News / Corporate-linked EC attacks Poland's retail tax; govt suspends collection [74]

What do you hear when you see the Schultzes, Junkers and other EU stooges rolling in dough from all the kickbacks and spouting pharasaic rhetoric about European values, community solidarity, etc.

I cannot make sense of your communist rants, but I take it the PiS government intends to jack up taxes?

News / Boeing or Airbus - which ones would be better for the Polish Airlines (LOT)? [35]

In an open letter to the country's prime minister, Europe's largest aerospace group accused the Warsaw government of shifting the goalposts as Airbus competed with U.S. and Italian rivals and attempting to contravene European Union regulations.

Airbus Group Chief Executive Tom Enders accused Poland of misleading the company during negotiations and threatened further action, without giving details.

"Never have we been treated by any government customer the way this government has treated us," Enders said in a separate emailed statement.

"The controversial and contradictory declarations of the Polish government over the course of this procurement proceedings created the impression of unprecedented confusion," he said

This is what Poland is facing, and our 'leaders' choose to alienate and insult our allies.

News / Poland -- Europe's only counterweight to Russia [271]

Russia has the worlds largest arsenal of nuclear weapons and they would use them.

A dead Pole cannot fight back and have you forgotten that Russia invaded Poland three times in the 20th centuary and only stopped occupying in 1991?

Putin wants to reinstate the Russian Empire - which includes Poland. They didn't seem to have any problem with doing so before.

Wake out from your western fantasy, the reality is that if Poland left Nato Russia would invade and occupy Poland immediatly to restore its border.

News / Poland -- Europe's only counterweight to Russia [271]

Poland has nothing that Russia wants.

Russia wants Poland as part of Russia. You are incredibly naive to think that Nato is a threat to Poland, without Nato Russia would reoccupy its former empire. Its purpose is to provide a buffer zone to fight a war.

Russia's plans was nuclear annilation for Poland - the Russia father land would escape. Nuking all neutral capitial cities to destroy their 'culture'.

Even 7 years ago they were planning a nuclear attack on Warsaw followed by invasion

And today they are moving nuclear missiles into the Kaligrad enclave to threaten Poland

News / Poland -- Europe's only counterweight to Russia [271]

As I said, they want the a Russian/German border, they don't believe that any other countries exist in between.

Nato has move their border and created non-countries such as Poland and Ukraine.

This is not my 'opinion', if you beleive in an independent Poland you should read Russian views on the subject.

would you want a bunch of pikeys setting up camp across the road from you and $hitting on your doorstep.

Pretty much how Poland etc are viewed from Russia, installed by Nato

Poland should boot Nato and American forces / assets out of the country. Poland has nothing that Russia wants,

Except a border with German. Russia attitude towards the border countries is that they are part of Russia, they don't think Poland/Ukraine/Baltic states should exist.

News / Abortion still under control in Poland [2971]

I've read that morning after pills will be banned as well

Won't stop them becoming more popular will it?

Hopefully also intimacies limited to wedlock with less overall fornication and adultery.

Really, how the hell will it make a difference? Please explain.

What will the unintended consequences of this law?

Increase in the use of the fertility pill?
Morning after pill?
Increased use of condoms?
Fall in the birth rate and demographic issues as a result
Fall in support of the catholic church?
Increased emigration.
Happy pensioners

Work / Finding work as an EU citizen (Polish) in another EU country [21]

(Linkedin does not count),

Sorry, in the UK at least LinkedIn is vital.

I have experiences as a Bank Teller, Research analysis, Technical support, and Software quality assurance.

Sounds pretty good. You may well find work in London with that and your arabic would probably be of great help.

However, the UK is leaving the EU and your future would be uncertain.

You will need a clean (and provable) criminal record.

That's why arranging a job BEFORE you go is so important.

Not being availabe for an interview, being out of country, would a big negative I think

News / Talks on re-polonising Pekao bank under way [58]

Don't tell me it's a feather in any country's cap if it doesn't produce a single make of car, if most banks and breweries have their HQs abroad and nealry all of the products on its market are produced and sold by foreign-owned firms.

From someone who pays tax in America.

Making the banks 'Polish', will have no effect whatsoever in improving the entrepreneurial spirit of Poland. Taxation and ZUS need to be reformed. Socialist party members removed from government owned companies which should be privatised (sell shares to the people)

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2779]

More than I use to by coming here Petie, isn't that what the P.F. is all about ?

If your knowledge of Poland has been increased by coming here, I guess you starterted with Zero.

I share with my Polish friends the gun laws in the U.S. that they are inquisitive about and the actual statistics that the news media puts a spin on in order to sensationalize how bad handguns are or just leaves out of the story.

Some unusual friends you have there. My Polish gun owning family and friends could not give a flying F*** about the US gun laws, statistics or hand gun ownership in general. They have all the guns the want and need, for hunting for fun for whatever. Killing people or defending themselves against an non existant threat doesn't even enter it.

Polish people need to get the all the facts before supporting such a legislation.

They are not interested in the facts, guns or legislation. You are, apparetly its an obsession. But nobody on this side of the Atlantic considers it worthy of debate.

So why attack the Polish govt for doing it, even though to the best of my knowledge they still haven't done so.

I didn't specifically attack the Polish government for doing it. Its a dangerous practice whoever does it.

You seem to be under the impression that you have to own a bank to control it whereas controlling the currency and the banks themselves is in the hands of the government, right now.

I always thought that only the commies did stuff like that.

No, all countries have done it, its dates back (at least) to Roman times, debasing the silver currency with base metals.

Every country is doing it now with QE

News / Talks on re-polonising Pekao bank under way [58]

A foreign bank may turn down a government's request for a loan if said government is at war with the bank's home country.

FFS, do you live in Napoleonic times?

Governments sell bonds to investors all over the world in an auction. The interest rate is related to the risk of a government not paying it back. Poland has no trouble selling its bonds.

They do not got to a bank and ask for a ******* Chest of Gold to buy muskets and gunpowder.

People from countries who have not experienced such problems should be careful about projecting their views onto Poland

What country do you live in? Have you ever lived and worked in Poland?

A foreign back in Poland is under the control of the Polish regulator, its could no more 'demand a loan' from a foreign bank than it could a Polish owned bank.

All Poland needs to do is ask the central bank to print money.. manufacture it out of paper, which is the cause of inflation and the destruction of an ecomony. Hyperinflation already destroyed the Polish economy once.

State or private is not important. What's important that these are Polish-owned banks. Who owns the banks, calls the shots.

You continue to display a bizzare view of the world. The banks do not call the shots, the Polish regulator does. Polish banks have to do whatever the Polish government tell them too, becuase Poland is the guarantor and controls the currency.

The money lent to Polish customers comes from capital held by the banks, so Poles are benifiting from foreign money (and to a far lessor amount Polish bank deposits).

Anyone can setup a bank, as long as they are honest and have the policiies, procedures and financial backing.

There is nothing stopping the Polish governement setting up a bank, the problem is Poland already owns the biggest bank but customer CHOOSE not to use it BECAUSE its owned by the Polish government and therefore, by definition, CRAP.

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2779]

That's how we do things in America, comrade.

Talk endlessly about irrelevant garbage?

I'd sugguest we have a discussion about installing Communism in the USA and setting up Putin as President for Life. But only Crow would be bonkers enough to think it would be really good idea that needs debating.

Yet you Americans insist on discussing moronic *****, of the same level, on Polish Forum.

And Jonny Reb, does he ever discuss Poland, he apparently knows nothing about it.
