News / Corruption scanadal in the European Parliament [30]

among those suspected is the vice-president of the chamber Eva Kaili from Greece - and these people wanted to teach Poland the rule of law

News / THE ARMY OF POLAND - THE REALITY [493]

I didn`t notice such "hysteria"

he didn't say "histeria" in his post - and you were personally histeriac about the dismissal of German Patriots by the Polish government - the sad truth is that Germany is (unfortunately not openly) hostile to Poland's interests and that Patriot stunt was cheap trick that would cost Germans exactly nothing

Life / I'm from China and I would like to ask about the real experience of life in Poland [44]

The air pollution is not caused by poor people

smog is not caused by power generation simple as that - if it were, Bełchatów, Turoszów and Opole areas would be among those most affected and they are not - smog is caused by low level emissions, just plenty of them and this is caused by burning coal - it happened so that coal was the cheapest option to heat your house not so long ago (we heat our house with coal for the very reason - I don't live in a city so, yeah, don't jump on me for causing smog in Kraków or Warsaw)

News / PO to boycott TVP in Poland [37]

the Warsaw District Court decided to dismiss the claim of the public broadcaster in its entirety.

that's how subordinate to PiS judges are

regulations which would allow them to control the judiciary and make them rule as PiS demands.

this is your private opinion (of course you are entitled to have your own opinions however unbased in reality and hysterical they are)

@Tacitus

maybe I am wrong but what I heard is that there is no definition on rule of law in the European treaties and if ECJ rules anything about it it would mean it is creating law not interpeting it or applying it (which means we are no longer in a democracy but in juristocracy) - not so long ago the current United States Supreme Court overturned the long established ruling of the Supreme Court on abortion (Roe vs Wade) argumenting that the previous ruling was an excess of power (since in the tripartition of powers courts are supposed to apply the law not to create it)

Germans want to give Patriots to Poland,

first of all we don't need Patriots at the moment since Russia is not waging war on us - for Germans it was an empty gesture that would not cost them anything while there is unsettled question of billions in reparations - Germany is also (not so openly unfortunately) hostile to the current government

anyway your (German) narration that German Patriots cannot be given to Ukraine was refuted by no other than the NATO secretary general

Gumi prefers

anyway Germany's minister of defenece's statement that Patriot systems cannot be given to Ukraine without consultations with other NATO nations were dismissed by the general secretary of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg - he said that it is a national decision

They suggested to send the system to Ukraine, knowing perfectly well that NATO armament may only be operated within NATO borders.

yeah, that's why Americans send HIMARS's, Javelins and their howitzers to Ukraine, you idiot

History / What do Poles owe to Hungarians? [275]

Czechs or Romanians could only dream of such a status.

sure: then why part of the former Hungarian Kingdon part of the empire was given to the post-war Austria (based on ethinical criteria)

with Hungarians for 15 minutes without Trianon being brought up

isn't it ironic that the winners of the 1st World War who wanted self-determination of nations elsewhere gave areas of Hungarian majority often bordering the carved down Hungary to their neighbours - also I never heard of any Hungarian officials publically voicing the desire of Hungarian authorities to collect the lands back - if you have, please do link them up

This means Toroczkai wishes to strip Ukraine of its territory

this is as significant as some fringe Polish nationalist wanting Lwów to return to Poland

News / Poland to officially demand $1.32 trillion WW2 reparations from Germany [457]

Up until '45, present-day Polish cities such as "Wroclaw", "Szczecin" or "Gdansk" bore German names!

they all bore German names that didn't mean a thing in German - they were simply germanised Slavic names

of driving without a valid driving licence

I'm sorry to have misrepresented the incident a bit - Piotr Najsztub had a valid driving licence in the time of the incident (from what I can gather after reading up on the subject) be he didn't have it on himself - back then having a DL with you while driving was compulsory (it isn't anymore thanks to digital technologies implemented by the police)

Piotr Najsztub had a valid driving licence in the time of the incident

ok, I read up some more - it turns out Najsztub actually didn't have a valid driving licence since it was withheld by the police some time earlier becuase of his previous driving offences -

Edit: it turns out he kept on driving without a valid DL for 8 years (since the police has withheld his licence in 2009)

I'm on your boat

anyway - judges in Poland have complete independence ( save for a couple of them who have been suspended) as proven by plenty of verdicts that not only go against the wishes of the ruling party but also against the general sense of justice (for example a verdict on an influential journalist Piotr Najsztub (critical of PiS) has hit an elderly woman on a pedestrian crossing while driving without a valid DL and without current proof that his car was road-worthy - he was acquitted because as the judge said : it is impossible to state how speedy was the elderly woman while entering the crossing)

Language / Helping Non Polish Student studying in Public School [32]

in the classroom while the lesson is in progress?

sure, if parents pay for it then why not

Just need some kind of guidance

I would actually be willing and ready to help your kids with school as I have plenty of time on my hands (of course if your children know at least basic English) - after I figure out if I can still use my skype account (haven't used it in years)

Real Estate / Can I buy land in Poland remotely? [14]

if you want to become a lawful owner of a plot of land you have to arrange a visit to a notary (i.e. you have to do it in person (the other option is a plenipotentiary but since you live abroad it would be even more complicated)
