Will America send troops to fight a Russian invasion of Baltics and/or Poland?

Now how do you think this is playing out?

"Satellite images show huge Russian military buildup in the Arctic"

"In November, Christopher A Ford, then assistant secretary of state for International Security and Non-Proliferation, said the Poseidon is designed to "inundate U.S. coastal cities with radioactive tsunamis.""

edition.cnn.com/2021/04/05/europe/russia-arctic-nato-military-intl-cmd/index.html

"Three Russian nuclear ballistic missile submarines have surfaced simultaneously breaking the Arctic ice during drills,

"Russia, with its array of hard-to-detect cruise missiles and advanced submarines, poses the primary military threat to the American homeland"

Happen to notice the name of the thread

It's key. And it's Russian. And it touches your territory.

So, we are again and again and again.... not talking about my territory, we are talking about how you think the two E.U. nuclear powers can protect Western Europe.

Now quit playing dumb with your deflect.

it's been so well reported that perhaps they aren't 'super silent' after all,

Exactly joun, yet you posted contradicting yourself with your double talk, see:

since they're excellent at stealth.

Bottom line is that Russia would win a war against the Baltics and Poland and Western Europe without NATO's help.

Happen to notice the name of the thread

You think the two are divisible? They aren't in the slightest. When the conflict starts, it will start within driving distance of Poland, and will involve the US early on, and later it could be what is by then left of the US. The future of the world can hinge on very delicate flashpoints. NATO will do its best to avoid that hinge.

Now quit playing dumb with your deflect.

Stop trolling. Just because you tried to start a debate and lost is no excuse for meltdowns and insolence.

And stop over-quoting.

You think the two are divisible?

Still trying to play dumb with your redirects. lol
I love it when you keep going off - topic to confuse the issue.
That's when I know I got ya. HA !

you tried to start a debate and lost

On the contrary my friend, you lost big time when you contradicted yourself as I pointed out very clearly in my above post.
Now if you want to debate the Artic, I suggest you start a new thread as it has nothing to do with this one.
Russia ain't gonna invade Poland so this is a moot "what if thread" anyways.
Besides joun, for some reason I can't see you joining the Polish Army to kill in defending Poland from 'any' invading country

So basically more meltdown from Jim who doesn't know when he's beaten.

Let's hope the Americans are a bit more rational when Russia expands westward however we can't count on them since they are themselves vulnerable and know it. Fortunately the rest of NATO is strong and able.

I've a feeling the world will look very different in a decade and very much hope (as Poles do) that Ukraine, Georgia and the Baltic states will still be on the map. Though to be realistic, they may not all be.

I can't see you joining the Polish Army to kill

Since it's a modern war and not the battle of Berlin, I doubt they'd take my age group or even people a generation younger (though I'm as fit as a butcher's dog and look 15 years less than I am) and they'd certainly not take you except as Siege of Leningrad rations or as lard to grease the tank tracks with.

Russia ain't gonna invade Poland

That's what people said in August '39.

Really Jon? You could see russian troops invading polish territory? With boots on the ground?

Really Jon? You could see the American boots in Poland killing Russians?

Are you all nuts? Whatever you are on, don't do it or take a lot less of it.

BTW, I am so grateful to whoever started this thread. He and the idiot who wrote that American lives don't matter did me a great personal favor.

Also, speaking of the American boots, has anyone seen a more beautiful flag than the American flag? All other flags look like bad jokes...Polish flag included.

flag

The American flag is too busy.... the original 13 stars were enough.

when it comes to flags as flags (completely apart from the question of how livable or nice the countries are...)

I'm partial to Surinam, tasteful and proportionate

The American flag is too busy....

The only one that gives me that lump in my throat. But that's just me and my weird biases.
The US flag has what I like the most in life - beauty and logic. All of its elements are justified and it is very masculine just like the one in BB's post.

Since the thread involves Russia, I confess that I love their anthem. As opposed to the US anthem, it's very singable and has the most natural flow to it. Give me a little girl doing it and I tear up.

Bottom line: We have no business shooting them and they have no business shooting us. The pictures showing how the two armies met in Germany should serve as a reminder.

So basically, more denial from joun who like all Liberals 'never' admit to being wrong.

Really Jon? You could see the American boots in Poland killing Russians? Are you all nuts?

I am so glad you are here sometimes, Rich, to counter joun's Marxist propaganda.
Just watch how many NATO troops boots will be on the ground when Russia invades Ukraine.
All the saber rattling will amount to no more than sanctions by the U.S. and the U.K.
The U.S. and U.K. warned Russia against any military incursion into Ukraine, saying it would be a strategic mistake that would be met with serious diplomatic and economic consequences.

I am sure that scared the pants right off Putin. LOL
Putin wants Ukraine before Ukraine can even remotely become a member of NATO.

You forgot about some guys being placed on the no-fly list.

Putin wants Ukraine before Ukraine can even remotely become a member of NATO.

Time for a reality check...Just imagine our reaction if Canada decided to become a Russian republic. We would go apeshit. But Ukraine joining NATO? What's the problem if that's what Ukraine wants. Sure. Why not...

So I hope that Putin will do what's good for Russia and to further expose the missing Western testicles.

We would go apeshit.

