We are going back this summer (tickets in hand!!!) I'll be sure to post some more pics. Anybody know some good things to do near Bialystok? My brother in law is suggesting a side trip to Vilnius or Riga....

the sixth photo (black and white shot of a street):
Can you tell me where that was taken, please?

That was in Poznan. January believe it or not :)

but I had never even heard of Mielno (ooops). Quite gorgeous as well :)

Mielno is a popular Baltic vacation spot. I stayed in Chłopy which is a short distance from Mielno.
I'll post a few pics from nearby Baltic cities

Haha...oh good :) Surely there are more of us as well :P

The place looks really pretty. I love the water, and I always hear how beautiful the Baltic Sea is. I guess we'll both have to visit it the next time we're in Poland

Can I just add that there is also a [urlc=hhttps://polishforums.com/archives/2005-2009/travel/warsaw-past-present-future-photo-1275/]Warsaw Picture thread[/url]......

It doesn't much bother me how many threads there are. You post 'em and I'll look at 'em.

Hello everyone ! I'm French (actually half French and half Polish) and I made a blog about Poland with quite beautiful photos on it, the address is :

polandia.skyblog.com

The site is in French but that's not important, the most important thing is all the pics ;)

Aww...you mean me :P

The Cult truly rocks, so I'm glad I got supporters of that here.
Shawn - I used windows movie maker...which thankfully made it really easy

I love the pictures of the swans on the Baltic. When I finally get there, I'm going to take a flood of pictures. It's impossible to have a bad one, I see.

Yes, I know it well. My wife comes from Czestochowa and this is not very far away at all. Nothing much there to see, mind you, though the countryside is nice. Best of all is to go down towards the Czech border.

Kazimierz Dolny (taken Sept 2005

For me, the best place in Poland, probably as it is the only place I know in that country which does not look like Poland!

Michal,

My mother was born in Czestochowa and I have some close friends there. I love the town centre and it's unique atmosphere. I visit at least once a year.

Actually, to tell you the truth, I think it is an awfull place and visit it as little as possible. Obviously, I do not have that 'personal touch' with the place though as your family comes from there then that is a different story.

Actually, my wife's family comes from a little village called Skrzydlow, which is a fair drive from Czestochowa.
