Life / Another reason Polish people and Poland pisses me off [52]

it has to be learnt not to write at szczęśćie or szczęścze or śczęszcie etc etc

Bs. Any Pole can hear the difference. Polish kids write everything by sounds they hear.
What has to be learnt is h/ch, ó/u etc

News / Raising Poland's legal drinking age to 21 [95]

Celebrations one twice a year ok (I mean little and at about 16) but giving a young person alcohol on regular basis is...stupid frankly speaking. And it's not only about alcoholism but general impact of alcohol.

As a kid I was allowed bear foam. As a teenager I could take a sip or two of wine or beer. The first proper drink I was allowed with the grown-ups was after I turned 18.

Btw, an adult can be charged for giving alcohol to under 18. Even 16/17 yo

Life / Anything like netflix in Poland? [27]

Internet says they are. I'm not in Warsaw so I can't say. There are phone numbers and addresses so you are free to check.

UK, Ireland / What can I say/do about my Polish neighbours in the UK? [65]

If I am in your house I guess i can **** on your floor and molest your daughter and you can't ask me to leave

Learn to read before you post.
I said 'to the same standard'. I don't know about you but I don't sh*t on the floor or molest kids.

If someone commits a crime they should be arrested and go to court. If the court decides that way they should be deported but being a noisy neighbour' hardly applies.

Language / Game - guess Polish idioms/sayings in direct English translation [1756]

To head butt someone?

No. That would be to hit sb from a bull (walnąć kogos z byka)

Maybe there is a better translation but I don't want to make it too easy just yet.

Now something that really could be used here tonight. It's not really in the letter of this thread but definitely in the spirit. As you guys know I'm from Silesia and while I don't know Silesian too well I know few things and here is one

wyciepać na hasiok

Love / She's muslim and I am christian, will it ever work? Has anyone had similar experiences [63]

It hurts. Even considering the fact that she's so intelligent and knows more than me about my religion.

It seems both your friends and your girlfriend have some prejudices to work on.
While you can ignore your friends if you choose so I would have a serious conversation with your girlfriend.as you both have to respect each other believes and be prepared on how to raise the kids. In the successful Muslim-Christian relationship I know the Muslim attended all family occasions celebrated in church and in their bedroom they have symbols of both religions standing side by side.

Food / What do non-Poles think about eating the following Polish foods? [1428]

Made this today and I love it!

Happy about it :) od you want I can throw few morerecipies for different kaszottos your way.

I thought it might be pearl barley but it's not quite the same

Poles make few kinds depending on how much processing it needs. The one for krupnik is descaled polished(?) And crushed/broken into small pieces.

I really do like kasza gryczana prazona with meat and gravy

Picture is not mine but from this site:

Easy to make. My proportion:
6 grated, hard boiled eggs, one small, chopped fried onion, one raw egg and bread crumbs enough to be able to form them. Then roll them in bread crumbs on the outside and fry. Voila

Usually served with dill or mushroom gravy/souce

@Chemikiem

Kaszotto

Slightly dry one garlic clove, add one chopped leek (just white and light green part) sprinkle with a bit of black pepper, cover and let the leek soften a bit. Open and move to the side and add chicken (about 250,300 g cut into small pieces and spiced with salt, pepper and a tsp of oregano. Let it dry until chicken is cooked, add the buckwheat (recipie calls for bormal one but I used roasted as I love the taste) mix everything and fry for about a minute. Pour in 2/3 cup of water mixed with 3 tbsp of soy souce . Cover and let the buckwheat cook for about 5,10 minutes. Stir in chopped Chinese leave (as much as you can get out of one :) ). Cover and cook for few minutes then open and let the liquid reduce. Add some spinach if you like. Done.

Recipie for krupnik a bit later.

Here is one of the standard 'lack of meat' PRL dishes
