I'll leave this now until next year now, considering the expensece this has all cost $3000 AUD $6000 euro, I just wish this could have been sorted out before I left AUSTRALIA for the uk and other countrys, this was my chance to get away for it all, but visa hassles and drivers liceence hassles are cousing me greef. as i have a native drivers licence and a IDP that are useless for what I what to do. DRIVE a truck lorry Camper vehice though Europe, People do this in Australia all the time including people from other countrys. with there drivers licence and IDP, if they want an Australian Licence they can get one non residency requirements here.

There should be nothing stopping you - you'll need to apply for a visa to stay longer than 3 months in Schengen, but if you've got proof of funding and a clear plan to return to Australia, I very much doubt they'll have a problem. The driving licence and IDP is enough to drive in the EU.

thats the problem proof of funding and no clear plan

looks like i've killed this topic piolish licence,as i got ripped off by those mogrels in Hungary, their is not enough money left a exchange or retesting.

I would prefer a UK Licence ranther than other EU countrys
as i don't have a heavey vehicle endorstment the Unimog truck i want to drive is not accesible for me.

Back to polish licence

From the uk website motoring gov uk

Can you drive in Great Britain (GB) if your driving licence was issued in another country?
Conclusion
you will not be able to drive a lorry, minibus or bus in Great Britain (GB) if you have a full, valid driving licence from any other country

you can drive a car and or motorcycle, provided your licence remains, valid for up to 12 months from the day you become resident in GB

you will not be able to exchange your licence for a GB licence
if you wish to continue driving in GB after the 12 months is over you will need to get a GB provisional driving licence and sit a theory and practical driving test

WTF people, if you want a driving license then go and do the test and pass. I had to, and I'm sure most other people did. I guess it's your problem if you crash and kill yourself, but it certainly isn't fair on the other person you decide to kill.

so
does anyone have the proper procedure of how to obtain a polish driving licence from scratch(not exchanging one)im a uk banned driver(not for anything serious)and im willing to make the move abroad so i can still have my pleasure(driving)now i know the law states that i am banned from driving in the uk,thats all it applies to,i also know that the ban is what it says on the tin and know that obtaining a licence from another country wont let me drive in the uk,i have no intentions to,all i want is a quick easy way to do the test so i am able to drive in the E.U. legally and i hear poland is the cheapest

will i have to move there and live for months till its done?
could i go over do all the paper work get myself an address there for any correspondance(letters from the test centre or dvla equivilent, polish) and live back in the uk pretending to be living there? then when its time to go over on the dates im given for tests fly over,do the theory, come back home and fly over again for the driving test

that way its totally legal in a sence that ive sat and past the test
hey presto i can now drive in europe
anyone got any answers to any of the above?
and if you live in poland ill be your friend for a fee to use your postal address
now would that not be nice and clever and legal?

if you want a driving licence then pass the test... simple...

And maybe the Licence Assessors could give people more of a chance to pass the Test as well

Thats to yo DVLA Money making raketeers

I personally know a UK citizen now a permenent resident in Australia, He has a Australian driving licence (my state) (didn't have to do a test or anything)

and he still holds a uk Driving Licence that he renews every 5 years or so via mail order internet and credit charge , Using his parents address in the UK.

If he can do this why can't other people

It's easy. European law says that you must be resident in the country for 185 days legally. It's rather straightforward to obtain legal residency in the EU. Job done.

I'm not sure why you seem to think that it's unfair that the EU expects people to be resident in the Union!

He wants to buy a license instead of sitting the test.

It's illegal and he'll more than likely get scammed if he persists.

Guys like this think Poland is the wild east and that you can do whatever you like so long as you have mucho diniro.

I know someone here who scammed quite a few of these types :)

(must admit, I don't feel sorry for them)

im not going to get scammed, i am aware that there are many scams on the internet for this kind of thing. i read elsewhere that it was possible to get a license in poland for reasonable money.

anyone from poland here that knows about this?
thanks

Might be an idea to ask there. The people that live in Poland that have answered here have said it's not going to happen. I guess you could walk into a drivers course and offer them a massive amount of money and hope for the best.

Wouldn't help a bit - you still need to prove that you're resident for more than 185 days in Poland legally. Some driving centres are also interpreting this to mean "actually resident for 185 days before sitting the test".

You can sit the course anytime you like, though.

For what it's worth, you can apparently buy a Ukrainian driving licence very easily - and you can exchange it to an EU licence without a test.

For what it's worth, a trip to L'viv should yield the goodies.

why do you want to get a PL DL if you don't wanna go there anyway?

because he was driving drunk, lost his driving license and now he is looking for a chance to get a new in another country.

anyone from poland here that knows about this?

no.
we have to pay 1200 PLN for an driving course then 250 PLN for an exam.

I guess you could walk into a drivers course and offer them a massive amount of money and hope for the best.

haha. Most people has to take exam 3 times before they pass! It seems there is no way to bribe an examinator. ;)

To the OP: maybe polish drivers are bad but believe me they don't get driving license in any "easy way"...

You mean, like not getting a license the regular way but buying one = i.e. illegally?
Not that getting a license in the legal way guarantees anything. What I see here in Warsaw on the roads in one day...I did not see back home in a year :)

how do you know this for sure? why make remarks that you dont know if the are true or not?
i have not lost my license so you are wrong.

If you're from Europe, you can just trade your license for a Polish one. Easy as that.

Likewise here.
