maybe he/she thought I have magical powers.

If your post was binned, and you still had a few minutes editing time, then it is possible to edited the post removing moderators comments etc. This DID happen with one of your posts, I wouldn't have said anything if it wasn't true.

Do you mean there are different rules for different people, Vincent?

I didn't say that Harry, so don't blow it out of proportion. I meant exactly what I said in my last post. You asked a question and I give you an answer.

So is it five warnings and then a ban or the fifth warning is a ban?

Not at all Harry, a "rouge" member might get banned after a few warnings, depending on their past history on PF. Their past suspensions would probably be taken into account too, when deciding if they will be banned for good or not. Hope this clears up your query.

What makes a meaningless post?

It could be a post that has nothing to do with the subject of the title, and one that probably takes the thread off topic. The threads on the main forums are for discussion about Poland and Polish people.

So we should just post now if we discover something extremelly meaningful, like the cure for cancer?

Unless the cure is discovered in Poland, I wouldn't bother. If a cure is found, then it will be all over the TV news and news papers, so it will be very hard to miss.

Language / What computer keyboards are in use in Poland? [34]

I was wondering if they were genuine (its rare but occasionally even Amazon makes mistakes)!

They are a reputable company, I would hardly think they would make a mistake like that. It would be a lot of unnecessary trouble for them, if costumers keep sending them back because they weren't 'as described'.

Why have you merged my question with this thread? It hasn't been active in almost a year.

Thanks to you it's active again and top of the pile. 'Kot koo' would probably be close enough for her to understand you.

Ok, to be precise it goes: "I think the world was possibly too much with me"

I would say "for me" is correct, and "with" just doesn't sound right. Maybe one of our English teachers on PF will give a proper answer soon.

How should I understand this phrase: "the world is too much with me"?

At first glance, it doesn't look right or sound right. Here is an old poem called "The world is too much for us" which may help to explain your query.

"Słownik Języka Polskiego" from 1905

Maybe it was slang and didn't make it into the dictionary. Anyway, you can call your grandmother whatever you want, as long as you still get your extra pocket money:)

I'm no expert, but I think this is where it all started and just survived through all the years. Probably a short form of endearment like the UK , grandma , granny, nan and nanny. It comes up too often, not to have a grain of truth in it.

Seems it may be a bit more common, from what you first thought :)

Life / Do Polish names generally have a meaning to them or a particular structure?. [88]

Hello everybody! This is my first ever thread, so go easy on me!

All I need to know is if Polish names generally have a meaning to them or a particular structure.

I can see that you're a man who doesn't believe in searching the forum for information or gives any thought for a good thread title. There are 93 pages on Polish surnames here
