Life / What makes a man a Pole? what does it mean to be a Pole? [187]

What makes a Pole? (my opinion be scared)...

If you have Polish family/ancestors. The more the better!
You have basic knowledge of Polish culture/tradition/history.
You like/love Poland.
You identify as Polish.
Should learn the language.
You practice the Polish customs
You cheer for Poland above others at sporting events (:))

Life / The changing RCC habits of Poles [70]

Oh, I'm sure it isn't 92.2% of practising Catholics.

True again. Many of the Catholics who go less often to Church, are Cultural Catholics.
They were raised as RCs, and have some connection spiritually, they will participate in the more important events (Christmas, Easter, etc), their faith can change on how they feel, etc.

News / Polish police chief removes crosses [250]

Again an outsider of foreign blood representing alien thinking and values is lecturing Poles on what to do to be regarded (by him) as sensible.

Completely agreed. It baffles the mind.

Life / Poles fear gay babysitters [9]

homosexuals = pedophiles.

They both like the wrong people and its not the norm. So yes they are very similar.

Many people have been brainwashed that a pedophile is a rapist which isnt true.

News / Polish police chief removes crosses [250]

not a good move.

Well said and the worst part is they are socially liberal limeys who continue to spread their propaganda.
The last thing any sane person wants is for Poland to turn into a UK filled with mindless radical athiests and millions of Pakistanis, Indians and Muslims.

USA, Canada / Living 16+ years in the US. Is moving back to Poland a good idea? [14]

Its good to have other close family/relatives in Poland.
If something goes wrong you can stay with them in case of emergency.

Similar to what InWroclaw said, try to stay for a season (a few months) and explore your ideas.

UK, Ireland / Warning by Poland's Government before you go to the UK [53]

Really? That's why you live in Canada and rarely post about any Polish issues at all?

Why would I bother? This is a British infested forum.
If I talk about Polish affairs I do so in Polish with Poles and CanPoles.

Coming on just fine, thanks. I work every day with documents in Polish and colleagues who are monolingual Polish speakers - and you?

Thats irrelevant. Youve lived in Poland for god knows how long and still cant write a sentence. Pathetic.

Life / Immigration in Poland and being surrounded by a monoculture? [134]

Poland can only be enriched by immigration, it's population seems to be falling and there is much that other cultures can offer the country providing they don't aim to destroy Polish culture. Th

What a bunch of drivel.

History / How come Poles like Russians but not Germans? [216]

There are many different sources that show Poland has an R1a frequency between 16 and 30%. Most sites I've seen claim Russia is only 2 to 6% R1a.

I think you mean R1b.

Poland and Russia have 55 and 46 R1a.

News / Anti-atheisation institute in Poland emerging [110]

The French revolution was schemed up by Freemasons. Im not kidding.

The leading Freemasons and the Church have been enemies centuries.

wasn't that much different than French Revolution - few ruled and the rest were just puppets or else.
Soviet was a secular state which actively prosecuted religion - that the fact.
There is pattern - more secular state less freedom - people are being murdered if they resist.

Yes, many church officials were killed or imprisoned. Some of the churches were burned to the ground. People couldnt practice their religion in cases.
Most of Communistic thought is not too friendly with Church/clerics.

News / Palikot - too liberal/modern for Poland? [197]

For a second I thought that was a different topic but quickly realized it was an earlier post which I missed.

The Nolan chart looks familiar. I think thats the one Political Compass (a website) uses if I remember.
However, from what Ive seen, its still not that mainstream. Another problem is even the Nolan chart uses "left" and "right". Maybe should be renamed (I realize it says economic). I dunno.

Blah blah im going off topic.

News / Palikot - too liberal/modern for Poland? [197]

Poland is generally left wing, not right wing. SLD - left. AWS - left. PiS - left. PSL - centre left. Palikot - centre left.

According to wiki PiS is Center Right or Right Wing. Thats the most common way ive heard of them being called.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_and_Justice

Going further, wiki says PO is Center Right too...

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civic_Platform

All in all though,

I have come to a conclusion, that for different individuals or countries "left and right" will mean different things.
It might be an outdated concept for this day and age. They should really come up with a new more accurate political chart or spectrum.

News / Palikot - too liberal/modern for Poland? [197]

See legend, Palikot supporters tend to be young, educated and employed. Is that mental illness to you?

Young and inexperienced. They'll grow up one day hopefully.

It seems like staying on topic is really hard for certain crusaders in here. Miller should go and die somewhere already.

Oh the irony. So you support the death of others? How nice of you!

History / Poland is a Catholic country [177]

Are you aware that not ALL people are Catholics, and they have the same rights as you? You can't force people to live the way you want.

Secularism has proven to be antiCatholic nonsense. In fact it favors a certain tribe too.

Normal in your standards. Normal doesn't -objectivily- mean anything. Maybe you'll understand this one day.

Normal:
"conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural. "

dictionary.reference/browse/normal

Congratulations lefty you just learned something new!

Poland needs to become even more Catholic.
More traditionalist and conserative in social issues especially.
Will keep people normal and the queers angry!

News / Reorganization of Polish special forces. Strong deterrence forces needed in Poland? [19]

Also, I don't know what is the point of spending a fortune on defense when other areas are badly in need of funding, like infrastructure and health care for example.

I can agree to most of this. I am NOT suggesting Poland needs lots of these planes.
Infrastructure and health are very important.
However, every nation deserves to have a military force just in case. Im not saying get 100 brand new top of the line planes today, but if Poland could get say 24 of them that would be nice.

News / Reorganization of Polish special forces. Strong deterrence forces needed in Poland? [19]

Personally I think Poland should try to strengthen its air force. Its much more important than navy and ground in this age.
Should try to improve relations with Russia and get some Su-30 (short term) and for the "near future" get some Sukhoi PAK FA.

Currently upgraded F16s are the main jets in the airforce. Having a few extra jets from another country would be nice mix in the military.

Some countries are planning to get newer jets too.
F35 have some problems and too expensive.
F22 are nice but again too expensive.
(both American planes).

News / Reorganization of Polish special forces. Strong deterrence forces needed in Poland? [19]

Merged: Poland urgently needs strong deterrence forces

During his visit this week to the aircraft base F-16 in Lask near Lodz, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Poland needed a deterrent force so that potential enemies do not even think about attacking Poland. Air Force is one of the most important elements of the new military-political doctrine of the country.

Quietly, without public debate, and despite the deteriorating economic situation in Poland and throughout Europe, the Polish government decided that under the doctrine framework in the next 10 years the country would spend a record amount on weapons - over $45 billion.

History / Comparing Poland's communist-era slogans and propoganda with modern day concepts [23]

FAIL. Freedom of speech is guaranteed by the constitution.

Okay go outside in Germany and scream holocaust didnt happen :) Good luck!
(The buzzword "hate speech" is a cop out).

FAIL. The American forces in Europe are NATO troops - paid for by both the USA and the host countries.

How about you ask the German people.

FAIL. There's a law that allows Turkish and Kurdish people to bring their families to Germany once they've received a working permit/ permanent residency.

This has nothing to do with my point.

FAIL. What you north Americans call Marxism or socialism is social democracy at best. Everybody knows that except you... :)

Incorrect as usual (boy oh boy thats something new!).
