You are not stupid. Just think. Think good.
Eurovision - Today I will be ashamed to be Polish
have just seen Konstrakta and yes, I didn't understand anything
I just saw Achille Lauro and understand everything.
Konstrakta
Yuk.
Achille Lauro
Did he catch fire and sink?
Did he catch fire and sink?
No.... he rode a pink mechanical bull while dressed like a glitter cowboy... because.... eurovision

@mafketis
That would look great in the final.
Ukraine will certainly win, unless russia bribes the juries. Who will come second and third?

Didn't make it.... too bad. Neither did Georgia (one of my favorites)..... bunch of generic crap did make it though (Australia and Romania were the worst offenders)
Ochman is in the final. Och man!!!

I suppose they have to balance the extreme stuff with the banal stuff.
Interesting that Australia is now in Europe.

Australia
Why Australia and bunch of non Europen countries are in that Eurovsion. I know it is crap some people watch just to cheer for their country but still Australia, I guess Isreal is there too, why not Nigeria?
They are being racist lol!
I guess all those politcians and fat cats in France and Germany need to be replaced with black young females. They can kiss goodbye to their money and their postions.
By the way Ochman was good, he can sing which can't be said about 60% of those taking part in Eurovsion in any given year. Some might think that Europe is a land of weridos that don't know how to sing and what a good music is. lol!
why not Nigeria?
Their music is too good for Eurovision.

Interesting info:
Why does Australia get to be in Eurovision?
Australia was invited to get involved as a gesture of goodwill for the show's 60th anniversary, which had a 'Building Bridges' theme. Then on February 12, 2019, Eurovision confirmed that Australia has secured a spot in the competition for the next five years until 2023.

'Building Bridges'
Have they build a bridge in Europe for free or something?

.... "It's a daring and at the same time incredibly exciting move. It is our way of saying; let's celebrate this party together!" said Eurovision Song Contest Executive Supervisor Jon Ola Sand.
"At the very heart of the Eurovision Song Contest is the importance of bringing countries together to celebrate diversity, music and culture. We have admired and respected SBS's support of Eurovision for many years now and wanted to extend the invitation for Australia to join us in this special 60th Anniversary of the Contest. It would be remiss of us to throw the world's biggest party and not invite our Australian friends, who have such a long history and connection with Eurovision," he added....

Why the hell not?
Nobody said they are now part of Europe or will become a regular contestant....

I have nothing against Australia. I ask if them are OK for EURO - vision why not USA, New Zealand, Canada?
or Nigeria if that would be racist to choose only those countries.

It seems there needs to be a connection with Eurovision:
...Although Australia is not in Europe, Eurovision has been broadcast in the country for over 30 years. In 2014, the year before it would compete for the first time, viewing figures in the country peaked at 2.7 million....
walesonline.co.uk/lifestyle/tv/eurovision-2022-can-australia-compete-23944239
And Israel:
...Israel showed strong interest in the competition from the very beginning and it paid off very soon; they won for the first time in Paris in 1978 with the song A-Ba-Ni-Bi performed by Izhar Cohen and the Alphabeta. The Eurovision Song Contest travelled to Jerusalem in 1979 where Israel won the competition for the second time in a row...
I can only guess that the Eurovision isn't such a big thing in Nigeria....is it in the US?
And Israel:
Morocco even competed once (and I think has an open invitation to return but won't as long as Israel is competing).
IIRC in the event of an Australian win the following competition would take place in the UK...
And lots of European countries sit out Eurovision for shorter or longer periods. Turkey hasn't been in a while and I think Italy didn't compete for a long time....

