Off-Topic / Germany hunts down a 96 years old woman. [85]

@Bratwurst Boy
If somebody is unable to categorize a person as a human being performing a crime: example of theft (a thief) but, instead calls them something which is used to describe a certain group based on any forms of preferances (some being accurate to pinpoint it better, or broadening it hit as many as possible for political purposes)

So with example of Novichok calling human beings parasites, it's not only for the purpose of awakening stronge feelings, but also for the purpose of dehumanizing as many people as possible cause he sees other humans as enemies. Out there to get him or closest to him. We can soon see it by his reaction to my startment as well.

Digging to the fear of unknown, other or different. Your own fear of being in Poland can basically be used by any politician describing Poland/Poles as a threat. If it's nonsense then exchange being in Poland with being in Iran, SA or China or U.S.A and you will see which fears rule you and who uses it against you

So a person with a lower functioning brain that has the need to make his thought process as easy and fast as possible by reducing his «doorsteps» height to describe or categorize somebody (as to what he can expect from them) faster then those with more experience around people?

Alive and well! Good news!

@Ziemowit
Only need to open your eyes and look on the forums, most seem to point fingers at others while overlooking their own wrongdoings as a mean to deflect attention from their own bad behaviour.

A lot of accusations and a lot of self-delusions, glass cannons!

Life / Polish people and TV Series - so good and hilariously spot on :) [99]

@pawian
One of my favorites as well, really like the filming in it (angles, costumes and the personal rivalry between the judge and the colonel)

Problem with Polish movies is that people too few are translated in to other languages then English. I could easily translate all PRL movies to Norwegian if I only knew how. (As to when the proper text would show at the right moment)

I would enthusiastically worked for it to become a reality, as it's a hidden gem for most of north-western europe

Polonia / Protect Andrei Poczobut (a journalist) against prosecution by the Belarusian dictatorship [49]

@amiga500
I agree that the EU has a very passive approach to the whole crisis, but calling PiS leadership wise&strong is... The kind of thing I would expect a blind loyalist to utter, which has no basis in reality and serves only as a form of underlying ones allegiance.

PiS major contributions to the situation in Poland has been

1. combating the feeling of rural areas being left out and forgotten by the state.
2. Having a firm stance towards the EU and communicate strongly when something can't be agreed upon (so when something is agreed upon, larger chance that it will last)

3. Having a pro-democratic stance towards eastern neighbours instead of quietly tolerating the situation (basically not giving up on them long-term)

Calling it wise or strong would be wrong, but it's positive achievements.

Strong would be if there would be a general mobilization of all/most who served in the armed forces and Warn that any further provocations will lead to an invasion of the state of Belarus as the Belarussian side doesn't respect the Polish-Belarussian border. (Risky however and could potentially lead to an escalation which both sides would rather not trigger)

And wise would be to host diplomatical talks with all leaders in eastern europe, especially inviting as many pro Russian states as possible in a location in Poland or neutral country to solve the crisis.

So far PiS have been more interested in hosing small fires and not take on the burning forest. It's a gigantic challenge which PiS might be very aware that they can't pull with chances of sucess

News / How strongly are Poles sure that president Duda defend Poland's interests ? [244]

@jon357
She first and foremost tries to emphasize the possible outcome of the effects of brain drain, and the expulsion of productivity and entrepenours. Societies in todays era are far more concerned with how to spend what we got rather then increase what we got so that there will be more to spend.

She tries to create a positive image of a hardworking man that takes responsibility for himself and creates jobs and businesses for his own growth, which others benefit from.

If anything it is very on topic with the brain drain happening in Poland where highly educated citizens seek better wages abroad. Autistic or not, this problem is very real. And I do wonder what can be done about it

News / Unfulfilled promises by PiS [555]

@Lenka
I think you misunderstand me...
There is a difference between police being called in solve a domestic dispute, straż miejska being called in and a department of child abuse being called in. What kind of jurisdiction they have and who they answer to! Soon by advocating for further interferance it can lead to an example of: PiS abducting kids from families of the opposition with such pretexts in a fully legal manner and backed by the majority.

I just wouldn't want that to happen, it's parents main responsibility, then further parts of the family, neighbours and community and not after that should the civil service be brought in.

Only situations where police/straż miejska should intervene is when the law is being evidently broken (fear for your own life/children and/or irresponsible amounts of drugs/alcohol involded which puts rest of family at risk)

Problem is that in most families that would need that kind of help, wouldn't call the police

History / Polish historical myths - to break or not to break them? [257]

And in that one short and crude sentence, you've revealed your true self. And I hope you were just pretending.

Let's be honest... Academia is dominated by left-wing voters. It isn't excactly 19th century conservatives at the universities, so topics to be researched mirror it aswell.

It's different when sociologists research: 1. Societies capability to handle a crisis during a lockdown

Compared to:

2. Why societies persecute minorities

Or:

3. The ethnical background of criminals in the UK

2&3 are far more politically motivated then nr. 1...

There should be a system in place, but not by The government cause they can abuse it towards their political opponents!

Government solutions should be last resort, not main objective to strive for. Otherwise people will think the government is responsible for everything!

I am strongly against any form of child robbery which uses abuse as a pretext

Depends, if technology regarding how cars would be charged changes? I didn't even imagine smartphones growing up.

Even when I now am out of the industry, I am quite certain that the nuclear option is first and foremost expensive (state will have to have influence over this) while the state budget won't have to use a groszy if panels will be distributed and sold by private companies.

Problem is that low quality firms offer bad quality panels which can lead to hazardous situations

Polonia / Possible Green Surge in Germany [118]

The times of romans when barbarians were screaming at them have long gone, Germans are now a far more orderly people. Followers of law and order, hopefully a more greener future without throwing the society into a nasty turmoil which was the mark of 19th and 20th century.

It has a lot more to do with power struggles, scapegoat tactics and bad finances which I for sure put in the category of political mismanagment.

Blaming religion in this regard is like blaming car wheels for existing cause of traffic accidents.

One only has to look at governing powers attitude towards those who are unvaccinated to understand it.

Us vs them mechanic (group politics) which get extremely increased during a crisis or common foe. (Be it virus, military occupation or any form of warfare)

Po polsku / Targowisko - Bazar - Handel [36]

Oki...

A tu teraz dzwonili z Nordea w sprawie pracy w banku z potrzebą znajomości języka Norweskiego.

I support konfa for a lot of reasons, have yet to have the Opportunity to vote for them tho. They seem to be the ones most open to the idea of creating as many workplaces as possible without the risk of large government involvement. Which again should lead to them being functional and not a drain for the society at large.

I am in a position of seeking work, so the more work opportunities there are. The better, my impression has been that not all youth has the same approach and quickly changes it after being hired somewhere

Work / Hi, I am Indian and will be shifting to Poland (diploma in Mechanical engineering) [47]

You know what I mean...Schlesien...

BB is under the impression that since Prussia/Germany no longer controls the area of Silesia. That it´s only natural for German being spoken there to stop, which is absurd as it borders Germany and has a population that has trade/jobs/contact with Germany, which only leads to an increase in spoken German by the population. There is even a tiny fraction of German minority there if I recall correctly.

Yeah Atch got it right

So they are the deciding factor wether we will see CDU or SPD having a chancellor?
My main worry for SPD leading Germany is their potential connections within Russia and the continuation of the nord stream 2

Z drugiej strony (...)ostateczna decyzja...

Dwa razy, bo...

Maja (dzień konstytucji Norweskiej i narodowy w jednym) z dżemem z truskawek lub malin (też tam z kozim serem w brązowych plasterkach) Było by super gdyby 3.
