History / Heritage of partitions still present in Poland [107]

So...the ex-german parts of Poland are not only wealthier but the people living there are more not east-polish? :)

No, it just those parts - east and south of today Poland hasn't been affect that much by ethnic cleansing, mass restatement pf people and so on.

Those areas were able to withstand to a higher degree sovietization due to centuries long social connections and tradition. Those less rooted were easier brainwashed.

History / Heritage of partitions still present in Poland [107]

So....the russian partition and the austro-hungarian partition was no cause for a reaction?

OK. \
Prussian partition formed different form of resistance. It was possible regardless of many anti-Polish policies, laws and organization aimed at Germanization to organize and to prosper. After all Polish were also a Prussian citizen and as long as they acting within boundaries of the law they were OK. So all the power went into businesses model, a patriotic Pole was a successful one.

In Austria, high taxes and lost of BS. Yet schooling in Polish, including uni. Polish people in administration, army, There were Polish PM many ministers.

Russia, mindless tyranny, inconsistent have handed polices, total misunderstanding of Polish culture or mindset, inferiority complex of Russian intelligentsia. yet most of uprisings were there, corruption and so on. Russian imperialist scared of possible Poland's revival.

News / Years of Poland in the EU - assessment of pros and cons [1199]

100 billions euros from EU funds

plus 100 Billions euros of credits taken in western banks in the name of the people, that need to be repaid with interest. So that EU found is a scam and BS from the start. It gives an opportunity for all shady or less shady but nevertheless corrupt deal to make a big money. Those few who are getting rich are screwing all the rest.

I have a question for you. Are those few are paying you? Are you simply a clueless moron?

thousands of infrastructure projects funded by the EU

Sure look above. Paid by the Polish taxpayers twice over. I don't even talk about money Poland need to pay into EU bureaucracy. Not to mention useless and stiffing EU laws - how much they cost Poland just to implement it.

!. Most of the good things could have happened anyway with only an economic treaties. Freedom of travel is a one plus but not much else.

economy in good shape, and still rising- thriving agriculture- Poland's GDP has doubled-- protection against semi dictatorial inclinations of PiS.

Is that rally a good shape?a banana republic is you model?/thriving agriculture what a baloney. It has been a strong feature of Poland regardless of the EU attempts to clamp it down. /GDP - tell you knowing is a BS static, useful only to speculative international capital. / protection my foot, they just want to impose their own version of dictatorial rule heard about introduction in the EU by the EU Chinese like censorship of the internet?

You full of garbage.

News / Petition for War Crimes Reparations for Poland [126]

There is a reason why poles fear us but we have zero fear about poland.

You what? What are you yapping about pup? Who is exactly afraid of whom? You're delusional. lol!

They even make fun about your country i

Yeah that famous German humor, just give up on that all together its embarrassing,

Sharing so openly views of your German idiots

Every country have their idiots. I actually like Weimar. After PC tiptoeing German posters or some really intelligent poster like BB, I found his candour refreshing.

News / Petition for War Crimes Reparations for Poland [126]

What do you mean with "it doesn't exist"?

It mean that is not what it is pretending to be. If I would have typed for you an agreement that would promised to give you Stettin for ten million Euro, even if you would have had paid the full price and I failed to deliver ....you couldn't produce such a document as a valid agreement in the court, only as a proof of a con.

The law from 1953 states exactly who and how and what. In the case of the paper you talk about, there is neither right who, right how and right what.

Poland already did it by taking a lot of EU money

It doesn't surprise me that dufus ( not doofus) like you think along those lines. Here surprise for you, nothing very gave to Poland or its citizens a dime. The EU found and EU issues are all part of the deal. You're like a kid thinking that your daddy gets money from his wallet. (In your case of a basement dweller a mummy. )

They will not because Poland still owes Moscow for its liberation.

LOL! right, let not forget our resident troll.

the mouth of true Nazi !

That is getting old. He has big mouth, doesn't make him a Nazi, gees. A Pop culture and progressive crap ruined people and their ability to think.

News / Petition for War Crimes Reparations for Poland [126]

Which how do you know, can

Are you playing a guessing game? Who cares about you dumb questions? It an issue that can only be solved in diplomatic negotiations. So far there hasn't been any serious move in that direction. Just some double talk.

In this thread anyone can express their opinion on the subject. If they can back it up with some compelling arguments that so much better. You're only yapping here and there like a light weight. That OK.

1953 reparations were decided.

Nah, it wasn't. That is my point. That 1953 agreement doesn't exist.
So theoretically nothing stops Poland from asking for those reparations. i.e. for intentional destruction of Warsaw aside all that had been destroying during the campaign of 1939 or fight in Warsaw 44, only that what had been stolen and destroying after ceasefire.

1. Evidently gov in Warsaw is doing nothing so, it is no issue.

2. Petition like that is just a useless act. IF say 10 million Americans would sign it, that would be something. We all know that most of those Pol-Ams are more interested in kielbasa, meaning of their name, some stuff about ancestors, or at the very least some tour to Poland hoping in their ignorance to get some half-serf, stunning beauty for few fistful of dollars that in real life issues concerning Poland and Polish people.

