people that gave them victory in el

Don't be silly. They got in due to a low turnout with only 18% of voters falling for their lies and hysteria.

You would have to look hard here in Warsaw to find anyone who has anything good to say about them.

When did you last live in Poland? Which decade?

Life / Why is circumcision not practiced in Poland? [701]

This myth is especially common in US.

There is no sense whatsoever in practising this unless there is a specific medical issue affecting the patient.

Circumcised men must miss out on so much.

See the poll above, and others posted here. They suggest the exact opposite of what you are trying to pretend.

Nobody here is optimistic in any sense about this awful regime - every step they take is damaging the economy, restricting freedoms, damaging the country's international reputation.

A gift for Russia who just love the instability the Kaczynski gang have caused.

More to the point, it's obvious that the money for these socialist policies is coming from the ordinary man in the street.

Their 'policies' will just cost people's jobs. Polish bond yields are already scarily high and the effect on the economy is shocking.

People are genuinely pessimistic about the future. The only positive thing is that as soon as there's an election, PiS will be out.

The fact that someone even thought that it was acceptable to take 20 million złoty from hospices to give to a priest is unbelievable

That's actually horrific.

News / Let's protest censorship in Poland's mainstream media! [90]

The proof of the pudding is in the eating.

I-S, there's neither pudding nor proof. It's bizarre that you say people who vote for parties other than your favourite one are "Polish-speaking Soviets" and it's a throwaway remark about a lot of people which just doesn't make any sense.

And you still can't back it up with any evidence.

If however we want to talk about Soviet mentality in a thread about media censorship, you should be well aware of the severe criticism of the PiS regime for trying to stifle media that questions their economic programme and their attacks on the constitution

My guess would be that it was very shortly before the censorship of Poland's mainstream media by the PZPR ended

Nail. Head. Hit...

They are mentally and culturally soviets

If anyone is like that, it's the PiSites. Yet you fail to provide one teensy weensy bit of evidence for your wild assertion.

Remind us, how long ago was it that you emigrated from Poland?

And other parties are what, Korean ?

Precisely.

PO party tried to sell parts of Poland to Germans including part of Slask (Silesia) and Kaszubs.

A lie

Parties such as PO and Petru are essentially lobbyists for foreign big business which is the equivalent of being pro-EU

Utter nonsense.

And since public money is short, how many theatres, museums etc will lose out.

Toruń innstitution has done much to promote genuine Polish cultrual

No it hasn't.

If one identical twin was not gay according to you then the other is not gay either.

That's simply not true. There have been rigorous studies about identical twins which disprove what you allege.

You've also said he's married (he isn't) and that he has lived with women (he hasn't).

We know he is very fond of his pussies

Who among us isn't?

As part of an investigation, begun in 1992, of right-wing political parties that, the documents said, 'could threaten democracy,' a Secret Service department then headed by Colonel Jan Lesiak reported, 'It is advisable to establish if Jaroslaw Kaczynski remains in a long-term homosexual relationship and, if so, who his partner is.'"

Kaczynski's homosexuality had been rumored since Lech Walesa made a comment 13 years ago on national television regarding the twins' arrival at his birthday party: "Lech came with his wife and Jaroslaw came with his husband.

Three guesses who spoon fed them that racist nonsense :)

Bingo. Absolute nonsense and they don't quite understand that most people (in the capital, anyway) realise that very well.

so why not coming out of the closet? ;)

Easy answer. The bulk of PiS voters (not that there were that many) are elderly, poorly educated, small town/rural, believing in religious superstitions and with a very limited outlook on life.

He doesn't have any support from any other demographic so he's terrified about alienating that one.

If he is gay then he's probably in the self-loathing camp (so to speak).

Absolutely - and desperate it isn't discussed any more than it is already. Amazing how many in the far-right lead double lives which invariably rebound on them - Jorge Haider and Nick Griffin are the classic examples.

With Jaro, it will sooner or later become an issue; depending on whatever blunder his puppet regime does next.

