History / What do Poles think about Turks? [761]

I do like turks. During Euro 2008 I kept my fingers crossed for your NT.

In our history we were enemies and we were firends. But turks unlike germans or russians respected Poles as a strong and brave nation. After our victory in Vienna defeated turks admire Sobieski as a great leader and soldier. after decades of partition of Poland, Turkey was the first country that recognized my country as a independent state.

Today the problem is that as a islamic country Turkey is often consider as a potential threat to the western and christian civilisation. These days for many people in western world muslim = terrorist. I cant say that Im free from this prejudice. Besides all, turks have my sympathy.

(sorry for my english. i havent been speeking/writing eng for years)

Life / Polish films... where to find them? [51]

no, not at all. if you dont have an account after downloading one file you have to wait about 75 minutes to continue. Its a little bit uncomfortable cause downloading one movie takes whole day.

If you prefer torrents you can register on torrenty.org ( via sms, cost about 5 pln ). best torrent download tools are utorrent.com & bittorrent.com/download

History / History of Poland in 10 minutes. Really worth seeing! [134]

I didn't know it was only Polish-Lithuanian army that won the Grunvald battle.

there's many things you don't know. blame russian education (propaganda) system. Russians are good in makeing vodka but they've never wrote a good history book :)))

The Poles had provided a formidable army of 18000 knights, 11000 retainers and 4000 foot soldiers, to which must be added 11000 Lithuanian knights and foot soldiers, 1100 Tartars and about 6000 Bohemians, Russians, Moravians and Moldavians who came to help the Polish-Lithuanian State.

you ruskas were drop in the ocean :)

Food / Do Polish people really love cabbage ?? [78]

In Russian we also use word "kapusta" as a slang word for "money" and some do say to kids that they were either found in the kapusta or brought by "aist" (stork).

same here

I wonder if you guys have a in Polish a legend (mostly spreaded among girls) that eating cabbage makes your breast grow?

if this legend is popular in russia i belive that russian girls must fart a lot
