Poland Parliament elections in October 2011

maybe we are in the terrible danger of these things?

another classic ... was removed from youtube because of 'multiple breaking of copyright laws' (on behalf of Polish state TV) - read: Tusk realizes when they joke about him it is not going to be fun around the ballot box

but I am digging and I will find it

and I did - but you have to be patient - cabinet meeting in Peru featuring Chinese infrastructure construction manager ;)

... - you have to be patient because the cabinet meeting starts at 37:45

(they have went after all shorter pieces that only included the cabinet meeting for the obvious reason the youth won't be waiting over half an hour to see this)

for the lacking in patience - the clous is this: Tusk asks the Chinese 'manager' Why are you taking to building motorways if you don't know how? and the Chinese manager says 'Why have you taken to leading the nation?'

Oosp, I am not that patient. I reached 5 minute and that was too much.

for the lacking in patience - the clous is this: Tusk asks the Chinese 'manager' Why are you taking to building motorways if you don't know how? and the Chinese manager says 'Why have you taken to leading the nation?'

Thanks for that but it is only a boring cabaret programme.
Still, it proves that democracy under Tusk is strong in Poland.

Don`t be unwise. I had two TV cabaret programmes removed from youtube for breaking their laws and I got the warning. And there was nothing about Tusk in them. The one you posted will probably be removed too sooner or later. Don`t mix politics into it.

so why was this 'vulnerable' stuff removed so soon?? while many other cabarets hang for months or years - need examples??? ... - - this one was posted in 2007 - nobody cares because it does not imply Tusk is no good at governing the country - they (PO) know very well that ridiculing political opponents is a powerful weapon (they kept on and still keep on ridiculing PiS (which I don't deny PiS is asking for after 2007 parliamentary loss)

and about some cabarets - yes some don't want to have their stuff readily available on the web - while I doubt Robert Górski is among these

btw you don't have to wait the whole half an hour to see 'the Peru cabinet meeting' - just click on the right minutes 37:45 and the wait will be much shorter

so why was this 'vulnerable' stuff removed so soon?

Because it was reported?

Don't forget that there are elements within the opposition that might desire a PiS collapse - politics is a dirty game, after all.

Because it was reported?

why wasn't stuff hanging there since 2007 reported - it has TVP2 signs on it - nobody cares - why - because it causes no troubles to the ruling prime minister and his company - had things like that happened while PiS-led coalition was ruling there would have been massive outcry in the media from Tuamotu to Jamaica of an outrageaous violation of freedom of speech in Poland (you could see some cabarets freely making fun of Kaczyńskis in the height of their power in the state run TV - and guess what the jokes were mostly flat out primitive)

Chinese manager: No ja sie nie znam na budowie. Ja pracował w restauracji.
Tusk: No jak się nie znasz na budowie, to co się bierzesz za budowanie?
Chinese manager: A pan sie co wziął za rządzenie?

it must have been very very painful

you have to watch it, it's worth it - they really do a good job (good acting and stuff) -
youtube.com/user/Filmydokumentalne1#p/u/2/lqpI3SmRR00 - if you move the pointer to 37:45 you will only wait a couple of minutes to watch the "Polish cabinet meeting in Peru" :)

Opposition loses first election campaign legal joust
24.08.2011 12:49
A court in Warsaw has ruled that the opposition Law and Justice party must apologise for making false statements about the government's record, ahead of the 9 October election. Law and Justice must make apologise and give 10,000 zloty (2,500 euros) to charity.

The catalyst for the case was the slogan under which the Civic Platform (PO), the senior coalition partner, is running its campaign. The centre-right party is drumming up support under the banner: "Poland is being built" (Polska jest w budowie). However, conservative rival Law and Justice (PiS) responded at a press conference that Poland is not being built but, "Poland is in a mess" (Polska jest w balaganie), adding that some of the planned or current investments that the senior coalition partner was claiming credit for could be ascribed to the work of previous governments.