You represent Poland now?

Perhaps rather more than yourself who's never been here (or even to the same continent), doesn't even speak the language, has no real connection to the country yet spams a discussion forum with creepy stuff about what people should or should not do here...

Isn't it past your bedtime in Australia?

Where are all those statistics from

From the Polish government.

And since when Kaczynski is a homosexual???

Probably since birth. It's not exactly a secret; President Wałęsa outed him on live TV.

It is changing for better thoug

This is good, however the reason Americans do it isn't in any way shape or form because of

habit of certain ethnic group pushed on American

It's because doctors there are unfortunately allowed to charge money to their patients or to their patients so-called health insurance so they push it as something they can get an income from. That and Protestant American Puritanism that thinks sex is bad - because circumcision damages sexual response and men who've had it feel and enjoy less.

There are no health benefits whatsoever from male circumcision (unless you're an adult who needs it for the obvious) and to inflict it on a child is abuse.

Yes, you are a d...head, however this thread is pointless since we don't routinely practice circumcision here unless the person has either phimosis or a foreskin that hasn't properly retracted.

I have never seen one in Poland that has that issue.

Probably nobody with homosexual orientation

Given that the party leader, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, is a practising homosexual, I'd say that you're barking up the wrong tree there. As for IQ, I doubt any serious study has been done on IQ and voting habits. What has been studied in Poland is educational attainment and voting habits. Those studies, available to all show that PiS voters are less likely to have higher or even further education that voters of other parties.

our

As a teenage Australian, you'be never even visited our continent and probably never will and your or anybody else's 'ancestors' are an irrelevance. My own ancestors were from Poland and even wore the crown of this country but that doesn't give me or anyone else the right to snark...

As is this thread, since circumcision is not done here.

I live where the hell I like within Europe and have a right to live here, which you by the way don't.

However circumcision, an American habit is wrong. A pointless thread since male circumcision is not routinely practised in Poland.

For once we agree. I don't give a flying f'*ck about what's 'slavic' or what is isn't but circumcision is just pointless and harmful mutilation.

There's actually a thread about this here - maybe the mods will merge.

In my dictionary they are potential voters until they actually vote

Voters are voters, whether they bother to show up or not. I always vote; my forbears fought hard for the right to do so and I don't understand why some people are apathetic.

all polls that are against your imaginary facts,

The polls show that the current regime are unpopular and the puppet president is low in the ratings too.

Sooner or later (could be Petru but I doubt it) someone will emerge that is genuinely popular and hopefully not populist it won't be Kukiz, won't be Biedroń (though they love him up in Słupsk), it won't be anyone with strong links to the Church, but it will be someone and hopefully someone far more moderate and less hysterical than Kaczynski. Though that wouldn't be hard.

Again. In almost every poll taken since then Poles are 80% or more for staying in the EU.

It's actually one of the highest approval ratings anywhere for continued EU membership. Poland hugely supports the EU. Those tiny handfuls of beardies who shop up in public with giant crosses and banners about Eurowhatever are a tiny, tiny minority.

Since they didn't vote they aren't voters

Buy a dictionary

I like current govt and know many more ppl that like it.

All polls indicate that the people you are crass enough to discuss politics with in real life (assuming it is in real life) are in a minority. Most people do not support the present regime.

Given that most voters didn't actually turn out to vote and now we have a regime that nobody likes, it's very fair to criticise them.

News / Poland's post-election political scene [4080]

Most Poles did not know what they were getting in for.

That's absolutely naive, an underestimation of voters and ignores the vigorous 'no'campaign.

It also falls down flat when you consider the fact that within the EU, Poles are one of the nations that support continued membership most strongly.

The government can't 'take care' of anything, because we have a single European market.

Exactly, it's this misunderstanding that is confusing the political issue. Poland chose the single market and although the tax office certainly doesn't like the fact that someone can register their business elsewhere, rather than whine it's incumbent on them (and the government in office) to provide an environment where people don't need to do this.
