Life / Why Polish people are fat ? [81]

Obviously i didn't comment at the time because i didnt want to offend him but said to my wife after "did you notice how he categorised junk food as normal?"

Honestly, if you can't figure out that eating food from McDonald's often is not healthy for you then you are dumb. Plain and simple.

This is not a problem with capitalism but a problem with the intelligence of some people.

Genealogy / Polish blood only makes up 1% of your "Polishness" [77]

That's interesting. They probably don't ask that because of your blonde hair though. In the States, when people think of blonde hair, they think of countries like Sweden, Norway, Denmark, etc..

UK, Ireland / UK Polonia protesting v German TV series [65]

It's not Polish, it's just pathetic. Every nation has its morons, the problem is that Poland's fair share have the habit of drawing attention to themselves.

I wouldn't say fair share. I think there is more people in Poland per capita than in any other European nation who ***** and moan about everything that's supposedly "anti-Polish."

I sometimes have to wonder if that's the reason why Polish jokes were very popular at one point here in America.

much of what you read on PF is actually written by Americans.

Nope, most of them are Polish immigrants who happen to be living in America.

Americans don't tend to be anti-Semitic like these clowns.

Hey look at that! Another thread on PF that initially had nothing to do with Jews is all of a sudden bombarded with anti-Semitism.

You should know already that there's only one race - the human race!

And yet people like you talk about Jews like they're subhuman. Typical anti-Semite of the 21st century...pretending to love all humans but yet hating on Jews.

You would fit well with left-wing Democrats in America. All they can do is bash Israel and pretend the Palestinians are completely innocent.

USA, Canada / Poles in America: How do you pronounce your Polish surname? [128]

I find it hilarious when Americans can't even say their last name. "Dźan-COW-skee" sounds ridiculous.

I think some of them Americanize the pronunciation on purpose to save the embarrassment. The Polish language does sound pretty funny for Americans.

Study / Private Universities vs Public Universities in Poland [31]

your Polish diploma shall have very little value or even none outside of Polish borders.

This is very true. In the US, a Polish degree is viewed as subpar compared to a Bachelor's earned here.

Study / Private Universities vs Public Universities in Poland [31]

not sure that would be necessarily the case for areas such as engineering and sciences

Actually, in the US for engineering we follow something called ABET accreditation. This is something American employers look for because colleges that offer ABET approved courses go over the very necessary skills engineers need. I could be wrong, but I don't think any Polish universities are ABET approved.

the material covered in PL or any other UE nation for that matter would very often be more specialised that in the US.

I'm assuming you're talking about the Bachelor's level. That entirely depends on the university when it comes to the US. For example, some undergraduate colleges will offer a very broad education in something like electrical engineering where students would cover the fundamentals of power, communication networks, nanotechnology, wireless transmission, electronics, etc. while at other schools students would be forced to concentrate on one of them.

Either way, it doesn't matter since nowadays engineering students are expected to go to graduate school. At the company I work at, we encourage our engineers to take graduate courses to gain expertise in a specialized area.

they are about 1/3 of their US price tag, and offer US recognised degrees...

You would still have to take specialized exams to be recognized as a medical doctor in the US. (From what I hear, it's a lengthy process too)

Genealogy / I am looking for an African guy in Krakow, I dated [73]

I think people here need to relax. The OP is more than likely a troll.

Although, after reading about such cases as the Simon Mol situation where many Polish women decided not to have safe sex, there is a small chance the OP is for real. I don't know how to put this as politely as possible, but Polish women just aren't quite as bright as western women.

The peculiar quirks in the English fairly consistent with it being written by a Pole.

Trolls are experts these days. They can make everything seem very real. :-)

Genealogy / I am looking for an African guy in Krakow, I dated [73]

I notice that you've got a grudge against Poland and her people for some reason.

I don't have a problem with Poles. My in-laws are Polish. There's just a few things that annoy me about Poland and Poles. :-)

and trying to claim that Polish women aren't "as bright" is just offensive given the high educational standards of Polish women.

I didn't mean that in an educational way but rather in terms of common sense. Also, no such thing as high educational standards in Poland...at least not in medicine, engineering, and science anyway...

I know quite a few hard left wing women elsewhere who would have fallen for exactly the same tactic.

We have left-wing women in the US too but they seem to understand the basics of contraception. :-)

I'm sure the same thing would have worked just as well in the USA.

But it hasn't happened yet, at least not on the scale of the Simon Mol situation. He slept with what? 50...100 women? What's scary is that Poland doesn't even have that many HIV infected people while the US does!

