Warsaw is having a treasure hunt - exploiting the record low level of the Vistula River to find pieces of historic bridges and boats amid the discarded tires and broken glass littering its banks. It's all part of city authorities' goal to turn the free-flowing river into a major tourist and sports attraction.

I don't think he is looking for a relationship; I think he just wants sex, guaranteed, and at a bargain price. Like I said, he is not an exception; huge industry, oldest profession and all that, there is no denying that. He does, however, have some misconceptions about how much of a bargain Poland would be.

I actually don't mind a guy being honest enough to admit what his priorities are. Crude, but those are the realities. There are enough women whose priorities might fit with his. I still say 4K is not enough for a month Poland, though, unless he's hoping some Polish beauty will take him in and entertain him on the chance he'll take her to the promised land, like in the olden days. ;)

In most companies, one half of the couple should not be in charge of the other half. Often, one person has to be moved to another department, but if a position in another department is not available, or is not a good fit, one person might have to leave.

I think this busha bussiness is a perfect example how Polish language gets convoluted by second generation immigrants.
BTW, you're right, I probably spelled dźadźa wrong. I think it's dziadzia, or in its more popular use in Poland: dziadzio.

I think there is more of an expectation that the tenants will fix stuff for themselves in Poland than there is in the US. That can be a bit of a shock. Check the apartment carefully before you agree to take it!
That said, it can also be a bit of a shock when Polish tenants in US decide to re-configure the kitchen cabinets without bothering to run it by the landlord first. ;)

I just installed a beast of a cooling system on my PC and was tempted to do a little mining myself, but what keeps me from trying is the fear that it may bring my computer down.
Interesting development: bitcoin protocol may need tweeking because of too much computing power (!):

I was surprised by the Polish entry. I thought the song was a joke. It's not an especially bad song, but just the same, a joke. Even at the beginning of the song, Donatan makes excuses already; to look up the meaning of "irony" and keep a sense of humor.
Have any "funny" songs ever got top honors at this contest? (and no, I don't mean the guy with a beard, or the dancer in a giant hamster wheel) ;)
