Poland's aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 14

He is not BBC any more.

Thank you for this clarification!

Unfortunately, the city in question has still been lost. However, Leonid Ragozin no longer works for the BBC.

A year ago, cities of 10,000+ population would take many months to conquer, and cost an enormous amount of manpower.

Now they fall rather quickly.

What's changed (other than Ukraine diverting its most capable formations to Kursk)? Two words - glide bombs.

A typical artillery shell contains about 13 lbs of explosives. The glide bombs being used across the frontline, often have 1,300 lbs of explosives.

A building that required many direct hits by artillery, and even then was taken only after brutal room-to-room fighting - now can be collapsed with a single bomb - burying all the Ukrainian soldiers with it.

Two words - glide bombs.

I love Russian glide bombs - especially when they kill Western "freedom and democracy" volunteers...

Hey, cymes, how many Ukrainian dishwashers does it take to make one glide bomb? Or do they run on hay? With those Mongols, you never know...

. The glide bombs

Don't Ukrainians have such bombs?
Bobko  26 | 2189

They have a few. American made JDAMs - to be specific.

JDAMs are an exquisite piece of weaponry, but very expensive. Russia made a copy that cost a fraction. The top picture below is a JDAM, and the bottom is our "JDAMski" (proper name is FAB with UMPK kit).

Zelensky says Russia dropped 30,000+ glide bombs on Ukraine since the beginning of the year.

Different scale.

Probably this city hasn't been conquered yet. Will wait for a credible source.

Who is making the most money on this war, that's the question. Russia has now depleted their whole post-commusism/USSR arsenal so they must have a new armor provider. Do they do most of their military at home or they import it - if so, from whom, China, India? As long as nations make money on the war, it will continue. There must be someone who can stop it like Trump, but is it good business for all parties/ Probably not.

Will wait for a credible source.

The journalist included a map by DeepState.UA together with his post.

DeepState is the leading mapper of this war, and has connections to the Ukrainian General Staff. They don't post any Ukrainian losses of territory, unless absolutely confirmed. Usually they are a few days behind Russian sources, because of this.

Ukraine is losing ground at a pace, that we haven't seen since the spring of 2022.

This is a little bit surprising. The $61B aid package passed by Congress was supposed to stop the bleeding. Further, the new wave of mobilization that started at the beginning of the summer, was also supposed to stiffen Ukrainian defenses.

In the end, it seems the aid is slow to arrive, and the newly mobilized men can in no way be compared to the hardened volunteers that joined early in the war.

if so, from whom, China, India?

Iran and North Korea now.

You mentioned r*SSians living in Ukraine. In fact they're usually r*SSian speaking Ukrainians with loyalty to Ukraine. The Kremlin would have people believe the opposite however they lie as others breathe. In fact, most aren't even r*SSian speakers since they speak Surzhyk, a variant of Ukrainian.

Of those who do speak r*SSian, many are stopping that now and of course so e of the bravest and most pro-active defenders of Ukraine are first language r*SSian speakers including President Zelenskyy himself.

I was delighted to read yesterday that not only is China's need for fossil fuels falling, but also that their stocks of fuel that they bought from r*SSia at fire sale prices are completely full. Lovely news, not so lovely for r*SSia.

@Bobko
Please stop talking about facts. Only feelings matter to the lefties here on PF. Feelings are so much more fun to talk about. You can mis-spell words, call names, and generally be an idiot instead of talking about reality when focusing on feelings.

Anyone want to talk about how to actually end the war so people stop geting killed for no reason? Probably not.

Iran and North Korea now

Supplemental sources. The main supplier of the Russian military is... the Russian military industrial complex.

Surprise!

Please stop talking about facts

I know - facts are so f*cking annoying!

Zelensky hates facts - absolutely abhors them... As a successful entertainer and producer, he would much rather deal in perceptions and "narratives". We could never hope to compete with him in this, with our crusty old boomers in the Kremlin.

If you combine Ukrainian skills at PR, with the Russian ability to establish unpleasant facts - you would have an unstoppable force.

As things stand, any Ukrainian loss - no matter how demoralizing - can be crossed out with a brainless joyride through Belgorod or Kursk. Any Russian breakthrough, can be painted as a snail's pace of advance within a wider context.

how to actually end the war

How to end it? Stop the illegal and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, pay reparations for the damage caused and compensation for the lives lost and hand over the r*SSian war criminals for trial.