I can do without Morocco but Israel has had some cool entries in the past...they have had now such a long history with the Eurovision they have become part of it! :)
Interesting that Australia is now in Europe.
Now imagine that it would be actually the case - I mean, Australia could swap places with Russia... Russia would be far away with no neighbours to invade lol And we would have a cool neighbour with koalas and kangaroos... 🤗 The only problem would be the rest of the things living there that want to kill you lol
I haven't watched any of the semifinals, I only watched Poland and Ukraine on YouTube. I like both entries a lot. Ukrainian song is great, cool, original, funky and fun, but at the same time beautiful thanks to that ethnic, traditional vibe and the touching topic. Btw, I've noticed that people really dig that flute, so, in case anyone wondered what it is:

Poland's entry is great too, Krystian Ochman has an amazing voice :O And no wonder - he's grandpa is an opera singer! And I like the song, I can't believe that we've sent something that good to Eurovision xD I think this is the best Polish entry that I've personally heard since Edyta Górniak! Nice! 👏
And here's both Kalush Orchestra and Ochman performing together the Ukrainian Eurovision entry with Ochman singing in Ukrainian :) (he's the one partly dressed in white):

*looks enviously over at Poland*
Whereas Germany is set again to go out with ZERO points....can you believe it! 🙄
@BB, I've just watched the German entry on YouTube and it's a nice song! Maybe the singer's voice isn't very impressive, but he can sing and that's a good, normal song, so you have nothing to be embarrassed about :))
Germany is set again to go out with ZERO points...
That's kind of a tradition.... you should be proud of it.... NIL POINTS!

Meanwhile.... what happened to German music?
I used to like a fair amount of German pop (fun stuff the country weirdly got no credit for....) but I lost track a few years ago when the German musical channels disappeared from Polish cable lineups...
Can you name interesting German songs/artists in the last couple of years?

Can you name interesting German songs/artists in the last couple of years?
My personal favourites during the '20er:
Unheilig - Geboren um zu leben
Xavier Naidoo - Dieser Weg
(our football hymn back then)
Glasperlenspiel - Geiles Leben and Nie vergessen
Sportfreunde Stiller - Ein Kompliment
Peter Fox - Haus am See
Just a few out of my mind....there are more because we have some real good stuff (Rammstein?)....but we never send any of them and nobody knows why???
Peter Fox - Haus am See
I really like that song.
Rammstein?
I love them!
Turkey hasn't been in a while and I think Italy didn't compete for a long time....
Turkey has some very good music. A lot of crowd pleasing stuff but also good trance and jazz. Italy pulled out for a few years saying that the quality of it was low (fair enough) however they (together with the U.K., France and Germany) petty well pay for the whole thing anyway and that was their real reason.
Russia would be far away with no neighbours to invade
That would be great, however Australia seems to be full of psychopaths/sociopaths/malignant narcissists or at least around 75% of the ones I've met are just plain deranged. Then again, so does russia, and Australia does at least have better music. I used to like Gary Shearston's music (dead now). He eventually stopped his music career and became a vicar so I suppose he wasn't a psychopath, Amazing colour to his sultry and deadpan voice and not afraid of singing in his own accent.
Here he is with a hit he had in Europe: youtu.be/gS8fcsf8asI
Edyta Górniak
Hers was probably the best. All the others were poor at best.

You need to keep a low profile. While buliding EU - German Empire making deals with Putin, calling others racist while no counrty that borders Germany has that record of anti-semitic, anti- foreigner acts and violence.
People acctully died.
You are so good on keeping that image that our Ameircan friends here are fooled to think you are spinless jew loving, foreigner loving, gentel pushovers.
Why win eurovision and draw any attention to Germany?
Send Rammmstein? You are mad!
The tension is clearly building now and the final starts at 9pm Polish time. Ukraine will win (although russia has been trying to hack their systems, no surprises here), and the bookmakers are saying that the U.K., Spain, Italy, Sweden, Poland and something called serbia all have good chances to get in the top three. Moldova (and brave Finland) may get surprise support and of course France and Germany are not flavour of the decade any more and won't be at the top of the leaderboard.
All that and the FA Cup (Liverpool should win because they're northern) as well as watching russia lose a war is too much excitement.
I'm gunning for Ukraine to win, because Ukraine, and U.K. and Poland in the top three for obvious reasons.