Well, this story was definitely not popular. Yet in Poland it was. Could it be that Poles are so racist hence why the news story about white women having sex with an HIV-infected black man was made such a big deal out of?

By the way, I await your response to the Steven Pinker link you posted.

News / Poland's universities go up in world rankings [23]

Good news about Poland's universities, they're getting quite a bit better:

They're still garbage.

If anyone wants to take education and research seriously, they should study in America or the UK.

Those rankings are strange

They're definitely a little flawed. There are some terrible universities on that list that don't deserve to be ranked as well as they are.

News / Poland's universities go up in world rankings [23]

I should've known someone on this site would accuse the rankings of being anti-Polish lol...

Polish universities didn't do well in the rankings because they are garbage compared to American and British universities. Get over it. I bet MIT alone produces more useful scientific research papers of excellence than all Polish universities combined.

Genealogy / What exactly is a Polish-American? [16]

Well, the US census defines a Polish-American as an American with Polish ancestry. This goes for Italian-Americans, German-Americans, etc..

Although, I often feel too much pride regarding ancestry divides the American people. We should look at ourselves as Americans first, ancestry second.

Love / Polish girls- breasts size [65]

I've read that the Polish population is most closely genetically related to the Czech population.

One problem with that though. Czech girls have big boobs. Polish girls don't. I'm not saying Polish girls are flat but they're definitely nothing special compared to most other countries...

Law / Permanent stay in Poland for a engaged brazilian? [9]

There aren't all that many Muslims in Poland...at least not on the level of western Europe anyway. Do not worry though, Polish Muslims are well assimilated much like most American Muslims. They are not hateful anti-Semites who show disrespect for the new country they've moved to like some Muslims in western Europe.

UK, Ireland / Thank you, Poles? It is what Irish have become. [7]

I see RN has posted a white supremacist blog. It's entertaining to read the comments section though as some people seem to be trolling those white supremacists. I wonder who they are and are they from PF?

It's quite the conundrum. ;-)

Love / Dating a Polish man - how to impress his mother? [51]

Perhaps my observations aren't too accurate, but I have noticed that in Polish families it seems to be almost encouraged for the women to date foreigners while the men are expected to marry Polish women.

I'm an American guy and I've dated two Polish women in the past. I met the parents of one of them and they seemed so happy to meet me. They showed me great hospitality. Now here's the funny thing. The woman I was dating had a teenage brother who just came home with his American girlfriend. When they walked in, you could feel negative energy fill up the room. The mother especially was not in the same mood she was in before. I'm not totally sure if this was because her son's girlfriend was not Polish.

Genealogy / Are Bavarians by any chance, related to the Polish people? [30]

My German ancestors were from Bavaria. I'm not sure if I'm right about this, but during the partitions of Poland, some Poles intermarried Bavarians and Austrians. So Bavarian/Austrian heritage might be common in some Poles and vice versa.

USA, Canada / Why indian origin woman as Miss America and never Polish origin? [37]

What's wrong with having a woman of Indian descent as Miss America? Have you seen her? She's gorgeous.

OP, Nile, and Tlum, stop being basement dwelling racist virgins and go outside for once.

Photos of the beautiful new Miss America.

USA, Canada / Why indian origin woman as Miss America and never Polish origin? [37]

For example, it was not a coincidence that the Polish woman, Aneta Kreglicka, was announced Miss World in 1989. It was a political decision,

Well I agree there since after looking her up, I don't see how her looks could've made her win.

No proof that this current Miss America was politically decided though. She's hot and she's a breath of fresh air.

Language / Extremely Hard - Polish the hardest language to learn [219]

I'm an American and I'm learning Polish because the company I work with is doing business with another company in Poland and they send me over there when it's necessary.

A lot of people will say it's hard to read because for a native English speaker it looks like someone just started smashing a computer keyboard. However, once you get used to it, it's not hard to read at all.

The grammar can be a little tricky though.

However, Polish is definitely not the hardest language to learn for an English speaker. I think Arabic or Mandarin would be better contenders for that position.

USA, Canada / Why indian origin woman as Miss America and never Polish origin? [37]

I didn't watch the show but I'm sure there were girls with a better physical appearance (ie. when I see her body fat near the arms and breast area I assume she's not a frequent gym goer). Don't get me wrong - she is very nice, but not stunning

Huh? Are you mad? She's not fat at all. She's normal. Like someone else said, anorexic is not pretty!

(A. Kreglicka was not stunning either).

I agree with you there.

Language / Extremely Hard - Polish the hardest language to learn [219]

I would argue English is one of the hardest languages to learn for the fact that reading and writing is not phonetic!

I've heard countless Poles say that English is easy yet they make so many mistakes!