Anyone want to talk about how to actually end the war

To talk about how to end the war we would first have to know who is running this war. It isn't Putin and it definitely isn't Joe Biden (he couldn't even run to toilet on time).

All we see, guys, is puppets. We have no idea who the puppet masters are, so we can talk all we want but everything is for the puppet masters to decide.

One thing I know, they aren't benevolent. So hope for the best, ребята, but expect the worst. *whistles happy tune*

Iran and North Korea now.

So nothing's changed. The East vs the West forces. But is their technology adequate to the US? I'm neutral about the parties, but it is a shame that they waste so much money and lives instead of creating something useful for their own people.
Bobko  26 | 2189

I think so.

Not to flatter Jon and Milo too much, but they certainly did play a big role here. Especially Boris.

A classic situation of the tail wagging the dog.

You would think that after their shameful crashing out of the EU, they would hunker down and focus on their own problems - but instead we get "Global Britain".

"Global Britain"

Don't get me started on Britain. :-/

The older I get and the more I learn about history, the more I come to the conclusion that they are the Jews, Reptilians, cyclists etc. on steroids!

that they are the Jews, Reptilians, cyclists etc. on steroids!

Unlike the Americans, that commit crimes earnestly - these bastards know exactly what they are doing. They have centuries of experience with it, and until recently (before it became unfashionable to speak these things out loud) they would talk about it openly.

The Continent? "We must strive to keep a balance, preventing any single alliance from becoming too strong."

Asia? "We must keep Russia confined, and prevent it from crossing the Hindu Kush."

America? "We must aid whichever side seems to be losing in this Civil War".

The Middle East? "We must draw the borders in such a way, that they will be forever consumed by internecine fighting."

A quite literal Mephistopheles of a nation. Hats off to them.

A quite literal Mephistopheles of a nation.

Quite! Perfidious Albion and all that.

They do produce good writers though... and comedy series... and - it pains me to say so - football teams.

Hats off to them.

Hear, hear.

But is their technology adequate to the US?

No. Deeply substandard, especially compared to the European Storm Shadows and the American ATACMS.

One thing about r*SSia is that the mistakes they make are endlessly repeated by them. Poland too, though to a far lesser extent, especially when things are left to the various inhabitants of Poland itself and they aren't mired in Ciemnogród or under the thumb of Soviets or under the capitalist heel of large German companies and their Bundeswotsit that represents those companies.

About creating something useful for their own people, their leaders have never given a damn about people. In 1000 years of existing they've never peacefully changed government.

And who are their own people?

They're supposed to be a 'federation' however in effect it's Greater r*SSia. They've never made much progress in getting beyond that mindset in centuries, never admitted wrongdoing and still send disproportionately large numbers on non-r*SSians from other parts of their clown show 'federation' to be repurposed as dogfood in a country they're supposed to be invading. After all, they don't see them as "their own people". Primitive and self-destructive.

A Russian warplane has bombed a location in Ukraine's Sumy Region, which was used to hide a Western-donated HIMARS rocket system and munitions, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed on Wednesday, sharing footage of the strike.
...and the US MICC is ecstatic. Another order to replace what was lost...

On behalf of the most corrupt mafia ever in existence, I want to thank the Russian Defense Ministry for its cooperation in this regard.

This video proves conclusively that I am the smartest Polish citizen alive.

It took two a half years and a million dead men for the Polish government to finally catch up with me and admit my brilliance.

I want my 200 billion bucks back.

I told you, morons, how to lose without spending this kind of dough but you wouldn't listen.

My idea was so simple...Just drop your gun, raise your hands, and live happily ever after. Duh!

Nonsense videos of North Nigerians blowing up a few random civilian buildings.

Still nowhere near capturing Pokrovsk and tomorrow it's Friday - time for them to down their Korean War rifles and get hammered on gut rot vodka

Still nowhere near capturing Pokrovsk

What will you say when the whole southeastern front comes crashing down? Will you resort back to "KIEV IN THREE DAYS, LOL"?
cms neuf  1 | 1748
29 Aug 2024 #60
You are being a bit dramatic - "the whole southeastern front" - you are talking about one modest town, the size of a typical Pacanow, 20.000 people who were perfectly happy until their lives were upended by this senseless and aimless invasion.

North Nigeria will never take a major city again in this war. By major I mean one of the top 20 in Ukraine.
