Love / About Marriage agencies In Poland [20]

Making men fall in love with them is women's greatest weapon. Once that takes place, they have them doing whatever they ask of them, including lots of money on them - it's like the men lose brain cells when they're in love.

Travel / Are Polish people as unfriendly as Slovaks? [84]

I have only met one or two Slovaks and they seemed nice enough. Obviously it is difficult to formulate an opinion on a nation off one or two experiences, but I have always heard that it is Czech people who are much colder and less friendly than Slovaks.

Life / Boże Ciało (Corpus Christi) - a beautiful celebration in Catholic Poland [22]

Yes, and try to tell in public something like "This day is bs". You'll see then how Polish Catholics are peaceful

Why would you say that though, unless you purposely wish to provoke people? You are entitled to your views and don't have to take part.

I think 'dancing with the stars' among many other shows on TV, is BS, so I never watch. If others wish to then it's up to them.

Love / What do Polish women think of Italian/Native American men? [23]

This is what I've read out of this.

McDouche: I am an extremely handsome man. Women I have dated love me and think I'm hot while other women have gone up to me to tell I am extremely handsome, but this isn't enough, I need to stroke my ego a bit more, so can girls on this Polish site also tell me how much they love men like me.

Love / Fell in love with Polish girl at work : / [22]

By the way I don't think being together for 14 years without marriage or kids is that unusual with Polish people. You don't have to change your partners like toothbrushes. My girlfriend was with her previous partner for 9 years before they broke up - no marriage and no kids.

This isn't like back in the day when people just got hitched ASAP. I think a lot of people take finances in to account. Weddings are expensive and having kids is costly too. A lot of couples in Poland want to provide their children with stable futures and if they aren't sure they can do it yet, they prefer not to have children.

Love / Fell in love with Polish girl at work : / [22]

I've fallen for a Polish girl who has a boyfriend. She's very loyal and I'm not that type of person either but I still want to steal her from him.

This sentence alone makes you sound like a douchebag.

If you really like her and can't take it any more, let her know, telling her you know she has a boyfriend but you have to be honest about the way you feel. If this long relationship she has been in isn't that strong and she has any feelings for you, she will appreciate your honesty and might do something about it, but if she tells you to back off then back off.

Feedback / Would you favour a free and open PF where people could post under their real names? [55]

Well you ask if people about a forum where you could post under your real name. You can do that now. Do you mean a forum where you have to post under your real name?

If so, I wouldn't have an issue with it as I stand by what I say, but I know some folks on here have a habit of prying in to people's personal lives and then posting it on here when they get in to heated discussions.

Life / Opłatek, not presents, epitomises the true Polish Christmas spirit [85]

It's something the Poles and us Irish share. Repressed Catholic guilt.

Of course it would be a much better world if there was no God watching over us, life was meaningless and there was no justice when you died. Any of those who do evil in this lifetime will get away with it, and being a good person who are generous and lives an honest life, treating others with respect, well that's meaningless, at least in the long run, because we just live, die and who really cares.

That's the life I assume you believe in, but the more frightening and hard to understand thing is, why you think that things are actually better this way.

By the way I take it you live in Poland right? When in Rome buddy. Stop bashing Polish Christian tradition. Or perhaps go to live in Saudi Arabia and do the same there for a while. See how far it gets you.

News / Abortion still under control in Poland [2986]

To be honest we have seen democracy in action, something many try to pretend does not exist in Poland but it clearly does.

Yes the government took this idea of a complete ban on abortion to the next step, and the people protested on the streets. The voice of the people was heard and now it looks like it won't be going forward and the law is likely to remain as it is.

I remember PO not having their ears open to people's objections to things they did in quite the same way.

What's the issue?

Merged: Translation

A friend asked me to translate this and I did. Would you say this is right or could it be translated better?

Apparently this message was written by a photo of a flag stolen from an English flag at the Euro.

'Emigracja GKS Katowice wczoraj trafia na Anglików w Nicei ...'

''Migrants from GKS Katowice yesterday run in to English fans in Nice.'

Life / Whats up with Polish guys getting drunk and looking for a fight? [60]

Ask 1000 Poles what their feelings are about the refugees from Syria and the overwhelming majority wiil say " We don't want those people here.

I think you mix up racism with being level headed. A person does not have to dislike another race or culture, without wanting to allow to much of it in to their country in one go. In this sense, Polish people are smart. You can help some refugees, sure - but only the right ones, usually those with families who are genuinely running away for fear of their safety. Not too many either, otherwise they don't integrate, and that's very important. Poland wants to do the right thing by just taking families and spreading them out throughout the country.