Serious question....what would you do?
Novichok 4 | 8,105
30 Nov 2021 #195
Remember Cuba?

This one would be worse and the US would most likely invade Canada. There would be no other choice.

On the other hand, if Russia or China decided to take over Mexico and put an end to the caravans, the US should offer transport, food, medics, and everything else to make it happen. Especially if it's China - a country not known for the gentle treatment of drug smugglers.

Putin wants Ukraine before Ukraine can even remotely become a member of NATO.

Well....if that's his fear he is going about it in a totally wrong way...

According to polls conducted between 2005 and 2013, Ukrainian public support of NATO membership remained low.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukraine%E2%80%93NATO_relations

There were no problems....NATO didn't want Ukraine and Ukrainians didn't want NATO....but then:

....However, since Russian military intervention in Ukraine and Crimea, public support for Ukrainian membership in NATO has risen greatly. Since June 2014, polls showed that about 50% of those asked supported Ukrainian NATO membership. Some 69% of Ukrainians want to join NATO, according to a June 2017 poll by the Democratic Initiatives Foundation, ....

I can only guess but the numbers might be even higher now thanks to some not-so-smart moves by Putin....maybe something in the 90s% by now....

Ukraine PM calls for NATO's help against Russia

As Russian troops mass along border, Denys Shmyhal urges NATO to send ships and step up surveillance flights.

Putin is driving Ukraine into the arms of NATO....

Ukrainians didn't want NATO....but then:

Think Canada and the Warsaw Pact. Do you think the US would be swayed by a poll of what the Canadians want? We are a "democracy" but we are not suicidal idiots.

Remember Cuba?

Well...yeah....it wasn't that successful though, wasn't it....

But that's just an interesting thought play....I don't see Russia or China in Canada/Mexico....not anytime soon that is!
Novichok 4 | 8,105
30 Nov 2021 #199
.I don't see Russia or China in Canada/Mexico....

Canada - no! Mexico - please take it, set up a real border at both ends, and shoot trespassers regardless of gender and age.

Who is "joun"?

Jimmy's friend
Who is "Jimmy" ?

He will lose lotsa money should NordStream 2 stay closed

And a lot of the West would freeze to death this winter.

Serious question....what would you do?

Bring our military home and let the West deal with their problem.
The E.U. would be forced to build their military up by cutting out "free" healthcare and "free" college to pay for it just like the U.S. sacrifices.

The U.S. would then have enough money to give our citizens free healthcare and college with the Americans tax money instead of supporting the E.U. with it forever.

I am so glad you ask that question. :-)

That sounds really great....not even Germany can offer free healthcare and free higher education....which party/politicians you could vote for in the US to achieve that?

Bring our military home and let the West deal with their problem.

...and let the Euro welfare bums become men and fend for themselves? Wow! What a novel and great idea! No more riding on the American backs...

Just watch...It's coming...But being in Europe is good for America...

OK, weasels, go for it and tell us again that allowing the US to protect Europe is a favor to the US and that the US should be grateful for this gesture on your part. Actually, we should pay you for this great privilege and pleasure.

..which party/politicians you could vote for in the US to achieve that?

"Bernie" :-/

The saber rattling continues.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused NATO on Tuesday of deploying a significant amount of military hardware near Russia's borders and said Moscow could respond to security threats from Western countries and Ukraine if necessary.
Tacitus 2 | 1,403

not even Germany can offer free healthcare and free higher education

Germany does not offer free healthcare but universal one, which interestingly was invented by bonna fide reactionary Otto von Bismarck... higer education is also free except for a few federal states that demand a modest university fee.

Never mind how universal healthcare would most likely be cheaper long term for the USA than the current system. Currently the US spends twice as much per capita than Germany for an inferior service.

I have a better qestion? How much Putin pays you?

Bring our military home and let the West deal with their problem.

Well. Germany wanted that since tag der deutschen einheit, Amerikaner had different idea.

I have a better qestion? How much Putin pays you?

I have a better question. Are you planning to volunteer to fight for anybody's freedom in Africa or Asia any day soon?
Putin doesn't have to pay me anything. I don't like you and your idiotic posts for free.

Amerikaner had different idea.

Bullsh*it. All Germany has to do is send an email like this to the WH: We want you out by xxx, 2022.
Google: "Subic Bay" before posting another Polak crap. Here is a quote from Wikipedia. Read it and see how stupid your post is and how easy it is to get rid of the US:

Finally on 27 December, President Corazon Aquino, who had previously fought to delay the U.S. pullout to cushion the country's battered economy, issued a formal notice for the U.S. to leave by the end of 1992.[18] Naval Station Subic Bay was the U.S.'s largest overseas defense facility after Clark Air Base was closed.

Just like that...

Putin wants Ukraine before Ukraine can even remotely become a member of NATO.

Once they become member we are obligated to defend them. I dont want the USA being dragged into another war.. Its a European matter, if they want to help, go ahead.

Trump had the right idea by giving them the anti tank artillery. Remember when Obozo sent them blankets! lol Expect the same feckless policy from Dementia Joe, Im surprised he isnt helping Putin.

What Poland needs is no interference from mass murderimg, gemocidal.Serbs

Ask any Pole on the street what they think about Serbia and wait for the snarl. This is the only place that gives Crow a platform and it boggles the mind.