I'm all against asking some foreign powers to intervene in Poland, Like WTF? Those people who are keep doing that mean well but their out of their depth.

Does this Reparations also include to pay compensations to all the Germans who lost their home and house?

Yes, a missing kick in the ass they forget to collect while being kicked out.

Moral grounds - zero. There is a common sense rule in civil law: a kiss ends a dispute.

Said who - you? phew! Kiss my a...

that prohibits members states from suing each other for the events prior to joining.

It makes you both funny, BB in a nice way and you in a clownish way.

If that would be a legal clause, German gov would have made a good use out of it a long time ago. A fact that jabbering about 1953 'agreement' tell anyone with a more than a two brain cells together that there is not such a clause that could be used in regard to the issue.

Your fault that you weren't even there. You failed to put in your demands then, now it's to late. Sorry

Oh, you want to have a trade going with Russia going over Poland's territory - sorry prices for transit just quadrupled.

Oh, your gas pipe wasn't deep enough blocking our port in Stettin oh we so sorry, As it happened a ship accidently bust it.

Oh, your capital owns like 80% of the Polish media, such and such banks, sorry we just changed the law and you can only own 10% we will buy the rest for the market price, opps the prices just dropped down overnight, well what we can do - a free market economy eh?

That just from the top of my head.

Serio, Germany is soo lucky I'm not in charge in Poland. :)

Israel too and Russia, and some other sods.
USA on the other hand is loosing in the long term.

News / Petition for War Crimes Reparations for Poland [126]

It began in

That issue has more levels to it.
1, From a moral point of view and so called an old fashioned justices Poland have the right to ask for those compensations - the answer is yes.

2, From the legal point of view has Poland have the right to ask for compensation - yes it does - as this so called agreement from 1953 hasn't been legally binding by the Soviet Poland procedures and the law. Some Soviet from Kremlin ordered his underlining in Soviet Poland government to give him such and such a paper and he obeyed.

Bad luck for Germany today that he didn't bother to follow the law and procedures that he should have. Hence that agreement not legally biding. Also there other issues that make it void and nullified. So IF that is only legal argument that the German gov brings to the table - I'm afraid it has no legs to stand on - legally speaking.

3, Is it practical to ask for compensation? - |Probably not.

However Germany want to have Poland as their mitteleuropa vasal state IF so, that the least they can to would to solidly compensate Poland for all the loses incurred and those that she will incur in the future due to such a status. I think that is a pretty reasonable stance.

On the other hand those people either PO or PiS in charge in Poland. I wouldn't want to talk to them serious either. From my point of view its pretty sad.

WW II is over 80 years over.

Nope, the WWII was over about 30 years ago, give or take. The some goes for DDR, you should know THAT at least.

for crying out loud.

Yes, we heard your opinion on the subject many times. Now if you have nothing new to add. Why don't you stop regurgitate.

some nutters only always claim reparations from Germany and not from Russia likewise too

Don't be a child BB. It doesn't work that way. Hey I wasn't the only one what about X, Y, Z? Nothing, an answer goes you worry about yourself.

News / Polish final report on Smoleńsk aircrash [870]

It seems the whole Smoleńsk business has been hushed up by PiS government.

Hushed? I mean what they can find after so many years and without property of the polish state being stolen by thieving Russians?

Besides the question posed what was the case oft he crash is purely academic and secondary.

What Any serious commission of any serious state would do at the state. It would investigate people and institutions who and which haven't been doing their duties. Those who fail, neglected, mismanagement and so on... They should be put in prison. Some goes with those who had hold at the time the highest positions should face beside a political responsibility charges of neglecting their duties and acting against interest of the state and should be put in prison.

Maciarewicz focuses on scientific theories what might have happened or could have happened and use them to stir political waters. disappointing.

Not that opposition is nothing but a bunch of clueless churls, they are absolutely useless no entities.

News / Abortion still under control in Poland [2986]

It's their bodies, and their choice.

Excuse me? What do you mean. Children in their womb are not a part of their bodies, they biologically different.

If you making an argument that women can do whatever they want with an unborn child just because it is located inside their body? Congrats you just made a pro-slavery argument i.e. an owner of the land can make whatever he wants to do with people within borders of his property.

Non-sentient clusters of cells.

Who is gonna decide what non-sentient or what not. By my estimation about half posters here do not quality as sentient beings and technically you are cluster of cells too.

When I was a kid

When I was a kid in Poland countryside. Nothing really got stolen and if it did that was either that one guy everybody knew about it, needed money for the alcohol or rarely still passing gypsies. Mostly they were kind of begging (asking) for food from the people.

a person who has eaten carp every year since birthday

That is a really disgusting dish. I eat it once and I never again repeated that mistake. Never heard about that sweet carp, must be even more disguising.------

Diced, luke warm and in a dreadful sugary gloop

If you add some salt - it is just lovely, homemade that is.