The truth is multiculturalism has not worked anywhere. In Britain they keep banging on about how it is the countries biggest strength but it's all lies. The amount of problems it causes far outweighs the good and they know it, they just can't say it publicly.

As for guys in bars being unhappy with seeing Polish girls with an Arab looking guy, it's not just white European who act like this, even though the mainstream media would like us to believe it. Black girls get mad when a black guy is with a white girl and Asian don't like seeing their women with white men. It's a general thing. It's hard to explain, but there is some sort of jealousy there, to see somebody from a different culture out with someone from the opposite sex from your culture.

Life / Whats up with Polish guys getting drunk and looking for a fight? [60]

@Marc: do you know that NOT all Algerians are ... Arabs? There are for instance Kabyles (ex Zinedine Zidane) who are NOT Arabs.

Zinedine Zidane does look a little bit Arabic to be honest. He has a light skin tone but his facial structure is not that of a typical white European.

Is it always the same ones or different guys every time? It's not a particularly Polish thing to pick on people in bars, but some guys get drunk and it can happen? What nationality and race are you? That might have something to do with it.

News / Jacek Kurski, the new chairman of TVP (Telewizja Polska) [37]

washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2016/01/12/how-polands-controversial-new-media-law-could-effect-eurovision-europes-campy-song-contest

Funniest thing I've seen in a while. As if PiS will go '"out of the Eurovision? That's too far. Okay we'll do whatever you want."

News / Jacek Kurski, the new chairman of TVP (Telewizja Polska) [37]

As for nasty, there are the reports about the time he pulled down his drawers to prove he wasn't Jewish to some LPR types

Oh there are reports are there? Probably from the media sources who don't like him or PiS.

I sometimes wonder if PiS has a reverse vetting process - the nastier and more dishonest you are the more likely they are to appoint you to an important position.

In what way is Jacek Kurski nasty or dishonest? His bro on the other hand.

News / Poland's post-election political scene [4080]

There's a lot of centrist female voters that are furious about how Szydło has been sidelined.

Remember this post folks? I did enjoy all the assumptions that were made about how she would vanish, and yet she's the premier/prime minister, holding talks with leaders of other countries etc.

News / Poland's PiS party members and crime [346]

So you want to know how we do or do not feel about Duda's opinions on a PiS member who may or may not be a criminal. At least the president isn't a criminal.

How do you feel about former president Komorowski (who I'm sure you like) stealing all this stuff from Belweder? Not very classy for a former president to be such a thief. Unless of course fairies took it, because one way or another it has vanished?

News / Poland's PiS party members and crime [346]

I'm just amazed that you're doing everything to deflect from the fact that PiS have appointed a man that lost his driving licence twice to head up the road transport division.

It's amazing it's like a guy who stole the entire contents of a house, pointing the finger at someone who took a stapler and a couple of pens from work. How about we deal with the vast amounts of sh%t that PO has done first?

News / Duda invited to march in Poland's Independence Day parade [182]

PiS is not some Jewish pro Israeli party delph. I don't know where people get the impression that Kaczynski is a Jew. Even if he has Jewish ancestry, it's quite clear he's Catholic and the party is pro Catholic. Whether some of the narodowcy are just tolerating PiS for now or not, they're definitely happier now than when PO was in charge. In fact I saw some people in the march mention that they said they would return to Poland when PO was not in charge and now that this has happened, they've returned.

News / Poland's PiS party members and crime [346]

Perhaps other people can help to keep this thread updated with crimes committed by members of PiS?

You'll be hard pushed to find a whole bunch of crimes committed by PiS politicians or members, as much as you'd love to have dirt on them. Crimes that are committed and proven to be true normally get dealt with by PiS themselves, as in the big airplane case with Hoffman and others.

Okay thanks folks

I assumed it was this, but the character count threw me off and made me wonder if they wanted me to write the entire piece.

Thanks again.

Merged: What do they want from me? [for Polish speakers]

I applied to write for a magazine and they replied with this email

'Dzień dobry,
proszę zaproponować 2-3 tematy z krótkim uzasadnieniem oraz objętość (12.500, 7.500 lub 5.500 znaków).'

Do they want me to write a general summary of what the articles would be about or do they actually want me to write them? The fact that they have given me a word count is confusing to me.
