Life / Christmas in Poland - commercial, religious, family get together or what? [23]

One positive change from the commie days, however, is the growth of charitable activites.

Thats the only positive aspect of Xmess. When im in the country, i work at the food kitchen in a homeless shelter and donate lots of stuff.

Too bad that i get into that mood once a year only.

Working in the kitchen should be fine without language skills.
We even have an American church, where i worked as a driver.
Maybe they have something similar in Poland.

My Polish is a bit rusty:
homeless shelter = schronisko dla bezdomnych?
charity work = praca charytatywna?

I dont remember the word for "donate".

I guess thats what bumped me most culinary wise. :D
On the other hand, some non practicing german protestants have vienna sausages and potato salad(same as you get at a fast food joint). urgh

News / Poland's Guy Fawkes [88]

Some people in the States resent monitoring by the FBI and CIA or restrictons imposed by Homeland Security (removing shoes during airport checks, etc.)

LOL, so you think removing shoes is the best they can do? They can fly you out to Guantanamo without a trial and without anybody knowing. There you will receive such nice treatments like waterboarding, sleep deprivation etc.. And all that because your neighbour didnt like your new car and planted some evidence.

Besides, anyone who's isn't sneaky or underhanded has nothing to hide.

I am sure you wouldnt mind living in a police state. I for one enjoy my privacy and resent the idea of living in fear.

The Internet is a medium like all the rest, just another stage in the development of communication and should be subjected to all the rigours and restrictions legally binding radio, TV and printed press.

No its not. Its other than the rest a two way road. There is no way in hell i would allow some selfrighteous state organs to install trojans on my computer.

You have some really strange world views...

Law / Online kantory in Poland [14]

Obviously normal kantors are a ripoff and exchanging money in the bank is downright stupid.
While researching alternate possibilities, i stumbled upon online kantory like:

cinkciarz.pl

Has anybody used them?
Are there any hidden costs?
Are there other ways to exchange Euros that arent a complete robbery?

Law / Online kantory in Poland [14]

BZWBK was a margin of just 0.075gr on the interbank Euro rate.

My kantor of choice is offering:
EURO 412

:o :o :o WOW
In Szczecin the situation is a bit different. :(
quantor.pl/kantory/szczecin.html

And yes i have negotiated in both for serious amounts, but was never able to come close to what you guys get.

Now we have his "home", "basement", "garage", "several sites across Poland" and "tried to buy them".

Which one is it?

Love / Polish couples living out of wedlock? [108]

Child, religion is an antiquated concept for weak people.
When you are old enough you can make up your own mind if you want to be dipped.
We will have a huge party this Sunday with a lot of presents instead.
And if you play with those nutcases again, you wont get pocket money for a year. :D

News / Repopulating Poland with Ukrainians? [67]

Thats called diversity.
Id choose hardworking Asians over fascists blaming others for their shortcomings anytime.

Thats what i meant by diversity:

The problem of a disappearing culture begins when you have immigration from Africa, Middle East, and South Asia. They have a completely different culture, different religion etc.

"Fascist" was not mentioned at all in this thread. Are you referring to all Ukrainians as "fascists" ?

Nope, i was referring to certain members on PF.

Remember that diversity isn't just about skin color. Language, hair color, facial features, hair texture, and many other components form diversity.

Language is the only not redundant thing you mentioned.
And you are forgetting about all the good things diversity brings with it: food, arts, sports etc..

Liberal:
Pro big governmet - which goes against all the things the definition lists
Cuddling of minorities
Discrimination against whites
Pro welfare state

Oh my, where do i start?
There are lots of liberals who oppose too much government and are even white. ;)
Not KKK white, but still Caucasian.
Other than that too much FOX propaganda.

Delphdope obviously never read enough wiki or he would see that a few sentences below it says...
"According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, "In the United States liberalism is associated with the welfare-state policies of the New Deal program of the Democratic administration of Pres. Franklin D. Roosevelt"

I thought we were talking about Poland.

whereas in Europe it is more commonly associated with a commitment to limited government and laissez-faire economic policies."

There you go.

free and fair elections (really? representative democracy is hardly free and fair.

Everybody can vote and each vote counts the same. Whats not free and fair about that?

civil rights (I could write an essay why this is a joke)

Please do.

freedom of the press (ya sure try to criticize Jews or gays or Israel on the big MSM, you wouldnt get far; the press is essentially fascist because it wont allow REAL freedom of speech)

Articles like that are being written everyday and fortunately it is not mainstream.

freedom of religion (ya give freedom to other religions at the expense of Catholicism which is more native to Poland.

What other religions? Poland is still one of the few strongholds of Catholicism in Europe.

right to life (ahah liberals usually favor pro-choice" and thus are prodeath)

Liberals have the liberty to choose what they believe. And pro-choice is not pro-death but pro-reason. ;)

All in all you are twisting the statements to suit your believes and not very good at that.

Edit: And im sure there is something like the fascistopedia, where you can find your views of gasing Jews and rounding up gays.
