Lopienka… it’s a village who not longer exist. There are no houses; only a cerkiew which was rebuilt recently because it’s a place of pelgrimage; There is a revered icon of the Madonna with Child. The cerkiew was closed and we could see it.

This cerkiew is located Nordwest of Buk at almost 5 km. Only a forest-way in bad condition lead to that spot.

Lopienka?

i have been to Lopienka some time ago. Thanks for the pics. They are great.
My father comes from Berezka, which is close to Lesko and my mother comes from Rakowa. My fathers house is still there, as for my mother's house it no longer exists.

Dear Miranda.

Thank you once more!
We were also in Myckow and Polanczyk nearly Berezka.
I send still others pictures, but for today it's enough, I get tired.
I also possess a big file with all the churchs which had been destroyed or still exists.
It's in English and Ruthenian.
The server I use do not allow to send it by email. If you will? ... maurits.devits@telenet.be
