It's ok in general. But we seldom use sentences like that. It's used mostly in cases when you need to highlight the order of some actions: one thing happened first, then the other and the order is what is important in the sentence.

Can be too. As much as you can expect not perfect texts in free wikipedia, I cannot find explanation for such errors in commercial sites that want to be informative. In the day of printed papers everything had to be checked twice before going to print. But now you can just press a key and done!

I think that learning proper language from the web is risky in general. You better read printed books or papers. They are also usually written in better language style.

Edit errors. Typical example of bad editor's work. They often change one word and dont read the entire sentence, so it ends up like that.

Sometimes my eyes hurt when I read such texts on the web, but this is what happens when they wan to make that work done fast and cheap.

Hi,
In passive mode you use 'zostać' with perfective and 'być' with imperfective.
e.g.
Samochód został naprawiony - the car has been reparied.
Goście zostali obdarowani upominkami - the guests was presented with gifts.
v.s.
Samochód był naprawiany kiedy go zobaczyłem - The car was being reparied when I saw it.
Kiedy wszedłem, goście byli obdarowywani upominkami - When I came in the quests were being presented with gifts.

Also, you can use 'był' with perfective when you want to express the 'finished state' of an action in the past (similar way you'd say it in the present or future).

e.g.
Samochód jest juz naprawiony - the car is fixed already.
Samochód był naprawiony kiedy go zobaczyłem - The car had been repaired already when I saw it.
Samochód będzie naprawiony kiedy się spotkamy jutro - the car will have been fixed tomorrow when we meet.

You never use 'zostac' with imprefective.

Generating solar power is not the biggest problem in Poland. The problem is making any money out of it (as a private person) because you cannot sell your energy back to the system. You can only give them your energy and then obtain some discount (like 80% or so) when buying energy from them later on.

Or, if you want to use your own produced energy in the night you must keep it in some batteries. But the cost of such batteries is even bigger than the solar panels what makes the whole investment completely unprofitable.

There are some rules but they are vague. In general, people and animals are animate, but all other things (incl. plants) may be either animate or inanimate. What's more, this part of the language is still evolving and we can observe more and more inanimate things to became animate, especially in colloquial speech. E.g. fruits, vagetables: zjadłem pomidor -> zjadłem pomidora, jem banan -> jem banana etc.

Also, people sometimes 'animate' things to sound funny e.g. mam pomysł -> mam pomysła, odpaliłem wóz -> odpaliłem woza etc.

The words "Polszczyzna, Angielszczyzna" could be used in a book on literature, poetry or in some country culture class, but not in an argument between some ordinary people I think. I such eveyday speech we just say "polski, angielski etc." meaning the language.

Stary pierdziel means old fart (pierdzieć = to fart). It's just more colloquial and a little more vulgar than stary pryk.


In polish "łamany angielski" means more or less: bad english, with bad grammar, misused words etc.

I think that the words like "pidżyn", "łamana angielszczyzna" would be never used by an average, angry Pole when blaming an old fart.
Let me give it a try. I'd make it a little bit more colloquial:

"Wiesz co to za język, stary pierdzielu? Założę się że w życiu byś nie zgadł! Ile ty w ogóle znasz języków? Trochę łamanego angielskiego, to wszystko! Nawet Doktora Seussa nie zrozumiesz bez słownika! A jak ktos krzyknie "Send in the clowns", to myślisz że to wołają po ciebie!"

Not so literal, but more natural I think.
