What a plank, they should lock him up

True. Would serve him right.

Does he drive drinks around? Or is he a drunk driver?

You'd need to ask the newspaper in question. Perhaps it's a new term.

What a plank

Quite. Very naughty to say that it's acceptable in Poland. Partly because it isn't and alcohol levels for driving are strict and partly because it's irrelevant what is or isn't allowed elsewhere.

the Château d'If.

Has anybody got reference? For making stuff up, like fiction like in 'Le Comte de Monte-Cristo'.

A particularly grisly murder.

The dismembered corpse of a 67 year old man was found in various parts of a nature reserve near Manchester last week

The murder trial's happening now. There's only one person on trial now; perhaps the other person originally charged hasn't gone to trial.

Further body parts were found .....including his heart, a kidney, lungs and genitalia.

A piece of Everett's spine was discovered at Boggart Hole Clough while a further 10 body parts, which appeared to have been sawn from his body, were discovered at Linnyshaw Colliery Wood. Parts of Everett's head and face were found at Blackleach reservoir

[About a third of the body was recovered by police. Majerkiewicz appeared in court wearing a grey tracksuit with a shaved head. He heard the proceedings through a Polish interpreter.

It looks like he didn't hold back. I find it hard enough to bone a joint of meat to stuff it and cook it. It must have been a hassle to do all that.

It's a full trial, so the defendant must have pleaded not guilty.

It says in the article that he was sending birthday cards after the person died and was using bank accounts however we shouldn't second guess a jury since they hear more of the evidence than the public. Having said that, it can't be easy for the defence lawyers in such a trial

What about the case of 2022??? Any news on the court ruling?

Young Polish man stabbed to death in UK
For reasons not yet determined by investigators, Kajetan was attacked with a knife by his peer Patrick Sharp. The teenager was taken to hospital, but his life could not be saved.

Sharp, 18, has been charged with the murder of a Polish man and has been remanded in custody. He has also been charged with possession of a weapon and drugs. Hertfordshire Police say the teenager is due to appear at Luton Crown Court on Wednesday.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment:

It looks like he didn't hold back. I

It is a particularly grisly case. He's pleaded not guilty to both murder and manslaughter.

That's seems strange since the was using the victim's bank account and sending birthday cards to his relatives pretending to be him. That would be very difficult to credibly explain away.

It has a few echoes of this horrible case:
While searching the home of a detained 40-year-old Polish bricklayer, German police uncovered a shocking find: mutilated bodies were discovered in his refrigerator.

There's an odd fascination wit( true crime (and of course the media, tv and bookshops are full of it.

I remember as a teen there was a real panic near my village. Something nasty had been found. Remember, this was just after the Yorkshire Ripper, that guy who killed the Laitner family in Sheffield after the wedding reception then went on the run locally and a serial rapist called the Fox who broke into peoples houses and also went on the run.

The panic was unjustified though. There was a lot of dismembered flesh however it was vacuum packed with Sainsbury's labels. Someone's freezer had obviously broken down.

The actual words were "Majerkiewicz denies murder and manslaughter", so I've presumed he pleaded not guilty. It's from your Guardian link.

.

Exactly. I think he's clutching at straws to be honest.

It has a few echoes of this horrible case:

Blimey, even more dismembered bodies :( although not sure if it's one person or more after reading the article.

I hope identification is possible because although it's awful, those people will be missed and at least families will get answers.

For sure. Otherwise there'd just be a sentencing hearing.
