being racist against them.
