History / What do Poles owe to Jews? [593]

It is only his opinion, in fact ND never was part of the government. They were in oppositions to the government.

Yes it is indeed his opinion. The opinion of a respected Polish academic, based on exhaustive research and eyewitness accounts.

By the way. Your comment about ND, or the openly racist Endecja movement is neither here nor there. But at least one part of your comment is fortunately true - the voters ensured they were in opposition. Having said that. It would be a shame To taint the entire NSZ by the actions of a minority.

genocide against Roma

Some dreadful parts of the Poraimos happened here.

And if the Jewish community were as underassertive as the Roma in this matter, so much of the Holocaust would have been swept under the table too. As a few here wish it had been.

Travel / Pot in Poland for tourists [285]

It's quite a hot topic here at the moment. Very illegal, but prominent politicians support legalisation. Also, Poland has a lot of countryside and the right summer temperature to grow it.

Visit Scotland or NI and you'll really see it. In Poland you don't often. I must say I've never noticed much in Central Asia or Turkey.

Genealogy / Poland Heraldry and Nobility in names/families [59]

More like a hobby for most of the members, but then who knows, some of them could be very serious.

It would be unfair to knock such clubs too much I suppose, especially if they have a genuine interest in it, some sort of credentials and especially if they're involved in some kind of community or charity work too. God knows, there are enough spurious counts round Europe.

I suppose that coming from a country where aristocratic titles are regulated by law and bring obligations as well as just something nice on your visiting card makes me very sceptical of some of those things going round in republics. Google Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband for an example of such crap. He's by no means alone.

There is however a very respectable Order of Chivalry in Poland (I won't name it here) which takes the mickey out of all of that with comic ceremonies whilst raising money for disadvantaged kids. JPII was a member. Paradoxically most of its members are among the great and the good but are somehow too classy to use abolished titles if they have them.

Mostly it doesn't. I have very green eyes by the way. Another unusual thing in East Europe is red hair. It unusually suggests Northern European origins.

In your eyes they might be irrelevant. But to the families who lost their land to communists this is very relevant.

No. It is a club only. Millions of people lost property during the upheavals of the Twentieth Century. Most don't feel the need for vanity projects. Have you actually been here in Poland?

royal clans holding on to their birth rights.

It isn't a 'birth right'. In countries where titles have been abolished, it is just a historical curiosity. In countries like the UK where titles still exist it isn't a 'birth right' either. It is a privilege and a responsibility. So called 'heritage organisations' are an irrelevance.

What's the English equivalent of Hrabia?

Earl. However this is only British and Irish. Elsewhere they use Count. The state of Poland however does not recognise any titles whatsoever.

And are there people now days that still have the title of Dukes that have been passed down to their over time?

Yes but only in the UK. Other countries have equivalents (Spain, Belgium, for example) however Poland hasn't for centuries. The Duke of Krakow was an honorific title of the Austrian Emperor. The Russians did something similar during the partition. Old German, Austrian, Russian titles etc are not recognised by their respective governments or any other competent official body except occasionally as a courtesy with no official status.

History / What do Poles owe to Jews? [593]

What does it prove if it the truth ? Nothing about NZS as whole or their policy, just some people (possibly but not likely ), so what ?

It proves your earlier statements were false. Either deliberate lies of just ignorance.

For every murder of Jew by a Pole I can dig out Pole murdered by a Jew ? Isn't all that dividing of Polish citizens into groups racist in itself ?

Personally I wouldn't divide them - however you may like to look at the title of the thread you have so prolifically posted in and study carefully some of your comments here and elsewhere.

Spectacular backtracking really. Why not just wring your hands and say "yes, well....".

Tactic is a leftists thingy as they do rewrite history to their liking. I'm immune to such tactics and if you are not interested in the truth then I guess it is the time to change the subject.

That isn't an answer. Just a weak attempt at obfuscation.
[quote=IronsideI doubt very much that they killed anybody who was a harmless refugee[/quote]
Read Piotrowski, read about Worczyn, read eyewitness accounts from people who have no reason to say anything other than what they saw.

you mean that leftist BS ?

Interesting. History doesn't fit your 'political' idea, so you try to rubbish it. You wouldn't be the first to try that sort of thing which makes it all the more unfortunate that you still think a 'tactic' like that might work...

