News / "Poles want cut on foreign workers" - (in Poland obviously) [47]

I mean what do you think is the cause of poor third world countries and develpoed first world countries?.

Poor, corrup governments, Im not saying we are perfect in europe, but we are more regulated.

For me key point is respect to each other and Judging only individuals I don't care whatever people are doing unless it harms me I don't generalize or judge people according to their race.

But because of the state their countries are in it is affecting europe due to mass immigration and this harms europe.

So maybe it would be better for India to be massacred by their colonizers like native americans. At least their country would have a better infrastructure by civilized europeans !.

Not at all and you know full well that I didnt mean that.

America and Australia is still owned by the Europeans (It's not the locals who rule the land), not like the India which is colonized once but now they are ruling their own country.

Which of those countries would you prefer to live in? Which of those countries have good infrastructure? Of those countries which ones do not hand the begging bowl round when they have a disaster? India are a developing country and are developing fast, but the facts still remain they have a low opinion of human life and the devide between the dirt poor who will never receive an education and those that are living the high life are oceans apart hence the reason migration is so high.

Maybe our point of views on culture and civilization is different.

What is your definition of a civilised country?

These examples are really irrelevant and really has nothing to do with culture or civilization.

Why are they irrelevant? They are facts.

I don't defend or proud of this like you.

Im proud of being part of a nation that was great. Im not proud of some the actions that made us once great.

anyway if we think what europeans did to indians and aborigins it still makes sense

What was done to the aboriginis and native americans was disgusting.

And I am sure you know I didn't mean America and Australia they are very different case

Why?

Jeezzz, still with the racist remarks

Where was I racist?

Calling a nation lazy and then complaining that they work hard and under cut "your" country is not a coherent argument.

The government haven't managed to put an effective health care system in place, they have a crumbling infrastructure...I'd say that's pretty lazy. The fact they have little respect for human life is a different debate.

Where did the U.K amass it's wealth?.
I like the national museum in London but it is amazing how many cultures were pillaged from all around the world.

We amassed our wealth through trade and export. Not all of our past is something to be proud of, I have already said this.

This is true, again completely under mining your own argument.

Hardly, I was just countering his comments when he was thanking the poor Ukrainian working for slave wages in Poland who was contributing to this future pension, albeit not a lot! It was also a flipant remark, follow the thread carefully SBM before jumping all over me.

If the countries colonized by you is in a bad situation now, You are also responsible for this

America and Aus are fine, they were colonized by Euroepans who stayed there, the only ones that are not are the ones where the indiginous population are, how are we responsible for that? They gained independence decades ago, how long can you blame another for your shortcomings before you take responsibility for your own failings.

Also having power to conquer or colonize somewhere doesn't mean you are more civilized from them.

Cultures are different I agree with you there, but when in this day and age someone is still shitting in an open sewer and bathing in a river you have to ask why? I can only conclude that they are not as civilised as we are in the UK and that they are unmotivated to improve their situation, which I would call lazy and uncivilised by western standards.

Sucking someone's blood for a while don't give you right to suck their blood forever.

Ottoman Empire? Very few nations are without blood on their hands Mephias.

It also lessens the credibility of Brits complaining about an influx of foreigners

Not really, the countries we "governed" wanted us out and were agressive in some cases in their actions, they wanted independence, they got it and most of them can't wait to leave the shitholes they so dearly wanted independence for and want to come the country they hated "governing" them which I always find quite strange.

In a way, not always a very nice way.

Agreed.

So, now we have a colonies too. We called them a New UK-land ;-]

Grrrrrrrr ;0)

It makes me laugh when English speaking people talk about staying in one's own country. So why is it exactly that North America, Australia, half of Africa, India etc now use English as first or official language

We Ruled, we had colonies - quite impressive wasn't it?

That does not make sense. Most of the immigrants would not have any work whatsoever if they did not emigrate from their own countries, so what kind of exploitation are you talking about

What bollox! Most are to lazy to improve their own countries, look at India they have the majority of the worlds trade in garments manufacturing and call centres yet they still flee India faster that a rat up a drainpipe.

No, I get it quite well, thank you very much. I am enjoying myself in England, earning enough money to pay for my education and mortgage I have back in Poland. I'm just slightly worried that at the moment nobody is working for my pension there, I was hoping a Chinese person would but now you guys are telling me my government isn't letting them.