Opposition loses first election campaign legal joust

of all cases that PO advertised as the succesful government projects (some 95 listed in their promo material) the court has found actuallyFOUR were the projects started and completed by PO government - of course according to basic logic the court had to state that PiS has given a false information claiming that these 95 projects were not to be thanked for solely to PO government and it has to make it good
OP pawian 224 | 24,695
27 Aug 2011 #98
Actually, these 4 projects were highlighted to the court by PO as examples of PiS` lies. There was no need to discuss the remaining 95 out of 99.

you know I would vote for PJN had not they destroyed mu trust in them before - I am getting fed up with PiS actually but there is little choice left for me - I hope the PJN join forces with PiS again after Kaczyński is ousted -

Both PJN and PIS come from the same abominable root. :):):)

Why not PiS?

I just can`t stand those hypocrites. They cry out loud about law and order, (PiS means Law and Justice) but it seems they think abiding law is good for others, not themselves.

Last Saturday, coming back to Warsaw from PiS convention in Wrocław, the chairman`s driver made a few dozen road offences. PiS spokesman denied it was his boss`s car.

Not only hypocrites, but also liars!

And not only liars, hypocrites, but also cowards. They dare not debate anybody from PO on neutral ground because they know they would get verbally slaughtered-it would be repeat of Kaczynski in 2007.

And by the way how irritating is that professional pieniarsz Hoffman-PIS spokesman?

Yes, it is really unbelievable. PiS, the major opposition party, refuses to run debates with the ruling party!

Have you ever heard or seen anything like that in your countries?

And by the way how irritating is that professional pieniarsz Hoffman-PIS spokesman?

Yes, this cheeky guy can be described as slick a....e. :):):):

I will most likely be in Poland at the time of elections and if I won't have anything better to do I am going to vote for the first time in my life.I will vote either for Ruch Palikota or Kongres Nowej Prawicy (I even consider joining either party).Hopefully there is more smart people in Poland to do the same because it's a high time to kick out PO PiS SLD and PSL pigs out of Sejm. So,I am not voting "for" but more like "against" and I encorage you guys to vote Palikot or KNP too!We need a change in this country!

you are an idiot pawian, ?Po tells the truth and only truth, you are an unbelievably moronic individual

es, it is really unbelievable. PiS, the major opposition party, refuses to run debates with the ruling party!

I don't care what PiS does but being in their boots I would not debate with PO, what would be the point, they will lie anyway, and their are trash anyway ....

So,I am not voting "for" but more like "against" and I encourage you guys to vote Palikot or KNP too!We need a change in this country!

there is no future to voting against, there geniuses like you voting against voted PO to power, vote Palikot ? You seemed like dude with brain, but its only porridge:(

I don't care,I only want PO PiS SLD and PSL OUT!!!They have had over 21 years to show what they are capable of and I am not impressed at all matter of fact I am pissed!Palikot is a decent dude and even though I don't really like the way he is presenting himself sometimes he talks some sense. My preferable option to be honest would be to rozjebać the whole system thru the revolution and then start over with a new one without any crook who held any postion within the last 21 years but it seems not enough Poles are ready to go with this somewhat radical option.

being in their boots I would not debate with PO, what would be the point, they will lie anyway, and their are trash anyway ....

Very good. )::):): In this way, PiS is going to lose and that will be a great success of Poland.

You seemed like dude with brain, but its only porridge:(

It is not nice to say so about Grubas. I don`t agree with his opinion but I respect his political preferences. At the same time, I don`t respect you because you are so frustrated. :):):):):) I pity you, though. I hope you will find proper balance in life sooner or later.

and I encorage you guys to vote Palikot or KNP too!We need a change in this country!

I am sorry, grubas, I can`t vote Palikot because he is too anticlerical. Apart from dispersing the existing political system, he also wants to abolish the Church. Come on, Catholic religion is a long lasting Polish tradition, generations of Poles depended on it in times of trouble.

