News / Repopulating Poland with Ukrainians? [67]

Thats what i meant by diversity:

The problem of a disappearing culture begins when you have immigration from Africa, Middle East, and South Asia. They have a completely different culture, different religion etc.

"Fascist" was not mentioned at all in this thread. Are you referring to all Ukrainians as "fascists" ?

Nope, i was referring to certain members on PF.

Thats called diversity.
Id choose hardworking Asians over fascists blaming others for their shortcomings anytime.

Love / Polish couples living out of wedlock? [108]

Child, religion is an antiquated concept for weak people.
When you are old enough you can make up your own mind if you want to be dipped.
We will have a huge party this Sunday with a lot of presents instead.
And if you play with those nutcases again, you wont get pocket money for a year. :D

Now we have his "home", "basement", "garage", "several sites across Poland" and "tried to buy them".

Which one is it?

Law / Online kantory in Poland [14]

BZWBK was a margin of just 0.075gr on the interbank Euro rate.

My kantor of choice is offering:
EURO 412

:o :o :o WOW
In Szczecin the situation is a bit different. :(
quantor.pl/kantory/szczecin.html

And yes i have negotiated in both for serious amounts, but was never able to come close to what you guys get.

Obviously normal kantors are a ripoff and exchanging money in the bank is downright stupid.
While researching alternate possibilities, i stumbled upon online kantory like:

cinkciarz.pl

Has anybody used them?
Are there any hidden costs?
Are there other ways to exchange Euros that arent a complete robbery?

Some people in the States resent monitoring by the FBI and CIA or restrictons imposed by Homeland Security (removing shoes during airport checks, etc.)

LOL, so you think removing shoes is the best they can do? They can fly you out to Guantanamo without a trial and without anybody knowing. There you will receive such nice treatments like waterboarding, sleep deprivation etc.. And all that because your neighbour didnt like your new car and planted some evidence.

Besides, anyone who's isn't sneaky or underhanded has nothing to hide.

I am sure you wouldnt mind living in a police state. I for one enjoy my privacy and resent the idea of living in fear.

The Internet is a medium like all the rest, just another stage in the development of communication and should be subjected to all the rigours and restrictions legally binding radio, TV and printed press.

No its not. Its other than the rest a two way road. There is no way in hell i would allow some selfrighteous state organs to install trojans on my computer.

You have some really strange world views...

Life / Christmas in Poland - commercial, religious, family get together or what? [23]

majonez kielecki, kapusta, barsz bialy etc...

So the no meat tradition is still alive? Do you guys have fish?
I guess thats what bumped me most culinary wise. :D
On the other hand, some non practicing german protestants have vienna sausages and potato salad(same as you get at a fast food joint). urgh

Working in the kitchen should be fine without language skills.
We even have an American church, where i worked as a driver.
Maybe they have something similar in Poland.

My Polish is a bit rusty:
homeless shelter = schronisko dla bezdomnych?
charity work = praca charytatywna?

I dont remember the word for "donate".

One positive change from the commie days, however, is the growth of charitable activites.

Thats the only positive aspect of Xmess. When im in the country, i work at the food kitchen in a homeless shelter and donate lots of stuff.

Too bad that i get into that mood once a year only.

Law / Lokaty in Poland [5]

Nope, i for instance opened it with a Gernan passport without residing in Poland.

You can btw use the "Zapytaj o produkt" link, they will call you back in English.

I'm also looking at investing in short term and long term with banks/financial institutions in Pl

I suggest you go for long term asap, as interest rates will continue to fall.

Its a trick banks do to avoid paying the 19% Capital Gains Tax.

You basically make a life insurance for 12 months. If you live you get the cash + 5.1%, if you die your beneficiary gets it.
