Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2809]

DO the training though, can't be too safe.

LOL,the training classes are useless mostly chatting about hunting and almost no safety taught. They dont even teach you to put child safety locks on your guns..go figure that.Mostly is who likes who and who knows who.

With a gun in their hands they became 'powerful' Guns have that effect on people

Not when they are unsure that other party might have a gun also?so it leads them to behave rather then show there packing of power. And one doesnt pull out a weapon to show like police that they might shoot...rather in personal life one pulls out a gun to shoot to kill for self protection, not to scare or warn.

UK, Ireland / How might Britain`s withdrawal from EU affect Poles there and here? [474]

Just asking.... to get an idea how Polish government might sway on this type issue

Since noone answered you...Polish govt would welcome there stay till they probably can get any kind of investment visa or such...and poles will welcome that.:)

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2809]

the only people I'd need a handgun against are those who would use their own, likely illegal handgun to accost me in some way with. any other weapon it would take a big man with equal skills to take me down.

I agree with you Ry but here you have to keep a low profile and dont let your passion rule you.do what one can legally and live with it.This is a issue like abortion and family immigration so...........NO COMMENT. FLOW WITH THE FLOW.

Life / I'm British in Poland and I think that it's time to go back to the UK! [240]

...don't let underlings tell you that you have no rights, the bosses know all the rules and regs, they have just been able to bully the peasants for so long

Agreed couple years back uzad skarbowa summoned me for a company I had opened in 2000 and never did anything with ir ot filed tax returns for it.First interview they kinda threatened me and told me to get my own translator. After consultation with pals I went back for second interview and furiously told them that I am EU resident and I only speak english and they have to get the translator.Which they did for 3rd interview.

Real Estate / The current property boom in Poland is a bubble [342]

we opted for the second choice and it proved to be the wiser.

Honestly, why you think was wiser?During that time in 2000 i bought a flat in centre paid 2500zl a sq mtr for 39odd sq metres.I wish someone would have guided me and I wouldve bought a house there. But I underestimated Poland and no one to guide me until in 2004 i woke up and started buying. After that till 2008 I kept on buying...but right now the prices vary so much in centrum that its unbeleiveable from 3k a sq m to 24 k a sq m.I wish I could post links here to prove but I dunno how to.....just to proove look at otodom commercials on allegro.pl,infact im now looking something for 10% return which i did but dont know yet till i meet the realtors who freeking lie to get people calling them to show another fuked up property.

Real Estate / Can foreigner buy apartment in Warsaw, Poland? [39]

I dont know if you know the difference between a town home and a condominium? In Poland you need no permit to buy a condominium, but being a non EU passport holder you do need permission to buy land(any kind) and a house(since land is involved) there are other ways to get around it ...popular one is to make a small company other is spouse name(if u are married) if they Polish passport holders. In Poland most flats are condominiums, but check it out as some commercial places are also same. You have to get somebody reliable to go to the respective municipal registry court and get the papers the morning before you close as NOTARIUSZ (Polish lawyer for both seller and buyer) mostly is a fuked up person who plays with his rules and believes (tamed by commies as an exclusive breed which still exists)Poles are so worried if foreigners buy there land they will steal it:))and run away:))

Life / What is the penalty for driving a car without the annual technical inspection? [17]

In Canada there is a 'collector' license plate you can put on your car and then it is exempt from inspections, etc. The car has to be 25 years old, and in decent shape, and there are restrictions on driving it to work and such. Is there a similar kind of thing in Poland

i got my 1976 maluch that way in states in 2001 as antique.I suppose in Poland are usually same laws but not sure as I did see some american over 25 years old cars with antique plates. In states one can only drive I think 500 miles a year and have QQ plates lol no seat belt or inspection requirements, registration valid for 4 years and is free, even there is a insurance calleg Haggerty insurance company that charges me 250$ a year for insurance.

Australia / I am moving back to Poland - to live from Australia. Is it a good idea? [29]

I am nowhere near Polish just married to a polish woman 25 yrs, coming to Poland 13 years, and decided to live in Poland after kids grew out.Did some investments and in process of moving full time there from states.Love it,adore it,cherish it,will die for it.We are not rich maybe land rich but cash poor in this economy but can afford better living standards than in states where health insurance costs her 1200$ a month with heavy copay compared to 900pln in Poland.with place to live costs /will be less then 10k$ a year while we pay over 13k just in house realestate tax and insurance not to mention repairs property maintence like lawn care/snow removal. If you have a place to live and a small income you will just do fine.I did live in sydney for 71/2 yrs of my student life but Poland is different.

we are 15+ years older then you are so maybe your needs are different but Poland does suit us...even though my polish sux.I am sure you are making the right move if thats what you expect from life.Remember life comes once:)))

Real Estate / The current property boom in Poland is a bubble [342]

saying that Poland is not set to show real signs of major slow down until 2035.

Maybe they are right in there own way,its like22 years to come. There are ups and downs in 2 decades, and maybe they are predicting the worse slow down then. The current slow down I think will continue till 2015/16 when it will bottom out,but the slow down now will be gradual(I think),until banks choke, people will collect money and cant wait to invest(like its happening in states now) and slowly the market picks up.
