Feedback / Daily/Weekly Polls (suggestion) [19]

On the contrary, they would be the source of futher foment ;)

I agree

want polls too. I asked for them once and the admin/mods said no.
But really it cant get worst than it already is.

if its so bad here why do you stay?

There are all walks of life, we will never agree with everyone, people say things without filters, when the mods catch
it they do what is needed.

The way I see it, if they make the decision to make a arse of themselfs so what? this isnt jail, its a forum, and people

have opinions we all have to try to respect each other, sometimes thats not a option, we get random idiots , but its a open
forum, i can tell you I was on another forum before I came to this one, and it was far worse, there was a favorite poster, he said

what ever the heck he wanted, it was moderated alright, the forum was boring and uneventful, the people were ok, but one post
out of line and they kicked you out, And it wasnt like this forum,

there are some who get away with stuff, I think the mods give alot of chances to those who do offend and try to get them to stop

but they dont listen, when they do get suspended then people are B*tching that they are gone and its boring in here.

of all the forums THIS POLISH FORUM comes up on top of all the forums, online I dont even need to save to my favs cause its the

TOP of the list online for forums to come to... so those who think its so bad, no one forces you to stay, if you try to keep a open

mind and understand that theres alot of work put into this forum from the beginning, and they do what is necessary to keep it calm

but its like at a soccer game or football game, once one guy tosses a chair all hell breaks loose, its hard to control the crowd!!

Genealogy / Americans of Polish descent. How many of us are on Polish forums? [216]

Most of the traditons we still celebrate have to do with Christmas, and food.

lucky you :)

I guess I do the same, its just not the same foods

also got to meet my relatives in person then

excellent :)

Someday I am going to meet my Polish Brother and his family * he knows who he is*

Its nice to hear that your family still carrys on the same traditions. I can tell its fading here, festivals are not the same
like when I was a kid, the change is evident. I think the older generations made the difference.

actually I know they did.

News / Heavy storm / tornados cause chaos and flooding in Poland [23]

I can't remember one as devastating as this in Europe, we may have had mini ones before but I think they're quite rare.

my Brother said the same thing, he told me about it I read it on here and heard it online, yes two a year is rare compared to the states

we get the worst in the midwest tornado alley, but this one does look like something out of one of the clips from the weather

channel storm chasers!

We lived in a old house near a farm and open land, *WORST PLACE* anyways, I remember as a kid, hearing the windows bangin
like they wanted to blow in. my parents went out , I was sleeping upstair with my sister and she was older * teen* she shushed me up

and said just go back to sleep.. good thing it didnt hit our house, but it was at night, who would have found us if it would have hit the

house we would have been all over the place in the fields.. scarey!

to this day I am still mad at my sister for not taking us down stairs, there was a basement , which is the safe place to be during

these storms.

Genealogy / Is Czarnecki Really A Polish Or Actually A Sephardic Jewish Surname? [110]

disagreeing is not highjacking.

highjacking a thread is

Example: talking about highjacking a thread which is what you are doing as well, your highjacking your own thread instead of
leaving it as it was and just messaging our mods and so thus that is a highjack of the first kind!! :)

Is Czarnecki Really A Polish Or Actually A Sephardic Jewish Surname?

I know nothing about Jewish History, so I cant elaborate, but I have seen the name Czarnecki in alot of older records in the beginning

of my research with my family, in one peticular parish. I think it was polish roots..

if you need more information on Jewish there is a JRI poland site, its basically jewish, but very informative.

I frequent JewishGen,

just seems like you would get more of a answer to your request from a site that deals with jewish surnames Vs Polish forum, not that

there wouldnt be someone who would come along and answer this question eventually, but I think you will have more sucess/less stress
on the subject.

Is Czarnecki Really A Polish Or Actually A Sephardic Jewish Surname?

sephardim.com/search.shtml

in this website it has a names database, but also does give you emails to two gentlemen who might be able to assist further
in your questions

Best of luck in your research.

