Exactly, Poles are West Slavs. Poland has always looked West in fact they are Western Europe. They were responsible for the Renaissance along with Italy & France.

Historically Poland contributed to Western Culture. Russian domination was an aberration.

The foreign ministers of France and Germany are due to reveal a blueprint to effectively do away with individual member states in what is being described as an "ultimatum".

Under the radical proposals EU countries will lose the right to have their own army, criminal law, taxation system or central bank, with all those powers being transferred to Brussels.

I can tell you one thing - I don't understand Kaczyński's strategy here. Had he gone in softly-softly, changed things little by little and then won the 2019 election (and with it, control of the TK), he would've been free to do what he wanted. But he's gone in so hard and so quickly that people are just angry.

That's governance. You go slowly in order to build consensus.

I think what's happening in Poland is illustrating the weakness of a Parliamentary political system. It's a winner take all system. There is no check on the majority party. Hitler did the same in Germany 80 years ago. Some of these European countries would be better suited with an American Republic where there are checks and balances and minority rights. Poland would be wise to move towards that system. It's shocking what's happening. I expected better.

Poland can't go on it's own. Poles are showing that they can't govern themselves. They need the EU to keep a check on the fascist elements in the political class. Poland is showing that when it comes to governance they are adolescents.

You know you have a successful democracy when you are able to have a peaceful transition of power. Doesn't look like that in Poland. When Poland was partitioned it was mentioned that the countries that were occupying Poland were doing it as they thought that the Poles were unable to Govern themselves. Looks like there was a lot of truth to that statement.

Muslim women wear hijabs so that men will not find them attractive because if they do and take sexual liberties the woman is held responsible. That's why in Saudi Arabia a couple of years ago a woman who was raped was charged with the crime. In Muslim society the women are responsible for the men's behavior.

I have never even heard a stereotype like that. Do you talk about uneducated British chavs who prefer to stay on benefits instead of doing lowest paid jobs? There are minorities like that in every country.

The British lack self confidence to be ambitious.

That's also a new one. But there is quite true stereotype about Polish women that they don't work and like to be taken care of by their men, how is that ambitious?

No way. Polish women are shrewd and ambitious and love to work. If you like a working wife marry a Polish girl. If you want a stay at home Mum take an English wife. English and Polish women are as different as chalk and cheese.

British women have beter sense of individualism, better sense of humour, are more ambitious, and emotionally more stable while Polish women are very often a moody cows. The only thing that Polish women beat British women on average is obesity problem, but since fast food is getting more and more popular in Poland they will catch up them quite soon.

I prefer British women also, but more ambitious? Being ambitious and being British doesn't exist...and there's no one more ambitious than Polish women.

Above is True. You're going about this the wrong way. If she doesn't get "her" wedding, it will haunt your marriage forever. Give her what she wants and you'll probably get what you spent on the wedding in the way of gifts. In a marriage the woman calls the tune for the marriage ceremony (it's her day) and the house selection. You get to make the call on how often you have sex.

If you want to blame somebody or something blame the social systems that governs all of us.

There is no reason for England to encourage Eastern European immigration, as it's not like there's a labor shortage. If you're poor English you get a roof over your head (Counsel housing), the NHS, a bit for food and a little left over to have a pint at the pub and not a pence more. The English Elite have effectively emasculated its working class. There's little wonder why England has some of the highest emigration rates.

The only place for Working class English for jobs is the USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand. Fly to the States and get a job and somebody might be able to sponsor you. If the Mexicans can do it the English certainly can. The place right now is the oil fields of North Dakota where they have an extreme shortage of strong backs.

It has everything to do with it. It's how you perceive the world. Wealthy people obsess over the value of their currency. The problem we have in the economy now (not just in the US but worldwide) is a lack of demand. Deflation not inflation. Raising the minimum wage will increase demand. Hint, Henry Ford doubled the pay of his workers in 1915 so that they could afford to buy the cars he was building, thereby increasing demand.

It doesn't help the economy when Wal Mart pays so low that the workers qualify for food stamps. That's a huge subsidy for business and contradicts the "Free Market".

As for paying fast food workers, I would have to look at their profit/loss statement. But there is something to be said for a quality workforce, that is paid well enough to hang around.

You must be from money. The minimum wage in the 1960's was equivalent to over $10/hr. and the world didn't end. Workers need to make more to spend more and circulate money throughout the economy. Our economy is slow due to low wages and no one has money to spend. BTW I'm a business owner, who if he hires someone will be in the $18-$21/hr. range.