Good for you, tell me why you are in the UK, hmmm, let me guess, the wages are poor back home? Do you think massess of cheap labour are going to improve that??? A friend of mine is a time served steel fixer, he has been back in Poland since mid December, he still hasn't got a job, the money being offered is peanuts and he feels that it's an insult to him for someone to offer such low wages.

Anyway thanks for your NI contributions towards my future pension :)

colonialism??

I think's he's a bit stupid Mr KB ;0)

Pure adonis :)

I always wonder, how spoilt, lazy and uninspired must be people who complain about immigrants taking over their jobs.

You really don't get it do you! Do you think cheap labour is benefical for your "average" pole? Do you think your "average" pole can aford to take home peanuts to feed his family and pay his mortgage? Do you think your "average" pole wants to feel like a foreigner in his own country?

Be careful what you wish for, is all I can say!

Love / English Men vs Polish Men [207]

you and they did. So much much women power in the North East of England a bit like Poland!

Not sure about that. Have you ever actually been to Poland? I have and I didn't see hoards of pissed up women dressed like cheap hookers.

I also don't find going up to a bloke and calling him a twat enpowerment, it's brassy and common, sorry, but I'm more feminine than feminist..It's girls like your mate that give the rest of us British women a bad name..sorry, but it's true. I can sort of understand why British mens' attitudes have changed towards British women, your friend is a prime example of how not to behave.

Lexi, I really am not being nasty, just telling you how it is.

Love / English Men vs Polish Men [207]

I meant to say about British men is that they don't show their emotions too easily.

Maybe they are not false, meaning, when they are ready to open up, it means something.

This is true statistical fact! However, I suppose it is from which area they come from in England. Upbringing and parenting covers a massive

The English are more reserved, this is true, I got called "formal" by someone who was not English, I don't consider myself formal, I'm just not comfortable flirting or being touchy feely with someone I don't really know, maybe my upbringing has some bearing on that or maybe it's because I believe people should behave in a proper manner.....Yeah, we are more friendly up north ;)

Love / They seem nice, but could Polish girls be "gold diggers"? [196]

the Polish girl you met may not have been a gold digger at the time you met her, but looking at the list of expenses you were happy to cover no wonder she turned out that way and took advantage of you. anyone would.

So if someone is generous they deserve to be ripped off??? WTF! Kinda shows how your mind works, which makes sense!

not saying you were asking for it cos being generous is a good thing

Make up your mind Juysty!

Why should Western women have access to their material desires and Polish women not?

Sorry Seanus, we have access to these things because we work hard, not because we single out some poor bastard to milk for all he has!!!

Thus proving British is best! sorry.

Wrong, it proves nothing about British men but does it prove she's a old slag who couldn't get another bloke and you thinking Guy is going to have her back is wrong, he'll have a new woman in his bed quicker than you can say "I'm on the front page of Hello with my new bird" As for British men being less emotional, you're talking shite, some are some are not. It's worthless debate.

Anyone who honestly believes you can determine someone's character/sexual preference etc. based on their nationality is an idiot. Plain and simple.

Hmm Italian men seem to be a bit more randy, every time my mate goes to Milan for meetings she gets her bum pinched ;0) Funnily enought it doesn't happen when she goes to Germany!

had any input into those things she's after she has no right to them and no legal aid would take the case.

Not quite that simple in the UK unfortunately - she can take him for the shirt off his back whether she has paid a penny or not :(

she has no right to them and no legal aid would take the case.

Again, welcome to the wonderful country called England where peoeple who work hard get fucked up the arse and bastards come out smelling of roses!

If you paid for that stuff, have proof of transactions and she did not have any input into their purchase she's not getting a penny.

The w (wife) word means she has got claims on everything!

Love / English Men vs Polish Men [207]

I know not everyone is like James Bond.

He's a fictional character, he's also a womanising fictional character, not exactly the kind of man any decent woman would want to 'fall' for!

Men are men some English men are romantic and kind, some are arseholes, Im sure the same can be said for Polish men!

Big of stupid debate really!

History / Can anyone from Poland tell me about Auschwitz and The Ghetto? [582]

sjam

It's easy to judge people for what they have done, under the circumstances which we all know were harsh, I am sure many many people acted in ways they would not have imagined possible. Can you honestly say, under the same circumstances that you would not have done anything to keep your family safe, warm and fed? It's really easy to say how a person might react in a situation, but until you have walked in those shoes, you just cant.

War brings the best and the worst out in people.

Since you are such an expert on concentration camps - care to remind me who invented them and used them first?

We rounded up young male German immigrants living in the UK at the outbreak of The Great War..but we didn't starve them or beat them as far as I am aware.