No. Read Tadeusz Piotrowski on the matter.

any links that link NSZ with those "murders

More than a hundred documented incidents relating to Polish partisans, some from the NSZ (the paramilitary wing of the Endecja regime).

Check out the Worczyn massacre, among others.

History / What do Poles owe to Jews? [593]

The Gulag system had many types of camp and changed several times over the decades due to economic need and the vagaries of the regime The ones they sent the political prisoners to (especially Trotskyists) were sometimes set up especially so the prisoners didn't last long. Incidentally there were a much higher proportion of Jewish prisoners than in the Soviet Union as a whole.

I strongly recommend Anne Applebaum's book on the Gulag.

Travel / Are there any osho related places in Poland? [19]

A guy I used to work with (from Punjab, very spiritual guy) joined it - partly for the sex. He said the meditation was OK, but you had to have the brainwashing before you actually get the sex and they behaved like a cult. That was back in the early 90s in the UK.

Travel / Are there any osho related places in Poland? [19]

No. It's actually English, from the word 'oceanic'. His real name was Chandra Mohan Jain and he posed as Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. That was the name he was using when he poisoned all those people in America with Salmonella. He changed it to Osho hoping people wouldn't notice he was the same frauds tear.

Oslo certainly had plenty of followers (and ninety Rolls Royces). Interesting though unoriginal philosophy and the free love thing went down well with the pre-AIDS generation. A friend belonged to them back in the days when they still called themselves the Rajneeshees.

The Osho cult has its pluses and minuses. I would say the following is a pretty big minus:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dalles,_Oregon#Terrorism

Anyway, for those who aren't put off by bioterrorism and wealthy cult leaders, here's the website of the Rajneeshees/Osho in Poland.

History / Khazar migrations to Eastern Poland, Belarus, and Ukraine [106]

As we've established already (and this is echoed in other threads here) the Ashkenazi Jews are not the lost descendants of the Khazars. DNA research has confirmed this beyond reasonable doubt. And although the OP's story is interesting, family legends are at best unreliable and at worst misleading - especially when they concern a civilisation that collapsed over a thousand years ago.

Love / Are there any swingers club in Poland? [52]

How do you pay for your drinks in these joints if everyone is butt naked?

If it's a nude place in Warsaw, you sometimes wear a bracelet with a number on and settle your bar bill at the end. You keep your cigs and poppers and, ahem, anything else you may feel you need in your sock.

So people tell me ;-)

Try either of these.

ustaswingersclub.com

odloty.pl

Whether they're any good, I don't know. There are also several all male events each week.

Love / Are Polish girls open to foreigners? [78]

Many Polish women actually prefer foreigners for various reasons...

Indeed. Though it isn't a Polish specific thing.

@MarcinD, most Polish girls aren't naturally light haired - there's a lot of diversity here.

Love / Are Polish girls open to foreigners? [78]

It's all interracial sex, homosexuality & drugs

Those three things are all good, however it's a bit of an exaggeration to say 'its all' that. And in Poland, the cultural influences are by no means restricted - every kind of debauchery exists here and girls can and will find it if they want.

Those girls who have a foreign boyfriend however, tend to be the classier ones.

Love / Are Polish girls open to foreigners? [78]

In Poland it would be seen as a sign of poor family upbringing & poor character

If anything, it's the classier and better educated young women who are likely to come into contact with marriageable men with a different skin colour here in Poland. The trashy ones either just don't meet them or are barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen with a local boy while still young.

History / Khazar migrations to Eastern Poland, Belarus, and Ukraine [106]

you lost the argument

Quite the opposite. However if scientific fact doesn't convince you that the Ashkenazi Jews aren't the lost descendants of the Khazars, It's hard to say what would.

Your claims about my level of critical thought, education and general intelligence are personal attacks, which are forbidden upon this forum

That would be the case were it not a simple statement of fact. See below.

My user name has always only had one spelling. Why are you lying about it? Are you well?

Really?

DesEsseintes = Profile of: Des Esseintes
DesEssientes = Profile of: Des Essientes

To lie so flagrantly (whilst accusing others of lying!) says everything about the misinformation you post here and try to pretend is true and casts permanent doubt on anything you say here. But I don't think anyone takes it seriously anyway.
