You may probably wonder which Poland's Wólka Mała it is, since couple of them on the Polish map, but my guess that's the one located on this map - check the proximity from Rydzewo town.

Your translation for the first sentence seems correct.
For the second one:

What comes easy...

I would say:
Co przychodzi łatwo nie jest wiele warte, a o to co warte posiadania, trzeba się postarać.

It's not easy to translate, there may be yet many variations of this meaning in Polish.

Dear Ruzia and whole of your family, I regret that it wasn't me first who knew about this sadness which happened to all of you, that your daddy is gone forever, but we don't need to despair, because we all will be gone someday eventually.

I was Friday after work in Auburn for 2 hours and I met with Emily who told me that your Daddy has died.
And in February (...) I haven't see Emily, because my back was hurting me, and I rushed to bed. Today Joe with a woman and her sister and brother in law, also son - they all went to Auburn, but I wasn't eager to drive, because last week Joe have cut enough of roses, and they(?) helped me to burn them, and now I'm tired and going to bed already. Here people got sick too, and a lot of friends have died, I am sending to you all many greetings and I feel sorry for your grief. Helena.

Classifieds / Someone help me with the Polish visa appointment! [203]

Are you talking about an appointment from the e-konsulat system?
In this case you should have your form number provided - for example on the .pdf visit confirmation.

I try to convert this letter to the more modern Polish and correct some grammar mistakes to make it more understandable.

Droga Ruzia i cała twoja rodzinka, bardzo jest mi przykro że ja pierwsza nie dowiedziałam się, że was taki smutek spotkał, że wasz tatuś już od was odszedł na zawsze, ale to nie trzeba rozpaczać, bo my wszyscy pomału poodchodzimy z tego padołu.

Ja byłam w piątek po pracy w Auburn 2 godziny i Emily mnie spotkała to mi mówiła, że wasz tatuś umarł.

The very beginning of the second page is not clear for me (the meaning)
a wtedy w lutym jak byłam to ja nie robiła byłam zapłacić, także ani u Emily nie byłam, bo mnie mocno plecy bolały, to się spieszyłam do łóżka. A dziś też był Joe z kobietą i jej siostrą i szwagier, i syn - jechali do Auburn, ale ja też nie chciałam jechać, bo w zeszły tydzień Joe poobcinał dosyć róż, to dziś pomogły spalić (?), a ja już zmęczona to pójdę też na łóżko. Tutaj też ludzie chorują i dużo znajomych poumierało, zasyłam wam wszystkim pozdrowienia i współczuję wasz smutek. Helena.

Next, if nobody do it earlier, I'll try to translate it for English, but maybe tomorrow at the earliest.

Liza Powell

It's very far from Polish name, or she is after marriage with some Powell, and use English form of her Polish Eliza/Elżbieta first name.

Language / Good Polish Music To Help Me Learn? [41]

In the colloquial speech "nie ma się co bać" is quite a common form, however "nie ma się czego bać" is more proper grammatically I guess. Both forms are used in Polish though.

USA, Canada / Poles in America: How do you pronounce your Polish surname? [128]

say Szewka

Maybe something like 'Chevka', where 'Che' is pronounced like in Cher (this singer) name.

means "case"

For me the Szewka surname may come rather from the Polish word "szew" which means the seam, I suppose.

Travel / Need advice on trip to Poland [12]

1) https://polishforums.com/travel/poland-best-places-visit-2667/
2) I'm not using trains often but I think there's no need to purchase tickets in advance. One problem though - in case of smaller towns - sometimes there's no ticket office, and ticket you buy inside the train is much more expensive.

3) It depends. When weekends and more busy places I would recommend to book places in advance - booking.

Law / Not having a car insurance for a little while in Poland [13]

Of course it is a problem. Even if your car is not used, and registered, you have to pay insurance. The continuity of insurance must be preserved. The only way is to unregister it (but then impossible to re-register in Poland).

The ending of this sentence would be more meaningful. Anyway it may mean more less:
Anna is a good person but I (or she - this may be misspelled) want to keep my/her ...(?) on 'kommissar'.

Language / Short Polish<->English translations [1040]

This sentence is not complete. And it looks old - kommissarstwo means in this sentence probably a government job or function. And the part of this sentence might be translated like: I just want to keep my ... (?) /not finished/ on "kommissarstwo"
