Food / What is your favorite Polish Vodka? [653]

You might be surprised, but the best polish vodka is Luksusowa.

I agree. Failing that, I like Sobieski. Forget premium vodka. It's nothing like the difference between blended and single malt Scotch.

USA, Canada / What kind of American food do Poles like most? [80]

Put a turkey in a couple of plastic bags, add a bottle of red wine- prefer a dry red-and stick it in the fridge. Turn the turkey about ever 6 hours or so for 23 hours and it's ready to cook, either in an oven or in an outdoor homemade smoker over charcoal. Believe me, it won't be dry, not even the white meat. I've cooked this in Poland and all my friends loved it.Ah, if only a whole turkey wasn't so expensive here!

Food / Where can I buy lamb in Poland? [89]

I've bought fresh lamb twice from two different shops in Hala Targowa (Gdansk) but I don't remember the price. I'll check tomorrow. Frankly, it was just OK, but one of them later sold me a frozen leg of New Zealand lamb for the same price per kilo, and it was fantastic.

I also found a kebab shop that sells lamb kebabs for 18zl. A little expensive for a kebab, but it's lamb.

Travel / Special stories / anecdotes about Gdansk [11]

Not to mention that is was built in 1400 and that it's now a photo studio.

When you get here pick up a free copy of Gdansk in Your Pocket at most decent hotels. I get mine at the Scandic Hotel across the street from the train station or you could could check out inyourpocket.

You'll want to see the Old Town. As you pass under the Golden Gate to begin your trip down Długa Street toward the Motława River, stop to look at the photos of the city just after WWII. There was a faction here at the time that wanted to tear everything down and rebuild a "modern" city a la Warsaw. Thank God that didn't happen. When you see warsaw you'll know what I mean.

What other kind of stories or anecdotes are you looking for?

Food / Comparison of supermarkets in Poland. Which one is the cheapest? [30]

Problem is, to get the best prices on everything you buy, you have to travel, spend time and fuel if driving.

I walk to my local markets. Any savings you might realize from driving someplace is negated by what you spend on gas.

History / Poland and Britain started WW2 [307]

Because both armies were in attack mode, they were not prepared for defense.

You obviously have no knowledge of military tactics, nor do you have any of history. I would say delusional, but here I think idiot troll would be more appropriate,. Keep posting. I enjoy reading your ignorant "facts".
