Genealogy / Want to find a person [762]

Just remember all the info you leave on the Internet may come back one day to bite you in the a$$. You may think its cool now but what if you have someone stalking you and you lead them right to your door. Or you apply for a job and have left a long trail of things you now wish were never posted. Food for thought. It's on here forever.

You should rinse the sauerkraut but be careful not to rinse all the flavor too much.

Food / Polish Milk Soup [72]

but I am told it is also known in the american cuisine...

Well I live in the US and have never heard this on this side of th epond or any other for that matter. The only soup I know of that you drop eggs into is eggdrop soup. Chicken broth brought to a boil and eggs beatten then stirred into. Yum. I think it might be taken from the Chinese cuisine.

Genealogy / Looking for relatives.... Chodacka, Chodacki [9]

Merged: Walter Chodacki - looking for my uncle

I am looking for my uncle (Walter Chodacki) without any information as to where he lives except England. I just found a tiny clue on a photo just found that may or may no be a bit of evidence. Maybe he lives in the area or maybe just visiting this place as it looks like a seaside resort. (or use to be) Back of foto says Morecambe 5/9/1959 He is deceased but we are trying to locate family.

Genealogy / Why are some Polish people dark complected, and others very light [511]

In my family there are two girls and two boys. My sister keeps being asked if she is Spanish and my younger brother is a towhead with blue eyes. The rest are brown hair and brown or hazel eyes. My mom has dark hair and dark eyes and my dad (bald very early age) so we can't tell about him...LOL... but blue eyes. Mix it all up and you get what you get.

Maybe he is thinking of "Pusta glowa" as in Blond

Well blow me down. Thanks or the phonebook link it actually is valid. Found my aunt's and cousins names in it.

Last time I heard that Poles did not publish personal phonebooks on line only the business ones. Looks like they changed their minds about privacy.

Food / Pierogi recipe and filling from my grandmother [179]

When you say began with an "S" I am thinking it is the Polish word for breakfast which would be sniadanie. Farmers cheese is more of the equivalent of cottage cheese but it is much drier. Cottage cheese is very wet and creamy with either small or large curds. Does that help?
