iamkjelle 1 | - 16 Sep 2014 #1So I just moved to Poland and today I got a polish telephone number (Orange) which included 1 GB data. I also bought an additional 6 GB of data at a newspaper stand and got a receipt with a couple of codes and a whole lot of polish on it.How do I add these 6 GB's to my SIM-card?Oh, and also, if I re-charge with my 6GB, will they add upon whatever data I have left or will it just set my total amount to 6GB?

Caligal - | 1 24 Apr 2016 #3Merged: Having micro sim card installed and activated in GdanskI will visit Gdansk soon for 5 days. I would like to buy a pre-paid micro-sim card for my unlocked iPhone 4, have it installed and have service activated for me. I do not read or speak Polish. Where is the best place to have this done in Gdansk? Airport? What is the name of a place that will sell and activate my phone for me?I would like to purchase a micro-sim card with at least 2GB for use with a navigation app. Is the Orange Na Karte Starter a good choice. I am mostly interested in a data card. Thank you for any help you can give.
kpc21 1 | 763 24 Apr 2016 #4In any kiosk with newspapers and similar stuff. Might be at the airport, it doesn't matter, the pre-paid SIM card prices are fixed by the operators, so wherever you buy it, the price is the same. It will be already active, you don't have to activate it (although the government wants now to change it, and in some time it will be probably necessary to register the SIM card giving the address of residence first, before being able to use it).Orange may not be the cheapest option (I am not sure about the current price levels), but the differences between operators aren't so big. Play is generally a little bit cheaper than the others, but some people claim that it has worse coverage (for Internet - but for the calls it's the best one in Poland).Or if you have any problems, something doesn't work and you don't know how to make it working, go to a shop of the given operator in any big shopping mall. They should help you, and probably each big shopping mall has shops of all the main mobile operators: Orange, Plus, T-Mobile and Play.
jon357 71 | 21,124 24 Apr 2016 #5pre-paid micro-simAsk them for a micro sim. Be clear you want that and not a sim or nano sim. Every shop in the airport sells them.
marteen - | 2 13 Jul 2016 #6Merged: How to activate SIM CARD in PolandHello. I am going to buy prepaid sim card in Poland. ( Orange/T-mobile/Play ) How to activate the sim card? How long does it take to activate the sim card? Can I use it right when I buy it? Thanks!
jon357 71 | 21,124 13 Jul 2016 #7Can I use it right when I buy it?You can use it right away; no need for any special activation unless you want a particular package. For that you should look on the website.
kpc21 1 | 763 14 Jul 2016 #8If you want to use the card after January 2017, you will have to register it. The easiest it will be to do it in a shop of your provider, e.g. if you get an Orange SIM card, go to an Orange shop to register it.
lgfox 27 Sep 2017 #9Merged: How to activate prepaid sim card (Play) in Poland?Hi everyone!I recently bought a Play prepaid card (Play na karte starter pack).I am trying to activate it by making a call, but every time I try it, all I can hear is an automated message in Polish which unfortunately I don't understand.I would appreciate your help.
kaprys 3 | 2,286 28 Sep 2017 #10Have you registered it?All prepaid numbers must be registered now. They won't work otherwise. You can do it at the operators' shop.
jagarmarten 28 Sep 2017 #12No, it's not. From 2017 you need to register a new SIM card at the operator shop. Just bring your ID or passport. In 10 minutes your card will be registered.
cms 9 | 1,255 28 Sep 2017 #13It can take longer than 10 mins as there are often queues. Try and go in the daytime when most customers are working.