Thank you for your help

you are welcome. Nicki, you are a smart girl, I am sure you will find what you are lookin for , meantime I would try to keep

open mind, others might not be so receptive , its happened in my research as well, you just have to keep on trying as we
all do with everything in life. you will get setbacks, but thats expected, just move forward.

and try to not take everything to heart because sometimes people misunderstand each other, and might not realize your
real intentions as you misunderstand theirs which may not be meant to upset you to begin with.

hope that makes sense :)

Love / Best way to find a Polish husband...ideas? [120]

I am stumped as to how I can find a guy who is move in or husband material,

Here i go with the motherly instincts.. lol

my daughter asked me the same thing not to long ago, let me just say, love isnt something you force. you have a visual of him

* the guy you want* but think about it, are you putting standards to high that you might wind up missing the right guy?

another thing to know, love is something that grows, its not like when you look at a person and suddenly you want to go to bed

with them, attraction helps, but you have to have something in common with them, other then the bedroom, sometimes the guy for
you might be right there and you havent seen him because you want prince charming.

my daughter was so in love with this boy last year, he liked her for a friend only, she cried to me saying, all I want is to be with

someone, but she finally seen this boy she fell for who he really was. his true colors came out, so she decided to just focus on her

school and friends, and 6 months later, she meets this really nice boy who likes her for who she is, he thinks she is beautiful, he is

a gentleman , he takes her out to dinners and movies and they have fun all the time, And all she had to do was stop trying so hard

to find that one guy,

hes out there, and trust me , hes looking for you, you will meet up soon, but dont analyze every guy, have fun, let them know your

a good girl and keep their paws off and focus on you and I predict you will be married in couple years.

And once your married, remember to try to not change this person, dont try to change a bad boy, let the bad boy change himself

because then it only ends in disaster, if you love someone, you dont need to change them, they should be who they are because thats

what you loved about them to begin with and when you love someone, you love everything about them and there shouldnt be anything
you want to change.

Love / Best way to find a Polish husband...ideas? [120]

polka, all they are saying is just stop trying to picture this guy or make him into a calender man.

its ok to have dreams, but let someone share that with you, let the woman out and shove the little girl in the closet!!

so to speak.. come out of your shell, it might be you pushing it all away. least thats what I am seeing.

* you built a shell over you and you wont bust out till the perfect man comes along*

crack that egg hot momma and go find you a hunka hunka burning love!! lol

Genealogy / DNA Testing in Poland. Is it popular? [81]

But which 12 percent? ;-)

lol my arm?

how come? the problem with DNA is not properly understood.

Well I think they understand something, it pin pointed one cousin who is actually my cousin on my mothers side, said
we were 4th cousin, ironically, my cousin did his tree and sent his dna without knowing anything about my sending,

my family name isnt up there that far on the tree. i only have my dads side up at this point.

so they are on to something.

Love / She has planned it from the beginning? Husband's daugter living in Poland with her mother. [9]

if he is the father, then he should pay for her support, she didnt stop being his daughter when the mother slammed the door in his

face

we have no extra money for hand outs.

This statement is so wrong, especially if your talking about a child whos situation could be yours.. would you want
his wife ( if the situation was switched) to say this? the child is still his daughter and he is responsible for her, its not
about anything else, he could have just sent her money all along and then the amount wouldnt be so much.

hopefully you dont experience the same.

I wish you luck but the children are innocent in these cases and its sad that you dont see this for his daughters sake thats your

daughters half sister, so you should understand she also needs care and her stepfather ( if his ex remarried ) isnt responsible
for her, the father is responsible.

Love / She has planned it from the beginning? Husband's daugter living in Poland with her mother. [9]

in order to avoid unnecessary comments (and insults),

I didnt insult, I was on that other end of the stick, in need of help from the father, and he got a lawyer and the lawyer got money

but bottom line is, if its your child, your responsible, the judge cant take more then you make, but hes not going to just say awww

poor you and not order some support, even if its not that much , least its something.

my ex tried the same thing, he wound up paying more for a lawyer and didnt need one, so he wasted more money for nothing

and still has to pay. sounds like the laws are the same. BUT he should have visitation, every little child deserves to be with their

daddy as well. its just a unfortunate situation.

Everyone is filled with hate and jealousy anymore. Sad really.

I really agree with this statement, its all to apparent , I see no point in creating a thread about it either.

but Maybe those people who claim to be adults , truely havent reached puberty yet?