History / Unforgettable quotes about Poland and Poles from Polish and world`s history and culture [99]

He meant his political opponents,

Indeed, which suggest he was looking into a mirror while uttering that BS.

And ever since their death, those two coffins rule over Poland ...

Which is a tripe made up by a Polish émigré Giedroic who was a political idiot although he was a very cultivated aristocrat.

It is Funny that tripe had been picked up in Poland and revitalized by some half-witted and brainwashed lost souls. What I didn't know that that tripe is evidently still alive in some circles in Poland. Sad.

To make it very clear political debate and issues in Poland has very little to do with those men who are long dead.

[Pawian is kindly requested to translate this into English].

There is an English version - opinions are like ass - holes everybody has one.

You are confused, Ironside.

On the other hand You're very bright and straight as an arrow.

Lets say, I will rob all your assets right. then I will take a good care of your former house and on the top of it I will feed your cat, According to your bright and unwavering logic you should be grateful to me for taking a good care of your freaking cat. Applause!

There is an old Polish adage, which I guess would be a fitting addition to pawian's (the F peasant)thread - go to a doctor to get treatment for you legs because it is too late to cure your head.

You think Poles needn`t feel grateful to Germans for it?

Why would they? Your point of view is weird. My guess is that you being a F peasant and a butler to the boot you need somehow justify interlay your spineless attitude towards Germans or any powerful or wealthy foreign country. .

History / What do Poles owe to Germans? [451]

actually really give a **** about

Dude, the phrase you're looking for is - I don't give a sh...! What you are saying now is just the opposite of what you want to say. Key?

As I said the thread subjected is very badly worded. Owe suggest some kind of debt, not necessary of a pecuniary kind but some debt of a moral obligation or gratitude.

Such obligation doesn't exist. Things that Polish people can appreciate in Germans after 1000 years old long history of neighborhood would be much better or something of the kind.

No wonder people are just putting in some mind-bending examples of BS like the other with his 'rights for serfs' in Prussia. How that can be consider a favor? Poland had been robbed from their land first and then some was suffering the fate of all Prussian lands. I don't even want to consider which level of ignorant or dumb one has to reach to post it in all the state. Unless it was some sublime mockery.

In 1830 yes lots of people in many German states were supportive towards Polish refugees, former soldiers fighting Russian in 1830. Yet it was seen as a prat of the liberal revolution that many were hoping for at the times. Governments were not that kin on them, most of those rules were rather were of the battle hardened veterans of a revolution. who fought -against their legal ruler (Czar of Russia was also a self-proclaimed Kind of Poland.)

Hell. Prussia at the time were in talks with Czar. Preparing for a military innervation IF the uprising would have been successful.

So general public in German many states was cheering them up in the same way today a large chunk of the populace in the USA would cheer up some LGBT activists. Not due to some sympathy to Poland but because Poland happened to be a symbol at the time (rightly or wrongly)of certain ideological/political movement in Europe, republicanism, liberalism and what have you ....

have a nice day

Language / Game - guess Polish idioms/sayings in direct English translation [1756]

Ok, my interpretation of that idiom is that 'not all efforts produce a result' - not all flour will turn into bread, but some will

well , that saying is rather precise. I mean it refers to a specify issue from a point of view of a saying-user(sic). It doesn't generalizes like most of saying.

Such and such thingy not gonna work - says A or he can say - insert saying - that. Makes him look sage and savvy rather than a gossiping bitter fart that he is. lol

Besides that saying is not oft used nor popular. Its alive to some extent due to literature. I'm sure there are any people in Poland that never heard it.

Study / Various education and school issues in Poland. Opinions, stories, controversies. [1006]

hear that teacher earn so little in Poland.

He talking BS. Sure a novice earns very little. There three or four tiers for teachers in Poland. Those on the last tier earn about 5000 to 6000 ZL that is considered a good salary in Poland. Plus they get it for about 20 + hours per week, paid medical care, three months fully paid holiday.

Do you know what is hypocrisy in this strike? They ask for increase in salary for novices but they all will get more money even those on a top tier. A basic pay of MP's in Poland is about 10 000 to 12 000 zl if I'm not mistaken.

Remember that nurses are getting about 3000zl. Plus some doctors are not getting that much just for few contracted hours like about 7000, After they put more hours in they can easily earn about 12 0000 to 15 000. (theirs some that earn 20 000 or 50 000 but that different story, talking about an average doc there)

So sure by all means teachers, novice teachers should get more, let abolish this cast system and let them work like 40 hours per week, and pay them by their performance.

Language / Game - guess Polish idioms/sayings in direct English translation [1756]

you could use 'all that glitters' in that context in the US (esp if it had been a love-at-first-sight kind of couple).

Sure, but if we concentrate that saying to its bare essence its says such and such thingy won't work, won't produce an expected/hoped for result. Whereas in 'all that glitters' is about recognizing a true value of things/people.

Not the same.
