Love / Are there any swingers club in Poland? [52]

No you don't, and again, worth asking yourself in what way your posts comment to the thread or the hapless gentleman's experience with Polish gangsters and strippers.

Love / Are there any swingers club in Poland? [52]

The type of hapless men who are gullible enough to allow themselves to be hooked into Polish B-drinker joints by parasol-twirling streetwalkers (the oldest trick in the book) probably haven't got the initiative for that.

It takes good look not luck, in your case you need luck.

You've never met me and are unlikely to unless a. you go up in the world or b. get a job in a cloakroom...

Anyone who goes into that sort of bar is a fool. There are several in Warsaw, basically 'B-drinker' (google it) joints. Especially the ones on ul.Chmielna (the Nowy Świat end). You can often spot the girls (sometimes twirling parasols) either there or at the start of ul. Foksal trying to hook passing men into the bars.

A curse of capital cities and dangerous places for foolish people.

I agree with the lapine poster; it is unlikely to help. Did you sign a contract for the work? Unfortunately in Poland, if there's no written contract, it simply didn't happen. Did you commission the work through one of those online portals? If so, that might be the way to go.

News / Abortion still under control in Poland [2986]

This is true. Women have been using Pennyroyal and Ergot for centuries to flush out foetuses and both are still used in countries with primitive laws on terminating pregnancies. Both can be very dangerous yet still women are prepared to risk that.

It would be a tragedy if that returned to Poland.

News / Poland's post-election political scene [4080]

. Your claim about those 48 is just as Much of a blatant falsehood

Unfortunately falsehoods are the stock in trade of that particular political tendency, something we see time and time again.

News / Abortion still under control in Poland [2986]

If that were me, I would base that decision on information from the doctor

Yes, on medical matters a doctor is certainly a more appropriate authority than anyone else.

Who gives you the right to say that a woman should have to give birth to her rapist's baby

Indeed. Supremely selfish.

We are not going to agree on this I'm afraid, it is a subject that forever we could go round and round in circles

Remember religious people are usually convinced they're right no matter what. Until it happens to them of course...

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2237]

When you control for drug and/or gang violence

Why would anyone remove those from gun crime stats (btw, suicide isn't a crime n most countries therefore wouldn't show up on crime stats)?

For that matter how would other countries' gun crime stats look if you removed

drug and/or gang violence

?

The right of self defense?

In Poland, that does not include the right to bear firearms and sale is highly controlled. Gun crime statistics show that this standard approach is effective. We would not want the US level of gun crime here.

I should be able to purchase and take a gun to my home

You can, provided your purchase is in accordance with the law, including gun storage. You cannot walk around town with a loaded gun in your pocket. That is illegal under Polish law.

The point is I cannot buy one or keep it in my house without license

Why should anyone be able to?

You need license to drive it on public road

Exactly.

if you drive it abound in your backyard you're good.

And if you go to a shooting range you can fire a gun. You can't however go out and about in the streets with one and there is no significant public desire for the law in Poland to change on that point.

Being killed by a weirdo with a gun is not

Remember guns don't kill people. People do. Cars don't kill people either; the drivers do. Which is why society has very strict controls about who can drive cars, where they can drive them, how they can drive them and how fast.

Life / West-East life in Poland? [45]

East is typically less developed.

That's part of the charm. A sparser population and less industrialisation. More traditional, a slower life and far less business.

UK, Ireland / Time for Polish Leaving England [15]

May's

Unelected. She was actually supposed as Home Secretary to reduce the migration numbers: in fact she specifically promised to do so. The numbers increased during that time.

strong Brexit respons

37% of the electorate in favour, many of that 37% now saying they regret it. In London and the big cities, people are generally fine.

A bit like saying that just because PiS scraped in to office in Poland, all those in the majority who don't support them have suddenly changed attitudes.

And no change in the status of people already there.

it is no longer desired for Poles to live in UK

Not particularly true, most have no problem with it.

Sounds like a troll.

Life / Being a Jew in modern-day Poland; Israeli Jew who is of Polish descent [279]

The Chief Rabbi of Warsaw, Schudrich,

Michael Schudrich. Because of who he is, the police really went to town and for once the street cameras were actually able to trace the assailant who was locked up.

Yep old gits who live in the past.

I remember one older guy just standing there and shouting at a group of lady tourists in pl. Grzybowska.

Poland as some kind of hateful place that it is not

Yes, despite the sentiments that people express, on the whole Poles are quite reserved and polite with strangers.

Hehe, certainly some Labour events, especially in Islington.

It could cause problems if someone was walking alone through some of the cities here; the Chief Rabbi was beaten up in the street in Warsaw a while ago and I've heard people (usually older people) ranting out loud about particular ethnic groups here. Most are fortunately too polite.

News / Nazi gold train 'found in Poland' [90]

Regarding zloty pociag,

A great story though, even if it was a tourist scam. Everybody likes lost treasure. Today, the golden train, tomorrow the Amber Room, next JK's girlfriends...

Thus, Poland cannot keep the belongings stolen from people.

Of course all Jewish-owned houses and apartments were returned to the owners' heirs, weren't they...

Genealogy / The typical Polish look, or all Eastern Europeans [676]

Remember, Poleboy765, that there have been huge movements of population in the last few years. First as part of the post-war border changes and then there was industrialisation. That means there isn't such a regional 'look' as there once was.