Genealogy / Polish genome - are you familiar with it [58]

On 14 April 2003, a document was published , confirming the completion of sequencing the genome with 99% accuracy of 99.99%. Since that time it was possible to do more acurate research about our Polish ancestry by Polish researchers .

amazing information, I actually learned something , so in essence my family was basically in Poland for about 3000 years or so
according to this and some of the reading I did , scandinavian dna and of course finland, which is a small amount. So whomever
was my 30th great great grandfather ( so to speak) was part of the beginning of Poland.

So delph I say again , your were right I was not actually understanding what you meant, now i do, so to what is known about DNA

and Polish that I am basically like the ones who are in Poland now, and that is pretty cool to have this much information , it gives

me a better light on which direction I can or might take with my genealogy as well.

its funny, how i never seen this thread, but I guess I was meant to wait to see it , had I seen it earlier I would have not given

thought to it because I didnt have any DNA results to compare it to, so my DNA is actually the Norm for what they consider to be

Polish.

Genealogy / Polish and Russian DNA? [52]

Pat save your money these tests cannot tell you anything significant about your family history, its not going to be CSI PF.

on the contrary Barney, I am glad i did it, because it gave me more information then I realized, seeing that there are studies and even

a thread on here about this, and you must have missed it.

They may throw in a percentage of some native North American just to spice the picture up.

nope, none of this.

Add in all the ones I dont know about

although I did run into a actualy 4th cousin, that ancestry didnt know I knew about, because its not online anywhere, my moms
family which I think what they found was possibly the maternal side of my family, which I didnt even get close with names on
any of them being focused on the paternal lines, its due time to switch it up a bit.

might be more of a challenge, but I want to see if I can track down at least one.

I might have to do my grandmothers side from my dad.

Pickled herrings

USA, Canada / Do Polish guys like American girls? [103]

disagree. I met my ex online in a snowboard forum, and we dated for 5 years and everything was great. We only split because of the distance and me not willing to move to Poland.

sorry to hear this , its never easy a long distance relationship, But its true, they should be careful, you never know if the person
behind the screen is a male portraying a female.

The fact that I am personally related to every member of PF fills me with a warm, fuzzy feeling of kinship. With exceptions.

oh put the bottle away, lol

ahem I said so to speak lol

but anyone coming from the good old world

thats funny , hows your straw house doing? lol

They sure as **** can impress your average illegal Mexican and your random Cambodian family,

if you were in the burbs you wouldnt see nothing but nice cars and well kept homes..

Life / Is this more related to being raised in Polish culture, or a medical psychiatric disorder? [17]

I think theres a whole lot more underlying , I wont elaborate here.

People become negative because of negative experiences. lack of love, other situations. hopefully thats not the case
but if someone feels ignored they tend to lean towards the negative side.

I think you know why, you just didnt want to discuss it here possibly. but just remember you dont have to be that way to

get attention, and soon it will backfire and cause those who do care about you to back away and you dont want that.
if you feel you need to talk to someone further I suggest you do before it spirals. you seem like you want help, otherwise
you wouldnt have posted it. so I strongly suggest you gather your thoughts on what you really want and get this fixed asap.

Law / UK dad - Polish mum - getting a child checked for paternity reasons... Poland [4]

(ive reasons to doubt either way).

so what your saying is during the time of your relationship your girlfriend cheated on you? or she was seeing someone
else while she was seeing you? you should clear up the confusion so that others can help cause you sound more confused
then the situation.

if you doubt this child is yours you should get a DNA test if you believe she isnt yours. but in the defense of the mother if your

just saying it because you dont want any responsibility , then dont worry about it, sounds like the mother has everything under
control.. anyone can father a child, it takes a real man to be a dad.

an old and very true saying.

Genealogy / WWII Veteran information (he moved to America from Poland in 1929) [2]

I would like to find out more about his service during the war, where could I go to help with this?

Rudy, if you give me a name i can see if I can find some info on ancestry for you, there is however a site for veterans

let me check some stuff, my uncle served in foreign war so I think for that its veterans of foreign wars.. I am not sure

but I can try to locate something for you to start with. HOPEFULLY.