Sorry, but Palikot is going to lose. I admit he is a honourable politician, though, because he resigned from his PM office when he left PO.

Yes, it is really unbelievable. PiS, the major opposition party, refuses to run debates with the ruling party!

To be entirely fair, it's probably a sign of an utter lack of talent beyond the main big figures - PO have much more "strength in depth", whereas PiS are relying on a few heavyweights. Kaczynski would get slaughtered by the other big 3 in a debate - they wouldn't let him broadcast his usual nonsense, and he's showing no attempt to fight PO on the real issues (which, paradoxically, is his best hope of winning).

Very good. )::):): In this way, PiS is going to lose and that will be a great success of Poland.

You know, the biggest question in this election is - who will PO form a coalition with? Will it be the SLD, or PSL?

(personally - the SLD would be better - they have no interest in maintaining KRUS, nor do they have any interest in subsidising Solidarność controlled industries)

SLD, as former communists, are abominable to me.

However, I won`t object to PO forming a coalition with them. Anything goes to stop rabied dogs from getting power in Poland.

This is the funny thing - PiS suddenly changed their tune in recent months when they realised that even if they win the election, they'll have to rely on the SLD to get a majority in the Sejm - but the SLD have been...hmm..rather cool, shall we say?

Insulting PSL voters recently won't have helped them either - seriously, Mr Kaczynski, get a grip on your party!

(it's my feeling that people are destroying PiS intentionally in order to remove Kaczynski after this election)

These two parties are like fire and water - completely opposite. But to get power, they are able to forget about differences. Hopefully, they won`t win the majority.

:):):):) The thing has been discussed vehemently for a few days......

thenews.pl/1/9/Artykul/54144,Election-2011-%E2%80%93-Opposition-in-peasant-jibe-gaffe
With five weeks to go before Poland's general election, leading opposition party, Law and Justice (PiS) has been accused of insulting part of its electoral base after its chief spin-doctor made some disparaging remarks about "peasants."

Adam Hofman, chief spokesman for the conservative Law and Justice party, made the comments concerning a promotional video of the current junior coalition partner, the Polish Peasant's Party (PSL).

The PSL video shows party members dancing, in what appears to be a bid to attract a more youthful electorate ahead of the 9 October elections.

"With PSL, the situation is that these peasants left their little towns and the countryside, and made it to Warsaw," Law and Justice's Hofman reflected in an interview with television station TVN 24.

"They became savage, and got dumb-founded, then they dance, sing and vote for such laws... as civil partnerships," mused the conservative MP.
"The peasants left the countryside and went bonkers," he concluded.

BTW, calling someone a beetroot in Poland is an abuse.

I had hoped that this feeling that the city is so much more important than the countryside had vanished long ago,” Tusk said.

Everyone that doesn't publish information in your favour is immediately ex-communist, aren't they? Open your eyes, man.

I talk to people, not to polls !

Never considered that people will tell you what they think you want to hear?

I can tell you that not one person from my social group is going to vote PiS. They're split between PO, PSL and SLD - even - some people supporting the likes of Palikot and Korwin-Mikke. But no-one will vote PiS - they are simply unelectable.

unfortunately it is still sad reality .........

Please - if it was - why did PiS manage to win in 2005 despite the Presidency and Sejm being SLD-controlled?

yeah, they will win regardless how many people will be voting them

Nah, they will win because they'll get the most amount of votes.

Ironside, do you really not see that the reason why PiS lose is because they're a disorganised shambles who chose to appeal to the fringe of Polish society? They won in 2005 because they managed to get the lefties, the centrists and the rightists all on their side. They then lost the lefties and centrists, and they're left with remains.

PiS was actually a very electable party back then - people were sick of SLD incompetence, and they associated PO with AWS - they wanted a genuine change for the better. But PiS made a mess of it by letting the power go to their heads, and there we are today. Nothing to do with rigged elections, and everything to do with their President.
