Love / Sexual appetites of Polki (in the 21st century) [31]

do they want to enclose you into the dark hole never to get out on the surface?

Is this from Maynard James Keenan or something? ("You ever have somebody who loved you so much she tried to kill you? Dragged you down into a hole and you had to kill her to get away? …Yeah, me neither.")

UK, Ireland / Advantages of living in Poland as opposed to the UK. [126]

I can`t agree. Strong beer is better in Poland. Sorry.

We're going to have to agree to disagree. I am pretty selective in my beer-tastes, but Anglo-Irish beer is some of the finest brews, with lots of variety.

Also, Poland has hotter women (this goes without saying.) I mean, it's a given.

Law / Investors/Entrepreneurs.. Steer Clear of Poland. [77]

[Moved from]: (Poland) got two years until investors get worried about its ability to repay Debt

I just received notice that Poland has about two years until investors get worried about its ability to repay their debt and a Greece-like crisis will happen. The problem is Polish debt outpacing Polish GDP growth.

Food / Longest pizza record attempt in Poland [21]

They just make long ones now? Whatever happened to round pizzas cooked by the strength of the sun (and maybe some fire pits)?

Life / WHY DO POLES USE ENGLISH WORDS IN CONVERSATION? [396]

People do the same thing in English: Ciao, hola, c'est la vie, gesundheit. It's an influx of English-language culture (music, movies) that have a big effect on the rest of the world. We like to call it "Soft Power."

Travel / Hospitality, Scenery, Food, Clean Streets: My POSITIVE experiences in Poland (!) [39]

This all sounds wonderful! The street cleanliness is a really nice part of Poland. In places like New York and Ireland, the streets a dirty, trash-strewn, and disgusting.

I disagree with a few points (namely that Kaszanka is wonderful.)
Polish beer sucks: polishmeknob.blogspot.com/2009/06/beerfest-be-not-held.html

Beyond the 'wild beauty', their homes are usually more spotless than museums. Entire apartments are usually scrubbed down once a week, and any mess or blemish is not tolerated. (Not so good for a slob like me.)

News / Poland and Kresy being reunited? [162]

I highly doubt this will happen any time soon, but one never knows what the future will hold.

History / Was there sex in Poland during communist regime? [60]

Little known fact: behind the Iron Curtain it was a hot, non-stop fuckfest; it just didn't make it beyond the Soviet Censors. Why do you think there was an Iron Curtain to begin with (they had some modesty towards Western Europe)? Why do you think the Soviet system fell? Was it because that there were inherent flaws to the communist way? Was it because their economy was stagnating? Was it because the US was rapidly expanding their military and the Soviets just couldn't expand theirs any more? No. It was because everyone was getting busy with everyone else and no one had any time to actually produce anything or run the country.

True story.
