History / Destruction of Ukrainian churches in Poland in 1938 [289]

It is sad that Poland and Ukraine had a time in history of extreme violence. The fact is, it did happen and on both sides. Please see the link below. The word 'Vołyniec' meant something derogatory in my home. Maybe it is because some of my mother's siblings (not her) were born in Eastern Kresy where my maternal grandparents owned a couple of water mills. As far as I remember from some stories they moved back to Poland fearing for their lives. I wish I knew more about my grandparents experience but they died when I was a kid and I lost my parents early too. Based on my mom's total aversion to Ukrainian people tells me that she did not have a happy childhood there.

There many incidents like this one.

Love / Polish women are the most beautiful in the world! [1718]

she wears hot shorts or mini skirt with stockings

Yeah, you guys are so visual..maybe she wears it because she likes it? Most likely - it is not for YOU! Gosh, i used to wear short skirts, shorts etc..it does not mean I'm "hunting" and ready for adventure... It's the the fashion, it's sexy, I like it. That's it. Get it?

It's your problem that your imagination gets you going.

Stolarz is easy, it is a word. Mastej..not. Event if taking the syllables apart. Dos not seem to mean anything. Are you sure it is not abbreviated from something also? Some letters taken out at Ellis Island..I don't know.

Life / Do you collect mushrooms in your country? Poles in Poland do. [94]

One wrong mushroom and poof! a whole family can die.

it takes a lot skill and knowledge to pick wild mushrooms. There are plenty of poisonous mushrooms. I never heard of anybody dying, but there could be some serious belly disturbance if you know what I mean...it is important to really know the stuff.

Life / Do you collect mushrooms in your country? Poles in Poland do. [94]

I never went to pick mushrooms here in the USA and I didn't like to that in Poland. Anyway, I'd have to trip over a mushroom to find it :) However, I enjoyed picking pure, organic blueberries in the forest! Oh, the taste. You can not even imagine it if you never had them.

Now, I'm stuck with some blueberry farms in Michigan, oh well. They are pretty tasty too and fresher than from the store.
Last year pictures and that's how it works!

History / Chances of Moscow becoming part of Poland again? [102]

Eurola:
Population increases and the lands get scarce.

I did not say that, Nathan did in his opening thread.

If there is a population increase, it's not the Polish or any western one. How about sending all the Muslims from Europe all the way to Moscow?

Language / Nice Polish words to say to a girl [147]

Girls like bad boys

Yes, we love the life time assignment to make them good, (unfortunately). Then we get mad and he has to forfeit his life time savings to his 'żabcia'.

Marriage is the sucker's walk.

so..you'll never get married or you are walking the sucker's walk already? :)

I don't know about Poles in Poland, but I think people in America would come negative on that average number. Unless, they are Polish Americans...then we have planty saved for a rainy day.

Your last name is unusual but there's nothing wrong with it.

Exactly, some poster's mind works in a mysterious ways and it might be because their brain being contaminated with all the additives in the food...please forgive them. There is nothing wrong with your last name. It means a 'skewed-neck'. Is it so bad? Not really.

Travel / Your best memory after visiting Poland [41]

and am half Black(Black, Irish, Cherokee) and Half White (Polish).

I don't think the irish would appreciate to be included in the half black part...
Anyway, a quite interesting combination with a handsome result. I'm glad to hear you went to visit Poland.
