History / Poland's undying debt to Polonia [76]

If I see how the average Pole (including our friends) are living and existing, you do not have a clue how this country lives and ticks.

Polonia...
You long for the time when in the Polish village the farmers farmed and bowed to the local aristocrat...Sponsored the local priest...Jews knew their place (and if they wanted to advance they got "corrected" ). The local landlord, together with the priest kept the ordinary people down.

Back to the real world in real-life Poland.

History / Poland's undying debt to Polonia [76]

By overwhelmingly supporting PiS (70%), Polonians entitled to vote in Polish elections.

You mean the 70% who live in Poland, and know how the country ticks ?

News / Fraudsters and common thieves top the crime league in Poland [12]

Merged: What happened with the RM money for the Gdańsk shipyards

This remains a nice mystery. rydzyk was collecting money from all poor babcias in Polska B to save the Gdańsk shipyards... And then zip....it all disappeared, not one PLN paid out to the needy. (in his geothermal money scheme?). Was he ever held to account for this swindle? I do not think so.

History / What do Poles owe to Czechs? [89]

I am waiting for the regular polonia crowd to tell that the Czechs are actually Jews :)
As I remember the top ace in the Battle of Britain was a Czech, flying for 303. I do not know if this qualifies :)

Law / POLISH BEER IMPORT TO UK [37]

I was at home back in Belgium. Saw in my native Antwerp a "sklep spożywczy / towar prostu z Polski". Polish beer was 1,3 EUR. Insane - what with Belgian beer costing less...and much better...And who would buy Żywiec in Belgium?

Love / Are Polish girls open to foreigners? [78]

How would you approach a Caucasian girl in your country? Would they be different to Polish Caucasian girls? What makes you think Polish girls would be different = easier? Do you think girls from your own race are inferior? Why would you prefer a Polish girl?

Law / Penalty points on driving licences in Poland [26]

I have another question in this matter. I drive here in Poland since years with my Belgian driving license (perfectly legal since it is EU). But we do not have points in Belgium so I only would have to pay the penalty.. A friend of mine however told me that the points are also linked to one's PESEL ?

News / Polish final report on Smoleńsk aircrash [870]

And the Smolenkists keep moaning about the fact that the black boxes are not handed over to them.
Whereas they now have a problem, because Indonesia refused to hand over black boxes to Russia after the crash of the Russian plane, citing international law...

But somehow PIS missed this news because until now there was no reaction....

Law / Want to live with same-sex partner in Poland? Long-term residency. [15]

As far as I know a karta pobytu for Americans is usually two years (but sometimes is given as only a single year).

I thought a karta pobytu for two years is only issued to EU citizens, and this on the condition you can prove you can finance your stay?

Anyway, good luck to the OP.

History / What proportion of the Polish population collaborated with the Nazis? [125]

Who gives a sh** what proportion? As if we ask, how much Poles collaborate with NATO or EU (to put cross on myself)? For now, only important thing is that Poles survive.

But then you come from a tribe specialized in mass-murdering and gang-raping. And setting up camps just for that.

History / What proportion of the Polish population collaborated with the Nazis? [125]

Never heard of the Blue Police? Or the Świętokrzyśkie Brigade (and the NSZ in general)?
The Nazis did not allow the Poles to collaborate. So it is very easy to be righteous. What makes anyone think that the Poles had some mysterious DNA which prevented them from collaborating with the Nazis?

History / Poland: Her heroes and her traitors [239]

The entire Blue Police. Traitors every one of them. What makes them different from the Vichy Milice anyway?
The NSZ and its Świętokrzyżka brigade. They preferred to make peace with the nazis, to be able to kill Jews. Patriots?

History / Why do Polish people hate to be called Eastern European? [120]

Geographically, Poland, together with Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Austria, is Central European country.

Poland is indeed not Eastern European. It is a central European country, historically related to "Mitteleuropa". To call this country Eastern European is an insult.

By the way, this means Poland is not serbian, sarmatian, lusatian...as well :)
Churchill once told "Europe ends at the Bug".

Food / Bary mleczne/milk bars in Poland [31]

Here in Warsaw there is one in Nowe Miasto (has anybody been there by the way?), near the Barbakan.
Another one I know of is in Bielany, on Marymoncka.

History / 'Battle of Britain' won thanks to Polish aces !! [158]

The top ace in the Battle of Britain was a Czech. I am not sure the Poles want to eloborate on that one?
Tendency in this country is that they won WWII single-handedly anyway.

USA, Canada / What do Poles think about drinking raw milk? In America, unpasteurized milk is PROHIBITED. [49]

one outside the Carrefour off Marymoncka street.

Care to elaborate? I am living in Bielany for over 7 years, around the corner from Marymoncka...There is no Carrefour there. And a "mlekomat" would be the story of the day in the local papers.

That said and done... what is wrong with milk straight from a cow? Surely much healthier than any KFC/McDo product.
