Life / Pączki Day--do Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme count? [39]

The church always sell the Polish donuts at their bake sale for $1.00 each. Don't know the name of the shop, where the donuts are made. I believe they might be located on Imperial Hwy.

Life / Pączki Day--do Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme count? [39]

The Polish church in Yorba Linda , has their Polish-style donuts especially ordered for festivals, from a local donut shop. The shop owners are Asian. The donuts actually taste quite good.

Food / Golabki - Oven or Stove top [11]

Almost everyone I know prepare them in the oven. That's mainly because they're made in bulk amounts, with the intention of giving them to family members & friends 👍

Life / Are dogs allowed on buses in Poland? [6]

Such lucky little pooches 🐶

Is the policy mainly up to the bus driver's discretion, throughout most of Poland?

USA, Canada / Would you live in California, USA? [240]

The San Diego Polish church has a great festival in October. Long drive for me though; approx 100 miles. If you hurry Pgtx maybe you can make it here for their next fest in October 😃

USA, Canada / Would you live in California, USA? [240]

Del Mar in San Diego County has some gorgeous places. Just a bit pricey. Orange County has nice areas, such as Newport Beach & Laguna Beach. Cities such as Los Angeles are implementing various phases of urban renewal & gentrification. Personally, my favorite weekend getaway is beautiful Palm Springs:)

My list of Pros & Cons concerning Cali:

Pros
Polish churches in San Diego County, Orange County & LA County
Beckski & Shewolf will be your neighbors :)
Beaches, mountains, desert, rural living
Casinos, Palm Springs
Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm
Route 66, museums, historic sites
Close access to Mexican border for day trips
Great restaurants, shopping, fabulous night life, Flea Markets:)
San Diego County has a wonderful Red Trolley transportation system.

Cons
Very small Polish population
Increasing statistics in crime & homelessness, high unemployment rates. (many people in San Diego County are employed via temp agencies, due to lack of steady jobs.)

Tendency of multiple fires in various areas during hot summer months
***Be prepared for culture shock***
You may expect to experience extreme levels of reverse discrimination, in both the work place & everyday life. This is especially true if you're blonde & blue or fair-skinned.This is by all means no exaggeration!!!

I hope this info is helpful :)

Life / What do Poles really think about cats? [354]

Non Polish cats can be evil too. My neighbor's serial killer kitty once dumped a decapitated pigeon on my lawn. Ewww!

Food / A snack at Bob Beans - could sure use some info. [4]

It's probably because you're lacking real Polish soil Peter. My great-aunt Janka makes jam from Polish roses. She swears the recipe only works with roses grown in a Polish garden:)

Travel / Worth visiting Warsaw? [20]

I visited beautiful Warsaw 3 summers ago. I'm fortunate to have English-speaking relatives living there. I had employees at the hotel where I stayed assist me, by writing down helpful phrases & places I visited on my own.
