Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades [14927]
You have asked everyone?
It would only make sense IF Ukrainie would be a part of Russia. Poland is not Russia. It would be a pain. We would have to resettle those people somewhere else and then invest a lot into that land.
That would give us a lot of fleck from other counrtries and generally Stalin have done a good job and even thought Lwów and area was without a doubt Polish land, it was different Poland and different people. There few alive that still remember life there and their children have only some sentiment toward the past, nothing else.
Poles are a nation but nation change, there was a country of orgin that was there from about 960 to 1831 - that ended.
There was a modern nation formed under partitions and in 1918 that new nation won wars and got an independent Poland. That nation was killed. There is no contunity, there same cultural issues but mainly the core of the Polish nation is still forming on a base of Soviet Poland.
That forming, evolving nation doesn't need Lwów, no for the price it would have to pay. Even if they would try to give it to Poland for free. You would have to pay Poland to take it.
While Ukrainie is an independent country - there is no way that anyone would want it.
Russians are different as you haven't formed as a nation yet. You are just a mass that has an empire or an empire that has it people/ants. If your empire would fall, you wouldn't last more than 20/40 years as you are now. You would fregment, split into new countries or you would at least form as nation with your own territory, borders and culture.
Right now you don't even know where are you borders - that is why you will always cause trouble.
The only territory that Poland would like to have would be Królewiec. 1, it is a part of Prussia that should belong to Poland as half of Prussia is just not whole.
2. There is no reason for that land to belong to some other country as this casue strategical security problem for Poland.
