Work / Do workers in Poland have to pay ZUS, social security and other salary deductions? Brutto Netto exceptions [10]

I assume that foreign worker means a person from out of EU.
1. As cms said if you're a director then you can be employed as contractor
2. You can create a company and offer services to your employer. It's not cheaper than employment though, because foreigners are restricted to few types of limited responsibility company which aren't cheap

3. You can get employed with minimum salary and get rest as Umowa o dzieło. In this way you don't pay ZUS and NFZ from the part of your income declared as dzieło. If you work as an artist (e.g. a programmer), then you can pay only 50% of income tax from Umowa o dzieło.

Many workers in Poland have just Umowa o dzieło or Umowa zlecenie, but being employed with Umowa o pracę is required to be allowed to stay in Poland for foreign workers.

Study / University of Lodz - transfer study rules in Poland, nostrification [7]

They tell you that you need to certify your school certificate in Polish embassy. If you study in Vietnam, then you must do it in Polish embassy in Vietnam. If you study in Indonesia, then in Polish embassy in Indonesia. Usually such certification is done by a country's ministry of foreign affairs, but neither Indonesia nor Vietnam is member of the Apostille Convention.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostille_Convention

Now, I'm waiting the feedback from them on this case. But, still hope to be there Poland.

Call them not to wait.

Life / Planning to relocate to Wroclaw, Poland [17]

Foreigners without Polish working in Poland work usually in outsourcing centers, English teaching, IT and management. How are you going to regulate your stay in Poland? To work you probably need work permit which is another obstacle. In case you had the work permit you could search for example here:

Law / Do Poland's taxes apply to foreign pensions? [21]

Dual citizens have to declare there incomes in both countries.

Not in every country. Poland has bilateral agreements with many countries (all EU), which allow to pay taxes only in the country where you have tax residency.

Law / Polish mother, British father, is it possible to obtain dual citizenship? [2]

I am wondering whether it is possible to obtain dual citizenship?

Yes it is.

The reasons behind this are potential employment opportunities in central europe which offers preference for citizens.

Polish passport may be requirement to work in Polish: diplomacy, government or intelligence agency. If you don't want to work there, then don't bother.

It's not like in Germany. You can get beaten for looking different. But chances for that to happen during one trip are rather low.

They got there mark 3 out of 6 as an employer, so not very good company, but probably not the worst.

Real Estate / Poland's apartment prices continue to fall [1844]

Interesting conversation about debts in CHF and apartment prices in Warsaw (my loose translation):

Take into account that big portion of people with CHF mortgage bought 50m2 for 500,000. There were many such in Warsaw and I know few who payed this much in Katowice (city 40% cheaper than Warsaw). So they borrowed 200,000CHF for 40 years at 2.5PLN for 1CHF. Assuming that they pay back 50/50 capital to interests, they payed back 20% of capital until now. 160,000CHF left = 670,000PLN to pay. But mentioned apartment is worth now 350,000PLN only.

There was a company GANT. They were building apartments in 2010 in Wola, Warsaw. Buying price then was 9-10,000 PLN/m2. You can read about it in a forum. In 2014 I've been viewing one of the last 2 apartments - 2 storey, 94m2. The price offered to me was 6,200PLN/m2. I did not buy, because I have found much cheaper. Next example? Apartment in Minarska, 80m2. High quality finished and equipped with price 6,500/m2 (still available). Developer told me that in 2008 when apartment was being constructed selling price was 2 x higher. What people show in adds and for how much they sell is completely different thing.

Old cheap cars are cheaper in UK, because on average people can afford better, so there is lower demand for older cars and you have nowhere to sell them abroad, because steering wheel is on the wrong side. But I think you can find something for 3000zł

Law / Online kantory in Poland [14]

Then use walutomat.pl As long as you believe the company operating it won't go bankrupt, then you cannot loose money while exchanging it. It will only get exchanged if somebody offers exchange rate which you want.

Real Estate / Swiss Francs Mortgages in Poland [71]

I really hope these people with CHF mortgages don't get any state help. They drove prices up with their currency gambling and now we should have a natural correction as they are forced to sell or get repossessed. Why should other tax payers subsidise their reckless gambling?

They shouldn't get any help, because it's their gamble, but they where generally good for the economy. The money which they borrowed abroad increased GDP growth, increased salaries in construction sector, increased houses prices, what gave bigger incentive for companies to build more. The question is how competitive is construction market. If it is competitive then higher prices should lead to more apartments constructed, but if not, then just to increased earning of construction companies on the market.

Mortgages are generally good, because it is the cheapest debt, increase home ownership and in many cases is alternative to renting. Of course everything depends on conditions.

Real Estate / Swiss Francs Mortgages in Poland [71]

I think it's around 0.8% - 1.6% above LIBOR. Now some of banks don't want to agree for negative interests rates and national regulator is intervening. I think margins are so low, because at the beginning banks were earning also on spreads. You could exchange PLN to CHF only in your bank, but later national regulator ordered them to accept CHF directly so that finished.

Study / Business PhD or medical schools in Lodz that speak English [4]

Just google "study medicine in Poland"

Basically you need good grades from your matriculation exam, pass one of the international medicine entrance tests, apply around now and if luckily accepted pay around 15 000 eur per year. For English PhD in Business check that: study in poland. But it's rather useless.

Work / Salary expectation for a Junior java developer in Krakow / Warsaw Poland? [17]

Also my priority in this moment is to add experience to my CV so i dont not know exactly what you guys advice me, look for another opportunity or accept this one?

Accept this offer only if you know that you cannot get a job in richer country than Poland. It's better to work in western European IT (except of Italy, Spain, Portugal and Greece).

Life / Advice on Moving to Zakopane [37]

I bet (at those prices) they're miles from the nearest ski lift.

Mentioned ski resort Harenda is only 3.5km from Zakopane center, and some of the advertised apartments in airndb are just next to Harenda. Not even 2 mils away :)

although it seems to be tiny:

discoverzakopane.com/harenda.html

there are other which you can check:
