History / Friedrich Nietzsche - Polish or German ? [73]

Asking a question about philosophers's nationalities is a mistake.
:)

Thread attached on merging:
What influence on Polish culture have had F. Nietzsche?

"Chistian mentality of a slave", "anemic interests in history" and "life" on the other side.
He also said that the development of a strong people must not to be stunted by the weak people.
"Chistianity" and "philosophic tradition" turned from real world to "heaven" and the world of ideas. But a "real' world is a world of delusion.

What do you think about Nietzsche's ideas?
Are they important for history or philosophy?
I will rather not ask about influence on historiosophy...

Do you have any ideas or comments?

And please, I am just a girl ;), so no s***** words please

Hello I am wondering what the Polish equivalent of "Tara"

Try first this address: goddessgift.com/goddess-myths/goddess_tara_white.htm

In Polish language it generally means ,,gwiazda" or ,,Bogini pokoju i mądrości". It has many, many others opportunities of translations nad meanings.

History / The Two Saddest Nations on Earth... Poles and Jews [171]

The saddest nations?
The wisest and signed with a pain.

Have you ever heard about a book written by Nicholas the Lage "The atlas of Jewish world"?

It's incredible and so widely impressive.

I bought one day a story written by Dinur Yehi'el (pseud. Ka-tzetnik 1356330) "House of Dolls" - (polish title is "Dom Lalek") and till this day I remember "emotions" that were inside me.

I do not recommend it for children.

I like the Jewish culture and literature very much.

Po polsku / Policzmy się! [80]

A czemu o chamieniu rozmawiacie?

Love / Strange definition of "sexy hair" by Polish women [5]

All I can say is that hair are not the mirror of a politics southern, especially perm.
I think you are a real bloody punk, aren't you?
I'm just wondering, how old are you?
Try to do sth special with your incredible linguistic talent and do not criticise, especially womens' hairstyle.

Love / Love without chemistry? (Asian in love with a Polish woman) [195]

A good topic to discuss I guess.

I think that if there is no chemistry the matter looks difficult.

The only advice I can give you is that getting or giving any advices is not the best option.

But if I really wanted to say sth smart I would say: follow your hart + stomach + nose +eyes and maybe you will feel sth in common with the Polish girl.

And definately try to eat sth traditionally Polish.

Love / Love without chemistry? (Asian in love with a Polish woman) [195]

;)
I was studying in Olsztyn and eating there was always a big problem for me.
A tomato soup is not bad to try first.
And fishes in a land of Warmia which is an area of lakes + some dairy products + maybe dumplings with mushrooms.

History / "Poland's Concentration Camp" ?? [570]

I am afraid that I will not read carefully all thread, but I just wanted to realise to some people that three questions marks at the end of the question of the thread are strange.

There are no concentration camps in Poland. In Poland were concentration camps.
I do not have a clue who invented a title but a verb in it could be useful for some native English readers.

History / Lusatian-Sarmatic obsession of Poles [153]

Why do you think that being interested in the past of Poland is an obsession?
Poland's history is exciting and any kind of obsession does not surprise me, especially "Lusatian/Sarmatian". Ancient Sarmatians represent mentality of the majority of Polish people.

Life / HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE POLAND IN 2010? [84]

How would I describe Poland in 2010?

People seems to be confused and they are trying to find solutions. They come back to Sarmatic style of thinking which hardly allows to go further and concentrates on emotions, fight, than being tired and fighting again in the name of being heroes of a Polish land.

UK, Ireland / Brit Polonia fighting anti-Polish stereotypes [46]

Could you tell me please, why are you so smart here, on Polish forum?
You English natives use your language to criticise Poles.
Why do you do this?
I will tell you that many of you here are silly and conceited people without a clue about what does it mean to be Polish but with a fake certainty that Poland is far far away from the rest of Europe not even mentioning about a world.

You do not use a name for my nationality.
You are just able to observe and find a very bad treats of Poles.
What do you know about us?
This what you see? No, this what you read, write and observe but imo it is just a small partition.

Merytoryczne dyskusje z 17-latkami, ktorzy pozjadali wszystkie rozumy?

News / Will Komorowski be Poland's worst ever president? [72]

No, he will not be.
I am pretty sure that he is a good politician.
Pathetic campaign?
Well, it is just your point of view.
For me, considering the fact how difficult the campaign and the situation in Poland was and, what's more, still is, I'd call it almost heroic.

Life / Importance of Religion in Poland [187]

Seanus
I was reading a Catholic Vs Protestant forum last night with Protestant prospective converts asking Catholics for ideological and thematic differences. There was some interesting dialogue, unlike with you.

I wonder if anybody will be interested in a dialogue.
I can start a first point for a discussion if you don't mind.

1). "Protestants do not pray to "pictures" of saints, because a Bible says that Christians should not to portrait God."
Protestents charges Catholics that hey "pray" to pictures of Jesus.

So, my question for protestants is:
How do you imagine God?

He is not like a portrait or a picture, because they are just visions of artists.

Life / Importance of Religion in Poland [187]

natasia
they don't seem to understand, eg, that if you are Catholic YOU DON'T DO ABORTION. ????

If you are protestant you do abortion??? In other words, are you allowed to do abortion if you are an atheist?
Because being an atheist allows to do abortion?

Why do you care for hipocritical Catholics?
I'm not sure if I understood you correctly.
Sth wrong is with logic in here.

Plenty Poles could answer you this way: I don't do abortion because I am a Catholic. I don't do abortion because of reasons which have nothing to do with being Catholic.

Why do you mix religion and abortion?

Hypocrisy?
Actually the most hipocritical and nasty person I met in my life was a strong catholic.

consider it one more time please
You should not to take these bunch of "inteligentnych inaczej" seriously.

Travel / Poland-My 9-day experience [239]

AussieSheila

Do you want to know what is my impression about Australia?
People who are f**** too many times, who laugh at everything, who drink any kinds of alcohol, who have no moral rules, write mediocre (nothing more) literarature (silly blogs with stupid but definately witty comments), but they are proud of infected flies flying into their mouths while they are on the trip and stinking dirty dead cats hanging on the trees seen from dirty trains.

Oh, and girls or who love to say to their male or female frieds:
"Can I take your picture? I wil masturbate while watching this."

But Aussies are smart enough to take plenty dollars for sleeping in their awful "cheap" hostels in the contrary to Polish owners who take almost nothing for sleeping in their high strandard hotels.

Who allows you AussieSheilla, to write your opinions on public forum?
You are creating stereotypes. You took a bad part of Poland, nothing more.
So, I took a worse part of Australia.

I am not sure if you are right.

Me and censorship? I am not a very frequent guest in here.
I just like reading this page form time to time, because it is a mine of language and knowledge.

I also think that everybody have a right to say what he/she wants.
But I partly agree with Torq, that some posts should be moderated, because they create deceitful picture of Poland.

Perhaps with a little guidance from the very same ppl killing her off now, she WOULD be able to be more positive about the Motherland.

Well, I guess, that killing people off is a normal practise in here MareGaea.

News / New cross war in Warsaw [530]

A cross divides poeople these days - many say those words in news.
It's has always been one of the most important symbols in my country.
What it means for Polish people? Who knows it? Everybody can say what the cross means for him.
The war against the cross is just a natural state of fight and defence...
Just like Torq said in one of his posts. "Being Polish means to stand for something." Many people stay for a cross. Because it has a meaning form them.

For many it is a symbol of democracy and freedom... A symbol of suffer.
So why do media call it a war against cross?
Do these people want this war?
They just want to have a right to show what they feel. They want to expose their emotions and values a cross brings...

News / New cross war in Warsaw [530]

Seanus wrote "That cross should be left alone".
I don't agree with you. We are in Poland. Society is mostly Catholic.
Leaving a cross alone for many means leaving a spirit of being Polish.
Bratwurst boy wrote:
"Those who need a cross in their lives should have the right to do so...in their private rooms...those who don't likewise."

Why? Let's say a cross for me is equal to freedom.
"it does nothing but weaken the state..."
It does. But how to tell those crazy people not to be stubborn and fanatic...You are right that it weakens the state.
