Love / Polish Women Versus Your Local Women ? [289]

POSCO, you clearly did not respect her. Probably she needed more than just sex for itself and you were not able to give it to her.

And rest of you who say that polish or american or whatever nationality are bad in bed/bad gf etc after sleeping with one girl - no comment.

USA, Canada / The proper behavior an American should show when visiting Poland [115]

I would suggest to not comment in the bad way all the church-stuff and our history. Mostly it's about history, people get very offended and aggressive when some foreigners say things which are not as Poles were taught.

And from my personal experience - dont criticise food :P you dont have to like it but you are a guest so keep it for urself.

The other things are as already was said - the same rules are everywhere else in Europe so i guess in USA as well. You can wear shorts and flip flops even but not to the more posh restaurants so the same as in other countries.

Life / How would you describe the Polish sense of humour? [66]

a woman on heels and stockings lifting her skirt in front of foreigners asking them:Have you seen Warsaw by night?

I dont get the joke :S I think i m not a real Pole :(

I like jokes about square rabbits and fly-bane going to Jerosolima.

Food / Polish Milk Soup [72]

The noodle was like a pasta knot as I can remember it looked like. Really good.

It's milk soup, in my family called kluski lane na mleku (can be done not with milk, with chicken broth etc), in others - zacierka.

I think many people here confuse milk soup with zurek/bialy barszcz. Just coz something is white it doesnt mean it's milk soup :P in polish cousine we add sort of cream (smietana) to whiten the soup, so tomato soup is not so red coz of the smietana etc. Bialy barszcz is also whitish coz of cream and not coz it has milk in it.

Genealogy / THE MEANING AND RESEARCH OF MY POLISH LAST NAME, SURNAME? [4500]

1. Are Prussian's part Russian, Polish and German?

Here is some infos about Prussia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prussia

2. Is "unka" or "Yonka" a Russian or Polish or German name

I have never heard of the name Unka (I am Polish). I did some search online and i am pretty sure it's not polish name. On the website of Rada Jezyka Polskiego they wrote that the name is not present in any sources containing the list of names (old or the newer ones).

Yonka - maybe it should be Janka? If Janka then it's Polish.

3. "Prain" both from Prussia?

It doesnt sound Polish at all. Most likely German.

Life / If I could introduce something from my country into Poland, I would.... [175]

All of Poland is closed on that day. Even the dogs will be afraid to bark for fear of excommunication.
If Poland is to compete successfully with the West, it MUST rid itself of Catholic control.

What's wrong in people having at least few days off and not working 7 days a week? a person doesnt need to be catholic to want to spend some time with family.

Food / Your all time favourite Polish Dishes! [108]

Ahh ha sausage rolls i see, share em out come on dont be shy, paszteciki z miesem:

Paszteciki are not really sausage rolls, inside is not a sausage, it's some kind of meaty filler, it tastes differently and it is made differently as well. Go and have some, you will know :P

I forgot to add - why Poles should call dishes with English names? O_o even if they were English...

Food / BREAD IN POLAND IS DETERIORATING [90]

In the UK in Sainsburys they have something similar to kajzerki, way better than the other buns like ciabattas and other.
Also, here you can buy polish bread but it tastes so different than the one which u can buy in Poland. Pre-packed bread is just a crime imho.

Love / Ten things to remember when you have a Polish girlfriend [79]

I think this shows how you think about (Polish) women in general

It is a well known fact that men who cant get laid are bad mouthing all women whom they desire but whom they cant have from whatever reason. So we know southern and MiguelColombia are virgins

Love / Ten things to remember when you have a Polish girlfriend [79]

How did you determine that they are virgins?

i was exaggerating as u could see but often it happens that people who were hurt or rejected by someone are bad mounthing the whole group from where that person came from. It applies as much to men as to women really.

History / The Two Saddest Nations on Earth... Poles and Jews [243]

I dont know where all you people got experiences with Jews - i certainly dont know anyone who would be Jew (i m talking about BEING a Jew, not about the situation when someone thinks a person is Jew coz has big nose etc). Of course I've seen them on the streets etc but have never spoke to any. I guess most Poles have the same experience as me (none) - there were lots of Jews in Poland but not any more.

Life / Languages understandable by Poles? [38]

Are you sure? Because I only know a little Polish and I can understand spoken Russian a bit.

Maybe you only think that you can understand Russian coz there are lots of words which sound similar and in fact they have totally different meaning. And yes, i am sure Poles cant talk with Russians using their own languages (i am native Polish speaker).

We can communicate quite easly with Czechs and Slovaks (similarly as Italians with Spanish speakers) but there are also words which sounds the same or almost the same and have different meanings which is confusing and sometimes err embarassing :D
